Breaking news in the Daily Mail. Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children 'removed from school after two days' mol.im/a/16130877 via https://dailym.ai/android

I do wonder if there is actually any school that will be able to meet their expectations in regard to security. I'm interested to see how it all plays out.

Meghan is no fool & lived a normal life. Surely she’d have use consultants etc. It’s puzzling. How can an A type personality not have thought things through?

I don't think she is an A type. She presents herself that way, but an A type would never have launched American Riviera Orchard without the proper research and trademarks. She was left with egg on her face after that, given all the access to advice and capital she has.

No idea about how Louis and Charlotte get to school. I’d guess they have some form of police escort even if not outriders. But ultimately they are more of a target than Archie and lillbet? The other minor royals and their kids seem to manage without police. The Cambridge kids are at school in Ascot so the school run is basically through Windsor Great Park and I have no doubt this influenced where William and Kate chose to live (in a relatively modest house) so they could do the school run like normal parents. George is now down the road at Eton. H&M appear to have given no consideration to the logistics of the school run (a great leveller - because who doesn't have to think of this when picking a school for their kids?) In fairness, she probably has no clue having not grown up in the UK, but Harry must have some inkling as to why his brother chooses to live where he does. H&M could have been their neighbours - kids growing up together, running round securely in the Great Park and even sharing the school run, but apparently the house wasn't grand enough for M. It's a fascinating story because it illustrates perfectly that no matter how rich and privileged you are, you always think there is someone more rich and privileged than you, but really the joy in life lies in being able to do simple things with your kids and family and friends which has nothing to do with money and privilege at all.

Oh yes and it’s a massive coincidence that their children just happen to be of school age I suppose and that absolutely must mean that both of them were conceived with the timing of RAVEC meetings in mind! 🙄

How bloody dare they?

These threads are utterly nuts!

Eh? Archie was already in school on the US. So he has been removed from a school where he was presumably settled. Their security review is only happening because they have moved over here. If he was still at school in the states, there wouldn’t be a review. You haven’t really understood the situation, have you?

How much would it cost them to privately hire security for a year? The kids are young, so will either be at school or with their parents. They could easily employ a small team of trusted, well trained close protection officers to give that sense of safety on school runs and family outings. I'm not sure why they're not opting for that very obvious solution

They don’t want that, they want what the King and William have. 24/7 taxpayer funded armed police guards and IPP status.

This is not about the kids……

Rumour has it HAM have individuals in tow to provide protection, but they are (hopefully) unarmed since it's the UK

H seems to want armed protection and in the UK you can't (legally) buy that, that can only be granted via RAVEC.

Of course they do. No one is disputing that. But anyone who sends their children to a different country to school will presumably have done research and proper planning beforehand. Not rocked up ten days or so before term starts with nowhere permanent to live and no real idea of what the school run entails during actual term time. I’m not sure what your point is?

How do you know they haven’t been planning this for ages? It may have always been the plan to have them educated in Britain. If I had a choice, I would certainly think twice about sending my child to school in the US bc of all the school shootings.

None of us know for sure that this hadn’t been planned for a long time and it was only announced recently for security reasons.

Freeyourmind · Yesterday 09:51

I'm interested to know the history on this - did Beatrice and Eugenie have police protection when they went to school. Harry's children are in the same position as they were. So is it consistency or bias?

I think she is a fool though. Everything she does and says demonstrates that.

How did she get the Suits job if so? I know a bit about it/that “world”. It’s insanely competitive. She’s clearly ruthlessly ambitious.

Darkershadeofpink · Yesterday 09:52

are the parents at these schools gagged from talking? Do we know where the old and new school are, where they are living and if there was any incident? Or is it literally they they couldn’t keep in convoy? Was the house to school distance 20 miles? If so this is bonkers for primary age around the dragon.

MissMoneyFairy · Yesterday 09:52

Cant they be week boarders or home schooled, it's just another look at us stunt, why publicise it if it's such a risk, just move them without telling everyone. They'll be back in usa soon.

I’m absolutely fed up with hearing about them and their bloody security. People in this country have bigger things to worry about than a pair of over privileged wingers and we definitely have better things to spend our money on than security for them when they create most of the security risk by their own actions.

If so, it wasn’t planned very well, was it, if the school
is deemed unsuitable after two days, never mind the impact that has on two small children who have been taken away from everything they have ever known?

They are not in the same position at all.

There is far more media noise surrounding H&M and therefore their dc.

Noise largely created by their own constant briefings to the press and social media activity…

HesterLeggatt · Yesterday 09:55

It’s just a bit strange. If you worry about security and want a private life then have one. Don’t write tell all books and plaster yourself as a brand all over Spotify and Netflix, just go and live privately.

I’m not a fan of the royals in general, but if William and Kate can do the school run and the supermarket shop, and take their kids on holiday on EasyJet then I don’t see why Harry and Megan need private jets and school runs like an SAS operation.

What is also a bit strange are the people who rush to call anyone pointing out it’s all a bit silly “racists” and purveyors of “hate speech”.

Without telling everyone? It's Meghan and Harry - telling everyone is their whole lifestyle choice!

they actively invite that media noise, they just don’t need to plaster pics of themselves and the kids all over her insta for clicks.

I realised that you were being sarcastic with your “conceived to order” suggestion, but the sarcasm didn’t fit what I had said in my previous post when I replied to the poster who seems to think that the children were removed from school because of security issues. I do not believe it’s for genuine security issues if their only problem is too much traffic in an area well known for traffic. I don’t think your sarcasm worked. Sorry 😊

grammar fail

I don’t read the Mail. I got the story/stories from the BBC site.

Yes, they’re very unpopular in the UK. If you don’t know why, go and do some research, not only into their malicious allegations, but into the fact that most of them have been shown to be lies.

They are a nasty pair - own it and stop with the faux amazement.

This comment wasn’t directed at me but apparently we should all “own it” … how very, very bizarre!

They are becoming more and more deluded. If the kids were at the Dragon in Oxford - I looked at this school many years ago and EVERYONE knew the school run into Central Oxford was a nightmare. Maybe they thought that the lights would be turned to green for them?

She isnt a A list anything. Everything she does goes wrong. I agree with others - they want full protection just like W and K. It was only last year that Harry stated he wouldnt be coming back and here he is.

LaMarschallin · Yesterday 10:03

It's funny (in both a "Ha ha" and a "peculiar" way).
Those defending the Sussexes have absolutely nothing left.
They're not "living their best life in sunny Montecito". They're back in Salty* Island scrabbling to be recognised as members of the official/working Royal family and to somehow seem relevant.
So, it turns out that the defenders have spent years peddling a false narrative and the Sussexes and their defenders look pretty foolish.
Now all they've got is
"Stop talking about this - we don't want to hear it. And if you're talking about it, it means you're insane, unhinged and full of hate and vitriol. So there."

Take away the words "insane", "unhinged", "hate", "vitriol", and "frothing" and you take away a goodly chunk of their available vocabulary.
I used to wonder about bots, but surely even bots could be programmed with a thesaurus?

*Well-seasoned and not bland island as I see it.
And using "Salty" just reminds people that Salt 'n' Pepper may not be moving together much longer if Meg's buggering off to sort out her "international business".
I bet that poor old, highly symbolic palm tree has withered too.

I'm talking about the protocol of it rather than media noise. What has been done previously with the children of the heir's siblings?

David & Victoria Beckham choose to have a public life, yet don't require publicly funded security, the whole idea of how much publicity they attract is a separate issue to my question.

No they don’t. It’s the haters creating the noise. And all of the journalists and commentators stirring the hate for profit.

Meghan hasn’t said anything publicly for ages and only makes very sporadic appearances. She posts every now and then on Instagram with her children’s’ faces covered. I wouldn’t recognise the dc if I came across them in the street! Not like I know the faces of K&W’s dc.

MissMoneyFairy · Yesterday 10:05

Why have they posted a video of themselves, all they are doing is walking through the park which can be identified anyway.
