Breaking news in the Daily Mail. Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children 'removed from school after two days' mol.im/a/16130877 via https://dailym.ai/android

I do wonder if there is actually any school that will be able to meet their expectations in regard to security. I'm interested to see how it all plays out.

Last minute drama as per usual played out in the media ...poor kids

I'm talking about the protocol of it rather than media noise. What has been done previously with the children of the heir's siblings?

David & Victoria Beckham choose to have a public life, yet don't require publicly funded security, the whole idea of how much publicity they attract is a separate issue to my question.

I think what I'm saying is, if it's always been done, then it should still be done.

If it's never been done then it could be looked at, but as a tax payer I would then expect them to live nearby to the school rather than a 30 minute drive away in order to keep costs at a minimum. Once you have tax payer security you are beholden to the tax payer on decisions you choose to make. And for me, that doesn't just apply to Harry, it applies to all of them.

Why have they posted a video of themselves, all they are doing is walking through the park which can be identified anyway.

It gets the headlines.

No they don’t. It’s the haters creating the noise. And all of the journalists and commentators stirring the hate for profit.

Meghan hasn’t said anything publicly for ages and only makes very sporadic appearances. She posts every now and then on Instagram with her children’s’ faces covered. I wouldn’t recognise the dc if I came across them in the street! Not like I know the faces of K&W’s dc.

If they are keeping their childrens faces hidden, then why do they think they are unsafe going to school?
nobody knows what they look like these kids could join the school run anonymously their nanny will look like all the other nannys at the private school gate, nobody is reporting on the Sussex children except their parents.

HollyhocksandPeons · Yesterday 10:11

Apropos of nothing: my very good friend, head screwed on, traditionalist, monarchist, conservative (not the party, the vibe) etc. etc. said to me, out of the blue 'I believe they were bullied, I believe there were racist comments made'. My jaw is still on the floor after this comment, but it definitely made me think.

Tabbytiger122 · Yesterday 10:12

Ireallycantthinkofagoodone · Yesterday 07:54

I think it’s exactly this. Get ‘their team’ to leak that the children can’t be kept safe on the school run…….
I do feel sorry for A and L.

Then they should homeschool. Meghan is very well educated & Harry has had one of the most expensive education in the world they could easily manage the work for 5 & 7 year old.
Or they could hire a tutor or governess like the royal family did in the past.
If security is a worry homeschooling is the obvious answer.

It's funny (in both a "Ha ha" and a "peculiar" way).
Those defending the Sussexes have absolutely nothing left.
They're not "living their best life in sunny Montecito". They're back in Salty* Island scrabbling to be recognised as members of the official/working Royal family and to somehow seem relevant.
So, it turns out that the defenders have spent years peddling a false narrative and the Sussexes and their defenders look pretty foolish.
Now all they've got is
"Stop talking about this - we don't want to hear it. And if you're talking about it, it means you're insane, unhinged and full of hate and vitriol. So there."

Take away the words "insane", "unhinged", "hate", "vitriol", and "frothing" and you take away a goodly chunk of their available vocabulary.
I used to wonder about bots, but surely even bots could be programmed with a thesaurus?

*Well-seasoned and not bland island as I see it.
And using "Salty" just reminds people that Salt 'n' Pepper may not be moving together much longer if Meg's buggering off to sort out her "international business".
I bet that poor old, highly symbolic palm tree has withered too.

Are you really this invested in these people, are they this important to you? Can I ask why? I'm really interested, not being snippy.

I respectfully have a different viewpoint... We know that prince George is going to Eton. These kids are a target purely because they are royals. If they were not royal few would care.

These children are at much extra risk because of the media frenzy .I do not think people in the UK would threaten children because they do not like ordinary parents - it is because they are from a royal background..

That the parents are trying to get help tells me their parents care about them and are scared for their safety. I might think less of them if they did not try. I admire their quick reaction to updated secuirty advice. Being protective of our chidlren is natural.

Can we stop with this 'media frenzy'? The only people dropping hints about the Sussexes' whereabouts is themselves.

And as has been said numerous times, being 'royal' doesn't automatically mean you are a major target. These children are not unique or special.

That the parents are trying to get help tells me their parents care about them and are scared for their safety.

So why didn't they stay in California then?

Apparently it was so safe that their parents thought nothing of leaving them for weeks at a time as they went on jollies on the other side of the world. Why did they move to Britain without having their children's security sorted? Their children are their responsibility. Not the British taxpayer's.

No, they have created all of this. She hasn't said anything controversial and divisive "for ages"?
That doesn't make what was said and claimed disappear.

I find it utterly bizarre that you can’t except people just see things very differently to posters who spend most of their time in an echo chamber.

Peoole have lost all sense of proportion when it comes to H and M and for the life of me I don’t know why that is but I have a few ideas.

Sorry but it’s not normal for posters to go around diagnosing people whom they have never met and don’t know, with mh disorders.

And it’s not ok to say they are narcisstic parents when you have never met someone either.

It’s entirely possible that there had been a security blip. By definition a school is a place with many people in it! It was never going to be possible to keep the identity of their school private.

I agree with the poster above who said if you just take the hatred towards them on here as a barometer, it only takes one nutter. It’s not about Harry’s position in the hierarchy; it’s about being all over the news and regularly having 100 threads, podcasts, You tube snippets, regularly broadcasting hyperbolic invective about them. Sadly we know that people believe what they read in the DM. And it’s about how keen journalists and photographers are willing to pay for information about them.

And apparently it’s reasonable now to compare H&M to the mother of Shannon Matthews! Utterly ridiculous!

If posters really care about the dc then they need to desist from making statements about their parents based on crude armchair psychology and lay off the family altogether.

Meghan is no fool & lived a normal life. Surely she’d have use consultants etc. It’s puzzling. How can an A type personality not have thought things through?

No idea about how Louis and Charlotte get to school. I’d guess they have some form of police escort even if not outriders. But ultimately they are more of a target than Archie and lillbet? The other minor royals and their kids seem to manage without police. The Cambridge kids are at school in Ascot so the school run is basically through Windsor Great Park and I have no doubt this influenced where William and Kate chose to live (in a relatively modest house) so they could do the school run like normal parents. George is now down the road at Eton. H&M appear to have given no consideration to the logistics of the school run (a great leveller - because who doesn't have to think of this when picking a school for their kids?) In fairness, she probably has no clue having not grown up in the UK, but Harry must have some inkling as to why his brother chooses to live where he does. H&M could have been their neighbours - kids growing up together, running round securely in the Great Park and even sharing the school run, but apparently the house wasn't grand enough for M. It's a fascinating story because it illustrates perfectly that no matter how rich and privileged you are, you always think there is someone more rich and privileged than you, but really the joy in life lies in being able to do simple things with your kids and family and friends which has nothing to do with money and privilege at all.

George and siblings used to go to a private school in Battersea, brought by car from whichever Palace they lived in. Fair amount of traffic involved there. Noone seemed especially interested, worried or whatever.

London has a fair sprinkling of high net worth and/or politically high profile families and it mostly seems very low key.

I have to disagree. How many ill advised court cases has H embarked on? Why did he feel the need to issue a statement after KC had clarified their 'Private Citizens' role?

Why the need to share all this information about the school run, the traffic and security fears (yet again).
They are creating the noise. They want constant publicity. They want an ultra royal lifestyle.

NancyJoan · Yesterday 10:20

School run into central Oxford would be a pain in the neck for anyone, and would be impossible for them to stay under the radar. If they want absolute secrecy and privacy, somewhere more rural would be better, surely. No-one in Norfolk so much as bats a eyelid at the sight of William and Catherine, and I sure the same would be true of other places.

WingnutSOS · Yesterday 10:21

@Treetopviews698 it’s not “every now and then” with her posts though, and the near daily drip feed of info from their sources.

Tthey don’t have to post the kids at all - that’s my whole point. If I had genuine security concerns I would keep my kids well off SM, faces covered or not there would be an information blackout.

Why don’t they do this - because they are a pair of publicity hungry chaos merchants.

BUT posters and the media are reacting to what H&M do.
We ( the public) are not starting the 'conversation'. We are not asking for Insta photos from a family who demanded a private life.

The relevant part is that H wants tax payer funding for his security. That's where it becomes an issue for all of us who pay tax.

He has / had millions and could fund it and if not, he could have taken a low-key royal role.

Don't forget the book where he trashed his family, he let down the Armed forces by saying how many men he'd killed (totally against protocol) and he's behaved appallingly considering his father has cancer, for which he is still being treated.

Harry has gone from being the wayward younger son, but loveable nonetheless, to a man the public can't figure out and are struggling to find any sympathy for.

Once again, I'll say that it shows just how much H misses the advice and guidance of the men in grey suits. The optics of H and M complaining that they need taxpayer funded security to send their children to a private school they have chosen while living on a billionaire's estate just astounds me.

I do not hate Rachel and Harold, as I do not know them. I do hate their gross hypocrisy and their continuing world-wide 'privacy' tour.

Harold has no idea about real life for ordinary people. He went to a very privileged private school as a boarder - and it was within walking distance to 'home' and to granny in her castle.

This will be the first time in his life he will have experienced 'normal' school runs for 'ordinary' folk. If you are a day pupil at a school (albeit a very privileged public school) then do not expect to drive in convoy during normal rush hour and school dropping off and picking up times. Anyone who knows Oxford and suburbs knows how extraordinarily awful is the traffic during these times.

He lived his life with doors being opened before he reached them, to not have to wait in line, to get exactly what he wanted at a stamp of his spoiled little foot or the first sign of a manipulative paddy. If that is how you were raised, to be entitled and privileged and to be top spare dog, then that is set deep into your psyche of who you are and how you expect to be treated.

All that ended when he made the choice to leave the UK and then for him and his wife to throw hand grenades at the Firm and ALL the ordinary hard-working people who had paid towards their lavish lifestyle via our tax monies.

I doubt he will ever obtain sufficient emotional maturity to 'own' his behaviour and choices and consequences - it will forever be everyone and anyone else's fault. He is aided and abetted by a wife who appears to want all the (in)fame(y) and entitled privilege that comes with her jealous guardianship of her marriage titles and greater female jealousy that she would never be top over nor even spare to HRH Catherine, Princess of Wales.

If they wanted a quiet life, they could have it. They don't. They seek publicity. It's a soap opera and even more popular that Rachel's previous soap opera, Suits. Shame it does not put her in the line for an Oscar or even a star on Hollywood's walk of fame.

You don't just randomly 'come across' 'dc'.

I'm willing to bet that if you saw them in Oxford or another area you might expect to see them, thanks to their parents leaking their whereabouts, there's a good chance you'd recognise them. Their parents have posted enough videos and photos to have a pretty good idea.

Why post photos at all? The majority of high profile people do not share any photos of their children. No backs of heads, no emojis slapped over faces, no random limbs. Nothing. The Sussexes could easily have done the same but chose not to. We've even seen the children in swimsuits. Much bigger invasion of their privacy than showing their faces.

I bet that poor old, highly symbolic palm tree has withered too.

And to address the wierd “Sussex defenders have absolutely nothing left” comment.

Er, do you not think it possible that many of us who dislike people being bullied on line whoever they are, just don’t see the situation in those divisive terms in the first place.

Most sensible people know that rich people move back and forth between different countries and have children in one country during term time and then go back “home” in the holidays. I believe the Sussexes were planning to spend Christmas in Montecito all along? It’s not very unusual.

So your “peddling false narrative” comments are indeed a pretty good example of frothy and unhinged rhetoric! Sorry!
