@IdaGlossop do not feel a fool for being taken in by the wedding.
l - Had a party
Wore my own wedding tiara
Bought DD a new dress to ‘wear to the wedding’.
Invented a BLOODY CAKE to celebrate their wedding !! Baked said cake and decorated it by hand!!
I also opened champagne and did a full ‘royal wedding buffet’ with ‘Chicken Balmoral’ as the main dish. (That was served at Charles & Diana’s wedding I think. Or Anne’s. Maybe me cooking tht caused this HaM disaster!)

I made my own **bunting from French knit in Red white and blue, with red white and blue material pennants, each one cut out with pinking shears and painstakingly stitched on by hand. I did 15 meters of it for the front of my house.

I had very sore fingers. ** it has been re used at the Kings Coronation celebrations.
My mother sat there with a hat on and a glass of champagne and she wasn’t happy - she wasn’t impressed with Meghan walking herself up the aisle and it didn’t sit well with her that only meghans mother was there. If my mother had that much of a gut feeling imagine how W &C, C&C and QEll & PP felt!

Anyway - @OhNoooooooooooooooo Clearly you have no idea how long it takes to get permission back from parents for a school/class. The general one signed at the beginning of term would not have covered the school for this visit - their kids faces and voices are all over X . It’s not like just being put on the school newsletter. Don’t you think it’s incredibly hypocritical that HaM don’t show their own kids faces, preach to the Hoi polloi how it’s terrible to put your kids online and then proceed to promote themselves by putting other people’s kids all over the net??

I’ve never made bunting but I’m so glad to meet the acquaintance of someone who does a Royal occasion the same way as me. 😊

Thankfully I’m well humoured in life and my girls and friends go along with it.

Did he have a famous MN penis beaker ?

I think it was called an old denture mug in those days.

Lunde · 20/09/2026 03:07

Perhaps CS needs to re-title his book "Up the Swanee"

... or perhaps it's more of a turkey 🦃

AcrossthePond55 · 20/09/2026 03:27

In my mind, I'm seeing HAM + CS at Althorp last summer exchanging grievances and commiserating with each other on how misunderstood and under-appreciated they are. Some sort of Folie Au Trois?

I do feel for William. On one hand I'm sure he's glad his misery and grief at the death of his mother hasn't been laid out by his uncle in his book for all to read the way Harry's was. And I'm sure that was with Harry's permission and encouragement. On the other hand it must be upsetting to be portrayed almost as if he was an afterthought, or that his own grief wasn't as deep as his brother's.

It's been discussed here as to people's feelings about both boys following her coffin. Following caskets on foot in so formal a fashion isn't really done here, so it was something I really hadn't seen before. I found it desperately sad and extremely distressing.

fuschiaproudparrot · 20/09/2026 05:11

His pathetic face 🤷‍♀️ imagine acting like this at a school.

My take on the situation is this book is the main reason for their sudden return, Meghan’s “Easter eggs” pictures of her sunbathing with CS in the background, the hamlets taking flowers to the grave etc. obviously they knew about the book and it’s contents so they thought it would be a great time to launch themselves back into Britain thinking that there would be a wave of huge public sympathy towards CS and therefore them, plus they would have ringside seats to KC’s and the royal family’s demise, then of course it would tie in nicely with the rumoured Diana documentary, not going quite as planned I suspect.

It’s interesting to note how sympathetic to Harry CS is, yet William is glossed over, almost as if they are both trying to literally brush William out and take sole ownership of her memory, it of course could all be purely coincidental but personally I don’t believe in coincidences and Meghan’s little swan emoji sign off sealed it for me.

Agree with everything @BigWillyLittleTodger
It’s clear they were actually planning the move back here for some time, which incidentally puts new light on their relationship with Ian Wace as I assume they didn’t ring him up at short notice and say “oh Ian we need somewhere to live, secure, near Cotswolds, have you any suggestions?????”

It also puts a different perspective on their visit to KC in July, when they must have been making their plans but appear to have kept him in the dark. For all their professions of joy at meeting with him and showing him the grandchildren I think it is clear there won’t be more meetings any time soon and they don’t seem concerned. They had just hoped to get that money picture of them all with the King and thank goodness he (and or advisors) were canny enough to deny them that.

As to CS cutting William out of the narrative it seems his relationship with W is less than warm, possibly due to William removing his little stream of income related to displaying some of Diana’s belongings.
From a post on X:

“Charles Spencer's profiting of Princess Diana's memory and death needs to be exposed:

🛑 Made £25M touring her bridal gown and personal items across the US

🛑 Made £15 million more displaying them at Althorp for 15 years -to 2013

🛑 That grift only stopped in 2013 when Prince William turned 30 and took legal control of his mother's personal possessions and moved them back to Kensington Palace.”

Shame on the BBC joining in and cutting William from the pictures.

Finally another vote of sympathy for Jeff. But best ignore the poster who is in bad faith. I have also reported several posts.

Morning all, I’m finally caught up again. (I’ve had a dramatic weekend thus far re health, but all good now and I’m home again, with DP to look after me. The paramedics and A&E staff were wonderfully kind.)

I’ve also reported certain posts for being far removed from the spirit of the site and social media guidance. The point being made about H’s potential psychological fracturing isn’t even new - and should of course have been kept as a general observation.

I didn’t know all that so thanks for the information.
Wonder what Sarah and Jane think about all this ? Interesting that they went to Paris with C and CS didn’t bother .
Also wonder what all the ex wives , daughters , ex lovers think . And let’s not forget his once best friend Darius Guppy whose wife he tried to seduce .
What a deeply unpleasant character CS is and H is making a big mistake aligning himself with him and his tawdry book .
Makes me even more glad that W was born first and that he met and married Catherine . I remember the sneers at the time but the Middletons have proved to be an asset to our future King.

Why are you so certain they didn't give consent for the filming?

Consent is given incredibly quickly these days. Online forms etc take moments. And the school won't have bucket them film any random kids.

I agree it's hypocritical to a degree, however if consent was given by parents to attend this session, then ... That's their choice 🤷

I've skipped over a few pages.

Breaking news on the BBC, Charles S is saying Harry and Meghan are being treated like Diana by the media. It's beginning to seem less like a serious biography and more like a concerted campaign in which he is clearly Team Sussex rather than Team Truth. The whole focus on Harry in the funeral narrative now makes me sense. He is undermining his credibility.

A classroom full of teenagers is always going to be a tough gig.

But the MIGS would have understood that, done the prep work for him, and coached him not to look stupid. Or chosen a less challenging event in the first place.

Harry without scaffolding is not a pretty sight.

This is it. How cringe. Teenagers rightly don’t want to be used as someone’s prop.

And H floundering without the machinery behind him that makes these things work.

A very clear demo of how the MIGs were protecting H from himself.

God he is a pompous knob.

I hope this comment is allowed. It’s not about the contents of CP book. MM has used a random swan 🦢 emoji in the blurb on one of her As Ever Official posts on Instagram. Not so subtle endorsement?

Spencer and the Sussex lot defo in cahoots. It’s looking increasingly spiteful and I really do feel for William who is maintaining a dignified silence here. One hopes the long game pays off for him.

I look forward to his coronation when these chancers are persona non grata from then on.

I'm sure she thinks it's subtle but the fact that Charles S has taken time out of his book interview to join Harry's narrative that they are victimised just like Diana give the impression there are camps forming.

The thing about the Sussex/Spencer Vs the King

Do they GENUINELY think they can destabilise the monarchy?

And if so, to what end? Let's assume they're successful and take the king down.... Then what? Remove the monarchy entirely?

If they don't have ties to the monarchy, who would be interested in them and what they have to say??

Probably but they are incorrect.

Charles S is attracting a lot of negative comment for dragging this all up again. Like Harry's book this is exploiting family difficulties for money. Most people can relate to the pain of having family laundry washed in public and most take a dim view of that. In this case there is the additional layer of the 30 year gap which is casting doubt on the accuracy of things claimed.

Like Harry, Charles S is hurting himself more than the monarchy. Once you open the box you can't control what people think and a lot of people are going to find what you are doing grubby.

OhNoooooooooooooooo · 20/09/2026 07:38

Quite. Spencer is sounding more desperate and toddler like every day.

Now trying to say HAM are being treated the way Diana was... Ridiculous! Just because the press aren't going "ohhh cheeky chappy Hazza looking fab at awards ceremony" or "Haz's bantz with teens in a school"

And they haven't seemingly had press chasing them down, or sneaking in bushes trying to get pics of Archie and Lili etc.

It's like a toddler tantrum to try and get attention

I think it's worse than that. I think it's quite sinister.
Attacking the Head of State and diminishing the Heir to the Throne?
Promoting H&M as the new collective Diana?.

CS was living in South Africa when he got the news Diana had died. He was told by one of the sisters in the middle of the night.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 20/09/2026 07:54

It will all die down. What it has helpfully done is flag up what a revolting character CS is, as everyone is digging around in his past, and it won't do Harry and Meghan's public image any good to be affiliated with him. It will also permanently damage whatever relationship they thought they were going to restart with KC and the rest of the RF. As ever, Harry and Meghan have got their priorities wrong and fucked it all up for themselves. Excellent.

Some posters upthread stated that’s why they came over here in a rush…..this could look like evidence for this idea

However, it looks like it’s all backfiring. The more CS says, the more delusional he is coming across. He doesn’t seem stable. Who does that remind you of?

I agree with this. It will be tomorrows chip paper as CS has zero credibility.

Hilarious if H&M thought they could come to the UK for some royal glitter adjacency to boost their coffers and gain some victimhood hood kudos with a ‘told you so smirk’ from CS ‘revelations’

As Ever their cynical, vicious meddling will leave them covered in shit not glitter.

I would be interested in H&M putting out a statement or commenting on the book - as they have had a lot to say or clap back to on everything and anything. Their silence is revealing.

Charles S would have been far better advised to write a proper biography of Diana rather than try to bolt on a hatchet job on Charles R. People don't necessarily get what is like to be in the monarchy but they do understand difficult family relationships. Part of the problem Charles S is having with credibility is because he reminding us of those in our families whose grief has distorted memory, those who have held grudge for decades. It's all too familiar. Add that to the fact the reported words simply don't sound like Charles R and he has sunk himself.

It's a pity because I bet the sections on her childhood will be fascinating but no revenue in those and it's clear from the sections they have chosen to put in the papers that he is maximising revenue.
