Will either H or M apologise sincerely for the hurt and damage to reputations they have caused? Will they stop 'sources close to the Sussexes' leaking and briefing their favoured news outlets? Will they stop all these attempts to manipulate RAVEC and all these pretend-royal outings and go and live a quiet life? If they won't do any of that, then what is the point of getting the brothers together in the same room? It wouldn't be a reconciliation, it would just be a photo-op. And W would know that.

I’d be disappointed in the Wales’s if they did reunite. I admire their strength of character in not bending to the HaMs

I do too! It must be so difficult in light of the HaM manipulation and PR.

Yes, Harry wants to have everything, doesn't he? Most of all, to be back in the royal fold. Perhaps he doesn't remember Spare.

The next apparent suggestion for getting the brothers together ...

Oh lord, Richard bloody Eden and his hobby horse again.

I'm sure they don't. I'm equally sure this situation would not have come about if H&M had not dissed their family , widely and repeatedly in public for $$$$$$$s.

Sometimes you don't always get want you want , you get what you need. With all plaudits to the Rolling Stones.

As it stands today - the Monarchy needs PW. It doesn't need H . It might be a nice to have but H&M really haven't helped themselves.

I agree completely. If William V were on the throne, there would be no talk of reconciliation. Harry would be cleanly out.

What happened to the apology they were considering?

This!
I believe a lot of the general public would be very, very disappointed if William ‘forgives’ Harry (and Meagain).
A lot of people already believe Charles III is showing great weakness in his dealings with the HaMs.

I'm inclined to agree, Ida. The things Harry has said about Catherine alone would justify that, never mind anything else.

Starryfifty · 01/10/2026 15:47

Harry has got what he wanted no? He stated his brother was trapped and didn't marry for love unlike Harry who got the hot girl. Let's not forget

Fair points, although KC is his father, so probably feels that bit more obligated. More so than William will. Although I think KC made a good decision with that clear statement when they returned..

IdaGlossop · 01/10/2026 15:32

Courtiers presumably don't want the first and fifth in line to the throne divided.

I just can't see it, Ida. If there are actually any courtiers who wish to prefer the selfish desires of the unhinged 5th in line over the security and happiness of the heir's own dignified spouse (and children - the 2nd, 3rd and 4th in line), then quite honestly I think that they need sacking.

The Palace cannot afford to minimise the well-being of another heir's popular spouse, and his heir's mother, ie Catherine.

Harry's more dispensible than Catherine.

KC & W just need to listen to the Oprah interview again and read Spare as I have this week, both interview and book …. the interview seems even worse now than it did at the time, and it was REALLY bad then.
Spare would be a joke if its implications weren’t so serious.

I highly doubt it. I think I remember a HAM source say that H offered to resume while duties when KC was sick but poor H was ignored 🙄🙄

Indeed he was. They're both utterly disgusting when it comes to the way they've treated Catherine. The jealous spite towards someone so undeserving, and the readiness on Harry's part to totally throw Catherine under the bus, is dreadful to witness. And they know she can't and won't answer back.
It must drive M insane that Catherine's popularity just grows and grows.

Remember the statement :

They gush more about other public figures. 🙄

Credit to her, she's risen above it. I'm very glad they didn't retaliate, answer back or stoop to that level.
It is shameful, as you say.

These are all valid points. There has to be an explanation for courtiers seeking a reconciliation, assuming we give credence to Richard Eden's story. The only possible one is that they are acting for the king, who wants to see the brothers together again.

If I were William, I would be having no truck with any public event, even a Diana-related one. There is no obligation for there to be a service of thanksgiving to mark 30 years since her death.

https://archive.is/oR91P

"Courtiers" are attempting to reunite William and Harry by using the excuse of the anniversary of their mother's death? Just more of the endless Richard Eden slop. Absolute nonsense.

Eden's "source" (whatever that means) supposedly told him that "that the notion of a service including both brothers is being seriously considered". Considered by whom? Who will organise it and where? Did they ask either of the brothers if they would be interested?

"‘This would be an inspirational way to remember Diana,’ the source tells me. ‘William could celebrate his mother’s life by giving a reading. That would be far more dignified than appearing in a television programme that would inevitably be portrayed as a rival to whatever Harry might make. And it would also serve to bring the brothers together.’"

Are we seriously meant to believe this rubbish? Aside from this scenario sounding completely ridiculous, I suspect William has no interest in any public event to mark his mother's passing.

No, there is no reason, at this stage it just looks like Harry being desperate for attention, and using their late mother to do so. How mercenary.
