I'm very curious about this. I never saw the ad on ebay (and can't see it now) but saw Tom Sykes laughing about it on one of his podcasts. Now, I'm a 2nd-hand bookseller on ebay (in Australia) and the ad sounded waaay over the top for any serious dealer to have written. Also, you don't offer to provide provenance of a signature or anything else AFTER you've been paid and the item has been received by the buyer. So there's that.

But you can't just magic up an ebay account with a history and a 100% seller rating. Megs couldn't have managed that!

And how would the seller have got their hands on it anyway? I'm guessing it's simply a fake dedication/signature (good rip of her handwriting though) and the media attention forced the otherwise genuine seller to pull the ad. Still, most genuine book dealers wouldn't dream of pulling a stunt like this.

Top of the morning to Your Jeffness, and fellow ham observers. For transparency, I’ve been on these threads since the first watch-along of WLM, and am the proud OP (monteshitshow) of the only thread that tried to keep the peace while providing a safe space for fans to say nice things about Meghan, our elevated Duchess, Princess, Actress, Mom. That fell flat on its face and I’ve never tried again since.
Just settling into thread 40, and have really enjoyed 38/39 which was about the school swap drama. Wanted to say thank you again for the endless entertainment. I can’t wait for the Christmas tree and Christmas fridge threads for the balance they provide, as I’ve been spending too much time on this one. Also the Nigel Slater Christmas chronicles read-along - highly recommend for the calmness in great contrast to Sussex fireworks.

I would love to hear anyone’s reviews of the Montecito advent calendar if they get one please. I’ve seen more festive and joyous ones at the poundstretchers so I am truly curious.

So, let me tell you a story. I'm not sure it can fully explain the book up for sale, but it is probably a good starting point how it ended up in the trash and a royal worker got it to sell. To start our story we don't have to go very far back. A few years. About the same time as the book was inscribed. That was the time that our royal had her husband cheat on her with a bunch of yachters on a "work trip."

Thy had been provided as a perk from the actor/director who owned the company and was about to sell the company. So, there was of course a knockdown drag out fight between the royal and her husband. I mean he did get caught by the tabloids on a yacht with the women.

That is not how or why the book ended up in the trash though. Again, I am not sure 100% how it ended up in the trash, I am just giving you my version of events as to how it probably played out. And as I have said repeatedly over the past few years there was a fallout between that couple and the cuck and the alliterate one at that point in time. Our royal's husband was going through a tough time then. His long time boss was reorganizing the clubs he owned which is why the husband was doing the work for the tequila brand.

The husband was then asked by the royal if that boss had ever given him any "perks" like the one given by the actor/director. This is where the husband should have stayed quiet. Back in the day, the husband's boss had done some business with a Page 3 model/actress who was known for dating a villain from one of the most popular movies of ALL time. The husband's boss also wanted to sleep with her so he started doing business with her.

The model/actress also was hanging out at that club that the alliterate one frequented. So, from time to time the alliterate one would visit the clubs of the business partner of the model/actress. This is the same business partner that became the boss of the royal husband. Sometime around the 2014-2015 time frame there was a little party that actually took place at the club the alliterate one frequented and the royal husband was there. They knew each other because the alliterate one had previously hung out at the club he managed. They hooked up, but even I am not sure how far the hookup went, but he came clean that night when talking about the yachters and I'm guessing that is the night the book ended up in the trash.”

Same odds. She just can't pass it on. None of the royals apart from Anne own any of their homes either...technically. all reverts to the crown.

Despite username (that was from another MN thread years ago about how to de-skin a sausage) I'm Australian, so Of The Commonwealth, and I have a deep interest in British History. The last 100 years especially. I have no convict ancestry that I know of. Shame, it was quite trendy here for a while.

I have almost kept up with these threads but not quite. I enjoy the banter and especially the archived articles. Not so much the 1-on-1 shit fights between posters, but you get that sometimes.

The bit about American children from the airbase was an addition by the Daily Mirror. It was not in the HAM press statement. I'm not sure that's the type of school American service families would send their kids too anyway, especially when they are only very temporarily in the UK.

It looks so fake. Her security guard is holding her bag out of shot. Clearly no one is paying her to wear one or it would be in the shot, ditto a jacket, as she used go dress out of season for this reason

I think there was a rumour that HMTQ got to the point where she wasn't taking phone calls from H unless someone else was in the room as a witness to what was said. I wonder if AK was one of the people who heard these conversations

It would be lovely if a local person had taken some photos as well as these may include the photographers, entourage etc!!!!!

I can't understand from this article whether a film is actually being made about Kelly and the Queen or whether the Daily Mail people think a film should be made and would prefer it to be a series? There is no indication Angela Kelly is herself involved but they are hoping for it?

Oh my god can you imagine working in that pub? What a nightmare.

Harry looks a total plonker wearing long sleeves under a puffer gilet while grey haired ladies in the background are in short sleeved dresses. What healthy, active man in their 40s is feeling the chill at the moment? Everyone else is in shirts or short sleeves after 9am. (Also I've lived in a country hotter than California and re-acclimatised within days moving back - none of us carried on pretending England was cold when it wasn't).
The man's a total fool.
