Just in case she got lucky and is in the one school that still goes to the pub.

I wish the unions would stand up for education workers health and safety. A nationwide section 44 walkout until it is proved that education staff are not at increased risk would be a start

KnowingMeKnowingYule · 23/12/2020 15:46

They are going to school Dr Harries!

KnowingMeKnowingYule · 23/12/2020 15:47

She is talking absolute shit!!

Piggywaspushed · 23/12/2020 15:47

It isn't difficult to disentangle what kids are all doing Jen, it really isn't.

GleamingBaubles · 23/12/2020 15:47

I just think it's time now

KnowingMeKnowingYule · 23/12/2020 15:48

I agree @GleamingBaubles

MrsDanvers123 · 23/12/2020 15:48

Bloody he'll, Jenny Harris must be a secret Us4Them! What a load of bollocks. Just snuck in to get that off my chest...

Jenny please come to a school you silly silly person!
MrsDanvers123 · 23/12/2020 15:51

And, if we all have to take personal responsibility, what about me sticking my head into my classroom on Jan 4th and swiftly backing out when I see 30 unmasked students breathing intently towards me? Bet Hancock wouldn't like me taking his advice ten - fuckwits.

And breathe Blush

Piggyinblankets · 23/12/2020 15:52

DS hates hate Hancock but I swear if I ever do harm to anyone it will be Jenny Harries.

Obviously I don't mean it. I would just shout at her.

MrsDanvers123 · 23/12/2020 15:52

Sorry, I know I have interrupted but I agree with everything you lot say and it is all so shit!

Piggyinblankets · 23/12/2020 15:53

The other one (Doyle) referred to the 'education experts'. Just who does she think is being consulted?

I loved the way Harries talked about transmission without blinking, and the way they now bang on about asymptomatic transmission.

They have some brass neck.

She is odious and just dam right rude.

Well you know it's track and trace they will sound official ( paraphased)

MrsDanvers123 · 23/12/2020 15:59

Just want to add that I am that angry that I have broken into the Christmas pork pies - bastards Grin

hedgehogger1 · 23/12/2020 16:02

I'd like to see this evidence that teachers etc are not at higher risk

FiggyPuddingFiend · 23/12/2020 16:03

@eitak22

Once again us in primary will get ignored. Cant have our free childcare closed. Hmm
Normally I'd say you were right to be annoyed about primaries being ignored. However I don't think you should wish for this utterly ridiculous testing suggestion, probably best to try and continue being ignored so you don't get sent useless tests.

If you have inadvertently bought 20 million tests that don't work should you:
A. Send them back and ask for a refund
B. Dispose of them responibly
C. Give them to secondary schools

Teacher death stare?

I’ll bet she’s avoided going into schools, partly to avoid the virus and partly for plausible deniability about the risks in schools.

DreamingofBrie · 23/12/2020 16:06

I was watching the conference and had a flashback of school assemblies, with hundreds of kids sitting in front of them, cross-legged, on the floor.

GleamingBaubles · 23/12/2020 16:13

Or D. See how many you can shove up the arse of Gove, Cummings, Johnson, Williamson, Harries etc?

Cantaloupeisland · 23/12/2020 16:14

Seriously, what can we do about this? The unions are saying the right things but the gov won't listen. it's ridiculous to be in a tier four area but be expected to be back as normal in Jan with no new measures except this shambolic testing idea

GleamingBaubles · 23/12/2020 16:15

Genuinely think it is strike time. And I have actually changed union membership to avoid striking twice now.

DecemberStar · 23/12/2020 16:18

The fact that MH said he hoped it was the last press conference before Christmas said it all.... there'll be more announcements, more guidance, more U turns.

GleamingBaubles · 23/12/2020 16:19

Omg have you seen today's numbers?! Shock

CountDuckulasCranberrySauce · 23/12/2020 16:20

Popped on to say merry Christmas to everyone as I'm taking a break from MN over Christmas. Thanks for all the support and laughs since the start of the republic. I've not posted much but I have read everything and this thread has been a lifeline. You're all amazing Xmas Smile

Cantaloupeisland · 23/12/2020 16:24

Jesus today's numbers! Seriously considering how much I need my income. They can't keep schools open in full when we're heading for a situation worse than the first wave?!
