I don’t think Diana is buried on that Island precisely because it is a low lying island and you cannot bury people so close to water.

She might not be in the ground though.

What does the Mail have in store for Harry? I imagine it wants a bit of revenge at some point. Goodness knows what stories the Mail’s sitting on.

Wondering if they're holding off at least until the deadline for appeal is past, @AristocraticAutumnCrowFight.
I don't expect they'll wait until all the costs have been paid.

Yes that makes sense. I think the DM are sitting on many stories. I’m also loving the pictures of PH they put on their articles. They are far from complimentary!!

PullTheBricksDown · 21/09/2026 00:03

I'm quite liking the suggestion from someone on tonight's news update about the book tonight that Earl Spencer could counter accusations of profiteering from his sister by donating his royalties to charity. Over to you, Charlie S!

I'm sure there's a pun in there somewhere but since it is already tomorrow I am not sharp enough to find it just now.

H would have his hand out for Invictus in a flash.

And now Spencer has labelled the media as ‘cancerous’ in order to help HaM try to get ahead of all the negative press incoming, I presume. We’re back to the ‘big bad Briddish press’ being mean to HaM. The same press he owes millions to.

Honestly, who would want to live like this, in this exhausting way? Are they all just a bunch of narcissists?

She might not be in the ground though.

It would still be within 30m of standing water.

They’re welcome to their madhouses and privileges. It’s their own Bedlam they’re banking.

Btw, M uses the swan emoji after she uses the words ‘bundled together’. Maybe that’s the clue. She’s not talking about pantry favourites. She’s talking about a specific group of people.

That’s long been my theory. That one day in the not too distant future we’ll wake up to quite the surprise in the Mail.

WilliamsExtraSausage · 21/09/2026 07:16

When is the appeal deadline? Is it in October?

Why would she be underground? And not on some sort of plinth.

I discovered yesterday there’s a place called Twatt in the Orkneys.

It could be a new Dukedom and we could send them there. What bliss that would be. Behold the Duke and Duchess of Twatt.

Pretty sure there would be no need for a convoy to transport the children to school there. They could walk alone and enjoy the freedom. It would be a real kindness.

The Duke and Duchess of Twatt has a nice ring to it.
Meghan could remind people - “remember - I’m a Twatt now”.

According to the instalment from ES they got some Church person (can’t remember who) to consecrate the ground ahead of the funeral and two stalwart estate workers dug the grave.

Of course they would have had to go through the motions and make any move secretly at a subsequent date. It would still involve a lot of people though. Remember six burly guardsmen struggled with the weight of her lead lined coffin.

As for an appeal. Even if Harry was up for it I don’t believe any of the others are inclined to throw more money into the moneypit. I’d be very surprised if they do.

BBC news report says 2nd October is the deadline for launching an appeal. So not too long now.

Handbagsandoldcurtains · 21/09/2026 08:01

This article by Tom Peck, the Times parliamentary sketch writer, is quite the kebabing. It’s not as entertaining as the Kevin Maher piece, but it’s piercing in breaking down the claims in the book and drawing together the backstabbing relatives. This is his take on Harry’s court cases.

Highly paid lawyers have gone through thousands of stories over a more than 20-year period, one by one by one. I’ve personally sat in all the court rooms in question, and heard them all. I can’t think of any that were quite as outrageous, as poorly sourced or as journalistically unprofessional as Spencer’s world exclusive about the King and his valet, though no doubt it’ll be, as we in the media like to say, “good for trade”.

Earl Spencer’s swan song: more blast than lament, or proof

(PS Apologies to the residents of Twat for the stereotypical description 😊)

LaMarschallin · 21/09/2026 08:11

Well, err, erm, I’m reporting, every word in this book, I report exactly as I saw and felt it at the time,” said Spencer, sounding less like an eminent historian and more like a fourth former trying to explain away the absence of his homework.

He and Harry are both fond of "their" truth.
