You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs
Do not give ‘The Every twat for Themselves mob’ the staffroom password as a number of them are operating in an alternative reality.

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom. Close the door quietly on your way out

That poppy seed woman is a vile waste of space

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 22/08/2020 13:37

Agree with you @hedgehogger1.

Another one who tries to derail education threads

Our staffroom is closed except for pigeon holes, and we no longer have a classroom. I anticipate eating lunch outside with the kids, possibly under an umbrella.
I used to spend all lunch marking and planning, but we will not be marking and we have been told to plan at home as there won't be access to computers for staff outside of lessons.
I'm really quite worried about the no marking and no circulating around the room. If I can't wander around, and I can't take books in, how am I supposed to check the work?

twinkletoesimnot · 22/08/2020 14:11

@WhenSheWasBad

Can you just ask your induction tutor / query it with them. It should be an automatic right to that time, you shouldn't have to ask for it.

Apparently we are going to have two big marquees to supplement the dining space

@StaffAssociationRepresentative reported her as a troll. Don't know if anyone else feels the same?

TheHoneyBadger · 22/08/2020 14:17

We’ve got a marquee too staff to create an additional eating space.

I know I keep sharing this guy but I’m too lazy/thick to read scientific papers myself and like that he does that and summarises findings. He does link to the papers for anyone more fastidious than me.

Piggywaspushed · 22/08/2020 14:23

What thread is poppy seed woman?

Appuskidu · 22/08/2020 14:27

@Piggywaspushed

What thread is poppy seed woman?
It’s the one about head teachers and face masks.

Is Poppy Daffodil ?

hedgehogger1 · 22/08/2020 14:28

Masks in schools thread. I've hidden it now. Where she wants heads to quit if they aren't able to get kids to socially distance

Piggywaspushed · 22/08/2020 14:35

Just seen it and messed up thread. Comedy value...

No, not Daffodil
You need to ask me how I know....

echt · 22/08/2020 14:39

I'm not allowed to say what a load of w*nk her arguments were. Because that is like, personal. Hmm

MNHQ need to do Analysing Argument 101.

noblegiraffe · 22/08/2020 14:48

Masks in schools threads coming up more often now. The imminent return focusing minds, I think.

DollyMixtureLulus · 22/08/2020 14:55

Nicola Sturgeon and the Scottish medical advisor were definitely hinting at masks for secondaries earlier in the week.

TheHoneyBadger · 22/08/2020 14:56

Do watch the video if you have time. Kids don’t spread it is totally blown out of the water now and interesting stuff on how the kids who get sickest are those who are exposed to multiple viruses simultaneously eg classrooms in autumn term

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 22/08/2020 15:07

@Piggywaspushed I was wondering about that especially after ‘ask’s’ comments on @noblegiraffe ‘s fab list.

Very much using diversionary tactics on posters to drag thread off topic.

Same person/group?

Iamnotthe1 · 22/08/2020 15:22

Sorry bit lost - Poppy?

echt · 22/08/2020 15:25

IABU thread about head recommending masks.

hedgehogger1 · 22/08/2020 15:28

I really need to stop caring about the random shit of internet trolls. I'm blaming a massively bad case of PMT

Piggywaspushed · 22/08/2020 15:28

I don't know angelina but I suggest you never askmehowiknow Grin

hedgehogger1 · 22/08/2020 15:28

My phone tried to change PMT to PMAT then I must have been chatting cell cycles at some point

hedgehogger1 · 22/08/2020 15:29

Oh is it the same person? I thought they were familiar. Coz clearly people who aren't trolls need a daily name change

MrsHamlet · 22/08/2020 15:43

Do any of your schools have decent staff wellbeing "stuff" in normal times? Ours is pretty shitty - people tend to come to drink tea and eat emergency snacks and cry on me, but that's not going to be possible. I'm concerned that we're going to have a lot of staff on the edge... and we had a fair number before this!!
