Hope no-one minds that I started this one...

Continuing the saga of Sussex PR disasters.

How many flights has he taken this term.....

He has some cheek to stand up on stage and talk about how holiday spots are living systems and not just for vacations....with his alleged Portugal holiday home and the mansion in California sitting empty.

He has travelled the world 'on Granny' ....and he dares to tell the rest of us to be more mindful of holidaying, etc.

And I cringed when I saw his autocue fail....it was the perfect opportunity to say something about how we can't rely on technology and to laugh at the situation. But I suspect he is massively reliant on his AI written speech about the dangers of AI...

Sometimes I feel sorry for him as he is so out of depth. But the breathtaking arrogance of him claiming to be some sort of 'thought leader'. He will have nobody but himself to blame when he realises he is becoming a laughing stock.

Oh dear perhaps he didn’t write his own speech ??
They do seem to have a fair bit of bad luck following them around.
I’m listening to his audiobook atm and it is extremely well written - I don’t mean content I’m commenting on the quality of the writing….it didn’t take me long to find out that a Pulitzer Prize winner was his ghost writer - fancy that.
There ought to be a rule that an autobiography should be written by the person who says they are writing it - would be lots more fun!

I can’t find the full 2nd part now but saw it earlier and thought, what a dick - immediately handing off the blame rather than face up to the fact he did not know enough about what he as talking about to carry on….

It certainly shows he has no idea about the subject (or how AI works). And so crass and graceless to blame someone else. He comes across as so bitter and angry, and can’t even make a little joke at his own expense to cover a cock up.

He got up at 4am every day to write it? In his 90-room mansion? My heart bleeds, because he obviously has to fit in his writing around the terrible grind of his full-time job... oh, hang on...

I notice that H's AI speech had a short appearance on the DM online - possibly because of the autocue prompt thing ? The Travelyst speech - I can't see anything.
I think H's sphere of influence is waning - even amongst those who think he is click bait.
I certainly don't think he is up to speeches where he demonstrates in depth knowledge about something he has been researching over a good amount of time. A short speech with no heavy amounts of data ( data which could be understood but not recalled from memory ) yes I can see that being a reason to stop if the autocue fails , for fear of making a proper factual mistake. This didn't appear to be that. He should have been able to more elegantly finish a point and make sure his main arguments had been made. I don't think that performance will have done his reputation as a global speaker any good. But as I've said before , if people keep inviting him , he'll keep turning up.

Even H admitted that his father worked so hard as Prince of Wales that he frequently fell asleep at his desk and Queen Camilla describes the King as a workaholic.

Princess Anne, and also Prince Philip, have /had more engagements each year than there are days.

There is no doubting they could have a much easier life as standard very rich people if they gave up the crown and royal commitments as of course H should know.

Problem is he wants have his cake and eat it and to make trifle of it too.

Yeah, because they forced him to walk out and finish it. He probably thought he'd made a really clever quip to finish it when it all went wrong. Then had to come out and "apologise" and finish it which, for him, could have been embarrassing. Perhaps he realised that he was out of his depth and was quite happy to have a reason to stop early.

I'm quite hacked off he's jetted over to the US for just a matter of days, having been in this country a month at most (and arrived here by private jet) and is continuing to tell us mere mortals that we're not supposed to fly off on our once-a-year holiday.

Whenever one of my daughters wanted to play princesses I'd remind her that princesses have impeccable manners, are unfailingly polite at all times and work their socks off. It was the time when the term princess meant - reading between the lines - obnoxious, bolshy, rude and thick. My young daughter wouldn't have been aware of the "she's such a princess" meaning, but i wanted to make sure she knew what she was getting into in her make believe 😄

Charles must find his younger son mortifyingly embarrassing. The 'Dook of Sussex'. Just so cringe.

I had the same though. He's being well paid and flown in, but had no initiative to finish it if his own accord.
