Just in case she got lucky and is in the one school that still goes to the pub.

Checking in...

Achristmaspudsskidu · 23/12/2020 14:33

@Piggyinblankets

It seems they are determined to plough on with this unreliable, dangerous crap.

I was reading the guidance and note that it still says older pupils should distance form each other and not touch each other. Does anyone work in a school where this is actually adhered to??

It’s ok that the tests don’t work, because we are all social distancing, so that’s reassuring!

Looks like primary back as normal on 4th.

There'll be 3 U turns before the 4th.....

BreadSaucery · 23/12/2020 14:38

Dumping all the test kits on schools so they can blame Headteachers when it doesn’t get done? Wtf have I just read?
If they are relying on parental pressure to force Heads to implement it they can count me out Angry.

RigaBalsam · 23/12/2020 14:50

Outrageous

hedgehogger1 · 23/12/2020 15:08

These tests seem like a complete waste of (a lot of) time. I can only see ways they'd make things worse. What difference will one week of reduced contact make to safety in schools? The unions seem particularly useless too

eitak22 · 23/12/2020 15:08

Once again us in primary will get ignored. Cant have our free childcare closed. Hmm

eitak22 · 23/12/2020 15:15

Sorry for snarky comment. Must admit I'm finding this 2 weeks stressful rather than relaxing as know the government are not going to do the right thing.

MrsChristmasHamlet · 23/12/2020 15:16

Listening to Matt Hancock and shaking my head. My sister arrived in the country on Friday (not from South Africa) - no one has asked her about her covid status or checked that she's quarantining! She could be spreading it all over the place.

Piggyinblankets · 23/12/2020 15:19

Ugh... Jenny is with him.

KnowingMeKnowingYule · 23/12/2020 15:21

Urgh that woman.

I’m sure our tier rules aren’t the problem. It’s the lack of enforcement or checking people are following them.

I doubt you need very many people doing the wrong thing to make it impossible to control outbreaks.

BreadSaucery · 23/12/2020 15:29

Exactly that, Rafa. We don’t need to go as far as sealing people up in their homes but we need to get stricter with monitoring. If, at this stage of a global pandemic, I still wanted to travel globally I would expect very strict check ups when I returned.

Cantaloupeisland · 23/12/2020 15:29

I can't believe they're still going ahead with this insane scheme. Half the bloody country in tier four yet it'll be business as usual for us. I could scream

Piggywaspushed · 23/12/2020 15:29

Schools question!

DecemberStar · 23/12/2020 15:30

Isn't the South African strain the one that's more harmful to children??

Can't believe my county's not gone into tier 4, can't believe we're not going into lockdown, can't believe Christmas get togethers still allowed.

KnowingMeKnowingYule · 23/12/2020 15:30

Didn't say anything about dates....

Piggywaspushed · 23/12/2020 15:30

Jenny telling us we aren't at risk natch

Totally ignored her question about online learning. Still parroting the same old shit.

Yup.
Cantaloupeisland · 23/12/2020 15:33

Don't worry, they're putting a 'plan in place'!

Shame they're not mentioning that it's scrapping isolation in favour of some dodgy tests that nobody will have time to administer

RigaBalsam · 23/12/2020 15:34

What did they answer? My Dad was talking through it. 🙄

MrsChristmasHamlet · 23/12/2020 15:34

I do wish they'd all just shut up now. It's all hot air.

Piggywaspushed · 23/12/2020 15:45

Question about primaries now. But Hancock won't answer them. Passes on to the ladeez.
