Breaking news in the Daily Mail. Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children 'removed from school after two days' mol.im/a/16130877 via https://dailym.ai/android

I do wonder if there is actually any school that will be able to meet their expectations in regard to security. I'm interested to see how it all plays out.

Their greed, hubris and entitlement is just utterly off the scale.

Isn't it just.

I don't think this thread is unhinged and I'm certainly not crowing

Uprooting the family and the children from their Californian school to a country that Harry has said is unsafe for his family, then not bothering to work out the simple logistics of the school run beforehand is unhinged!

They are a bit over the top though. I cant help thinking if they were genuine about privacy , they could find loads of clever ways to stay out of the limelight. They could home school the kids, aa many ppl do. It's not that weird. They could cultivate a small circle of genuine, trusted friends..They could meet up in private houses etc. The truth ia they are childish and want all the goodies without any of the responsibility. They want to swan around shooting their mouths off about all sorts of things they are not experts on.ans getting praise and admiration for it. They just arent that interesting. We dont live in the age of the Emperor's new clothes any more. I wish for their sakes as much as for anyone's that they will just live a quiet life. I fear for their chikdren, who will.maybe be unnecessarily embroiled in all this nonesense instead of being left to grow up in obscurity. Harry should understand he is a minor royal now. It's all about the future king william and his family now. And the kids george will have one day.

Former Head of royal security on BbC news saying in answer to suggestion that they should get security because they are very visible and prominent. And the former security head said they are visible and prominent because of their own actions, I suggest keep a lower profile if you want any kind of safety and security. And it will depend on intelligence.

Everybody is seeing right through them. Look at us we're here waving to all the would be dangerous folk. We need protection.

Edited

I was glad to see it being called out by those in an official capacity this morning. I think if this had happened several years ago they’d have had a better chance of getting their way, but nobody with even the most basic critical thinking skills is fooled by them now.

They’re living close to us. Supposed to be a secret, but of course everyone knows! The billionaire who’s house they are living in used to manage the school run just fine when his kids were young - Nanny/Mum went past with the kids, then shortly after you’d see a police car follow them to the gates. Presumably he paid for the protection then and is now for H and M.
I can’t really see much enjoyment in that level of wealth that you are scared for your families safety.
I do have some sympathy for H and M, none of this is the kids fault, but you either want a private out of the spot light life or you don’t - make your mind up really!

Passingthroughagain · Yesterday 10:54

Reading all the reports today I'm even more convinced they had to flee the US rather than leave by choice. By flee, I mean they heard something was coming down the line with H's visa and had to leave before he was chucked out. Were ICE vans circling Montecito?! Because it makes bog all sense for them to put their kids through all this upheaval when he's bellyached for years that the family would never be safe in the UK. Why put them in harm's way then, if you truly believe the risk of harm is real? It's terrible parenting otherwise.

No they really aren't more at risk than their cousins. And random people talking about their extremely public shenanigans on a niche discussion site are not creating any kind of real world security risk. No one is making any threats. Get a grip. If they dont want people talking about them, then stay of out the public eye.

Niche discussion?

They are about twenty threads at any one time running about them on this site, one of which has thirty eight iterations. Mumsnet has eight to ten million users per month.

There are daily reports about them in the DM and other tabloids. Lots of articles in Hello, Vanity Fair, and other magazines globally.

I’ve counted about twenty “palace” podcasts on various platforms which tend to discuss H&M more than any other subject.

They are discussed on all of the major news channels and morning tv magazine type programmes.

Just Google Meghan and Harry and you will see the list of references is pages and pages and pages long.

His children seem to be very ginger which makes them stand out too.

This is all about getting content for their next Oprah interview.

They need jobs. Proper jobs.

Interesting that people always mention the seat belt and the drunk chauffeur and leave out the posse of journalists chasing the car.

Probably because the accident was caused by a drunk driver and death was made more likely by the lack of seatbelt. A sober, well trained getaway driver would not have let his passenger not wear a seatbelt and would not have crashed in the first place. The paps only pursued them because they left at speed which, again, a sober well trained driver would not have done

This thread is not 'full of hate speech''.

It is just people who have had enough of their constant circus, drama and need for attention.

I used to have a lot of sympathy for them at the beginning, but I have none left at this stage.

Harry and Meghan seem unable to understand and appreciate how privileged they are (wealth, health, two kids, a loving partner).

They had the chance to start a new life abroad away from the glare of the media, which they claim is what they wanted.

Instead they managed to mess it all up by seeking attention, engaging in some weird money-making enterprises and constantly criticising other members of the Royal Family. They alienated anyone who did business with them in the US with their behaviour as well.

At some point they really need to take responsibility for their poor choices.

Frankly so many people are struggling in their everyday lives and it is hard to empathise with two people who have so much and yet never seem to be able to live a happy life and create chaos wherever they go.

They are just an embarrassment at this stage.

Edited

This is absolutely why I feel such frustration with them. They have been here 3 weeks and we have already had two major blow ups from them - the private citizens letter and now this school security thing.

They need to realise that they are hugely privileged people and that not everything is a massive conspiracy against them. They could have the makings of a lovely life but they would rather feel persecuted.

They are exhausting!

That's because Harry and Meghan brief the press and ensure their images, and that of the children are out there, also ongoing stories.
They even brief the Daily Mail.
It's all down to them, so don't blame people for engaging.

You forgot Meghan publishing pictures of her family on Insta, the Sussexes working with their ‘preferred’ media outlets, constantly releasing statements and clapbacks to the press.

That’s on top of the Netflix documentary, tv interviews, magazine interviews, Megs podcasts and Harry’s book.

Plus, why do we need all those intimate family photos because it's Harry's 42nd birthday?
The sole aim is for publicity. There is absolutely no need.

And if they home schooled there would be a thousand threads articles berating H and M for being over protective and subjecting their dc to a cult like educational experience.

Maybe their kids like school and interacting with lots of others? Maybe they want to play team sports when they are older?

Harry will attract press attention wherever he goes however low profile he tries to be, so he may as well just live his life which is what he is doing. Why should he hide in a bunker?

I don’t blame him for trying to control the press narrative a bit. You might as well when people are writing lots of false crap about you anyway.

He can't control the press narrative because no-one can.
Harry wants publicity. However, being very entitled, he thinks the narrative should always be positive. All this over sharing doesn't help.
His arrogance and entitlement are the problem here.
All these intimate photos for his 42nd birthday? Really?

I asked that but cans be bothered to scroll through 400 posts to find the answer.

They’d only been here for about 2 weeks and were already trying to engage in some tit for tat press release regarding KC’s statement.
I can’t be they have time for all this crap when they’ve just uprooted their family thousands of miles.
They have very strange priorities.

Maybe H should have thought of the kids. It's a shame they don't have a relationship with W's kids. Mike Tindall seems like a fun Uncle to have - imagine the kids all together at Christmas! I'm sure H misses that for his family. To have no relationship with your mothers family and very little with your fathers is very sad for the kids as they grow up.

Interesting that people always mention the seat belt and the drunk chauffeur and leave out the posse of journalists chasing the car.

Because it’s not relevant. Royals and many celebs are wry much used to being followed by paparazzi. But there’s a reason they wear seatbelts and don’t get into a car with a pissed driver.

JSMill · Yesterday 11:22

How did they manage the security convoy in California? Unless they are on blue lights and can stop traffic, there’s always going to be a risk this essential convoy gets split up.

Sure, their lives aren't easy, but you can't tell me they don't add fuel to the fire. I mean, come on. Seriously. And as for the home schooling, I'm pretty sure the kids would mix in circles where all sorts of social opportunities would be open to them anyway. How is yanking them out of achool after 2 days or endlessly ranting about absolutely everything ever gonna give the kids peace. They need to step away.
