Well, I'm orf now for a full morning of Public Engagements

I'm taking MIL to the Health Centre for her flu jab then we'll have a cappuccino in the supermarket cafe before she does her grocery shopping

Plenty of photo opportunities here . . . . we won't be holding hands but I may need to take her arm when we step off the curb. And MIL will be impeccably dressed in M&S as she regards a flu jab as a 'medical appointment'

KatStratford · Today 09:23

Just like the Carly Simon song “you’re so vain” every time they see the headline Celebrity Traitors they probably think that song/article is about them…

Went for mine at 8am and the queue was down the street. Doctor chirped at me 'you can have the covid as well, your age qualifies you.'

Gee, thanks for reminding me.

And MIL will be impeccably dressed in M&S as she regards a flu jab as a 'medical appointment'

I rolled up in my best 'just crawled out of bed' chic.

Mymanyellow · Today 09:33

Harry could always go on celebrity traitors. Very fitting.

That hand holding annoys the bejasus out of me. They even did it at HM's funeral.

I so agree with this (although I would also call out the Tindalls for the same thing at the funeral). The Sussexes hand holding always looks performative to me and it is usually Meghan who is clutching at Harry with both hands. “Look how in love we are!” 🙄

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Today 09:37

I think as well there's an element of 'Look at us, WE'RE not bound by that stuffy royal protocol.'

OrdinaryGingerBloke · Today 09:37

This morning’s engagement is attendance at a sports event supporting young people with their physical development. (Taking my daughter to class)

Later I shall be shining a light on the less fortunate by supporting those struggling through difficult times and in need of robust emotional and mental health support. (Taking food to my bereaved neighbour)

At the moment interest in HAM is clearly at a low ebb. Traitors is much more interesting!

Wouldn't have thought so. Maybe it should have said 'international photographer'?

Maybe I am being thick but if it’s anonymous, what’s in it for the photographer?
Or is it that HAM have paid for this ?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Today 09:43

Thinking I might have to cancel today's engagement of inspecting artefacts for the domicile that is undergoing elements of refurbishment (looking at new sofas for the ongoing project of a flat redecoration), because the spirit is willing but the flesh is saying just stay in and watch the racing.

Maybe they got one of their 'security team' to take the photos?

UncleColm · Today 09:52

I think they both look so ordinary in those photos...And for two people holding hands they are very far apart from each other. I agree that it is staged.

fridaynightzzz · Today 09:55

The hand holding is ludicrous. If they actually interacted with each other it would look more convincing.

WilliamsExtraSausage · Today 09:55

Years ago I read a Daily Mail article about Tom Daley going on a date with a girl where they sat on a beach and shared a sweet picnic or something and it was so completely staged you wondered why it had happened. And then the rest is history.

Yep. I think M will make her move back home soon. Her message to the RF will be, ‘You keep an eye on him - he’s your problem now. I just want money. I’m done. Don’t mess with me and I’ll keep my mouth shut.’

Ha! She'll never keep her mouth shut.

'My Life with Prince Harry' is her pension pot.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Today 09:58

She's incapable of keeping her mouth shut, more like.

They must be incandescent that no one has leaked their address or DC’s school .

Yeah, they must, because it really makes all their security-related dramas look ridiculous. The only people who've invaded their privacy since they arrived and told the world where they are is them. The rest of us (despite finding their nonsense and drama endlessly entertaining) really couldn't give a monkeys.

Someone on Reddit linked to this, very old communication from Jason Knauf about the International paparazzi trying to get photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte. It’s on a whole different, and quite shocking, level to what supposedly occurred at the school and a much more dignified request for privacy for their little kids.

Flippin' heck. Those are shocking; and the photographer in the hide demonstrates how easily that could have been someone with a gun or a bomb (as Knauf acknowledged).

Regarding the 'approaching pub ' photo, Harry is walking as if he's wet himself.

That's how a lot of people walk who spent a lot of time on horseback. It gives you bandy legs. Just saying ...

I can't understand from this article whether a film is actually being made about Kelly and the Queen or whether the Daily Mail people think a film should be made and would prefer it to be a series? There is no indication Angela Kelly is herself involved but they are hoping for it?

There had been previous reports that Angela Kelly was involved in a documentary of her life with the Queen.

What is new is that the film is now said to be a drama. This means that it does not need to be factual, and may therefore also be able to include additional information without breaking an NDA.

The photographer can sell the picture they take (in this case, as an “exclusive”).

Wouldn't have thought so. Maybe it should have said 'international photographer'?

Maybe after observing those "international" photographers for a couple of hours they thought "Hey, give them a job" and asked if they were free on Friday?

Yes, you could drive a truck between them, hand holding or not.

Also, isn't it odd that while there are several in focus, close up photos of them walking in, there's not a single photo of them inside? None of the other diners thought to sneak a snap of the 'royal' couple?

bluegreygreen · Today 10:25

That old letter also shows how much things have changed in the era of camera phones and social media.
These days, a photo of George in the park might well be taken by someone sitting on the park bench scrolling Instagram or TikTok.

The world of celebrity photography no longer belongs to paparazzi. Celebrities run their own social media accounts (or have staff to do so) and control most of their photographs. Other than for large events, huge groups of paparazzi do not exist in the same way as before.
