Breaking news in the Daily Mail. Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children 'removed from school after two days' mol.im/a/16130877 via https://dailym.ai/android

I do wonder if there is actually any school that will be able to meet their expectations in regard to security. I'm interested to see how it all plays out.

@Dorisbonson Yes, because Harry wasn't especially academic, for example, and it didn't matter, he was royal.

Children at elite schools here in the US will be playing competitive sports at a young age, they'll be expected to go to good universities, and the pressure to succeed career-wise is intense. I was brought up in the UK and am taken aback at how different it is here. Even with media attention, Arche and Lilbert will have a more relaxed upbringing in the UK.

My ££ southern friends want private Unis, with good social networks. The academic bar not very high.

They aren't in the cotswolds. They are just outside it. But I persume they are thinking of getting a house in the cotswolds. So what are they going to do, move the kids again? I mean all along my guess was Kitebrook...because I figured they wanted to settle more that way. But that is still 30 mins from where they are now. But where they are now is very much in the catchment for Stowe School later on.

There are plenty of private schools close to Stowe School, but of the ones I know I'm not sure any would meet H&M's requirements.

I have fond memories of Stowe, one of my cats came from there. Found by the groundsmen under a portacabin as a tiny feral kitten

Does make you wonder are H & M doing this to try and force the decision regarding security provision? Hope not.

Of course they are.

Press releases every day, ‘leaks’ ‘sources’ etc etc

Boring as fuck. So contrived and deceitful. Standard for them.

FreshJalapenos · 14/09/2026 23:37

Who told you they receive daily death threats?

It's been widely reported.

BruFord · 14/09/2026 23:38

@JustSawJohnny I doubt that most people hate them. Personally, I hope that they start making well thought-out decisions for their family. I think they tend to react emotionally, rather than logically, and that leads to problems.

Why would anyone make death threats to them? Surely William's family, the immediate heirs to the throne, would be most at risk.

I would imagine due to their supposed treachery for speaking out against his family and probably because she's mixed race.

We'll never know, I guess.

I read something the other day about Trumps boy, who is at University but so surrounded by paranoid security that he barely leaves the house. No way for someone to live , especially a young man whose only mistake was having Trump for a father. Sadly I think if their parents don’t stop doing a Phillip Larkin on them the Sussex kids are on track to end up the same way, twitching and jumping if someone drops a paper clip in their vicinity. I hope HAM are putting aside a good sum to pay for their possible therapy needs in twenty years time, because if we think HAM are odd then it will take a miracle if their children manage to get to adult hood without absorbing some of the parental angst that must fill that house like the smell of bad drains.

Before HAM s children are in exactly the same position as Edward and Sophie’s kids, and Anne’s kids, the children of a spare child of a sovereign, yet their kids apparently went to school without all this drama. Now I don’t actually know if they had security people sitting outside their classrooms all day, and were driven back and forth in armour plated cars with outriders, but you know what, I have a feeling they didn’t and weren’t. I know Andrew made a big fuss about his girls security arrangements but his views on keeping children safe were a bit skewed anyway.

By who? And what’s the source?

if this was true, RAVEC will be all over it, so you needn’t worry. They have far better resources than anyone else is the country who is ACTUALLY in danger so I’ll suspend my sympathy thanks

It’s more the lies they told that got peoples backs up, and the victim mentality. I don’t care what skin colour you are, the moment you sit in a Monecito mansion as a millionaire in designer clothes, aged 40 and giving an interviews moaning that daddy has cut you off, you’re a dick who can’t expect to only get a positive response

Arjan · 14/09/2026 23:51

Their return was already questionable considering Harry has been so vocal about how the UK is too dangerous for his family, so not only does he merrily bring them back despite his alleged fears, he fails to ensure their own security team have done due diligence about something as simple as traffic flow.

Most rational parents would be doing the complete opposite to Harry &Meghan, and taking their kids as far away as possible from danger and security fears.

All this drama looks like nothing more than Harry using his kids school run to fabricate ‘proof’ to uphold his demands for UK tax payer funded security.

It hard to believe they are not total loonies, their poor kids are going to be so massively screwed up.

FreshJalapenos · 14/09/2026 21:12

They really do seem to have an inflated sense of how much people care about them.

Someone on MN once posted funny excerpts from Spare and I remember one point Harry saying, when he was secretly dating Meghan, “I went to Waitrose - she stayed in the house of course because if people saw us together there’d have been literal riots” 🤣🤣🤣 DELUDED or what. Harry wouldn’t know a literal riot if got on a horse and played polo with him.

Ive always been a follower of the Royals and my mum even more so, but was Confused when he did the press release of “Enough is enough - the scrutiny is too much leave my girlfriend alone you vultures she can barely walk down the street”. Me and mum were like “He has a girlfriend? Didn’t realise”

Sure. People just don’t care. You barely see any threads running to pages and pages on here about them or stories in the tabloids….🙄

It's still competitive though and so different from the UK. Private colleges typically charge $70-100K for tuition per year, for example!

We're currently going through the application process with DS (17) and the expectations are so high.

You must have missed me saying how much people care. They may warrant discussions on the internet but I hardly think anyone will be starting “literal riots” because Harry is on Waitrose with a woman. But he clearly thinks that’s how much excitement/fury/whatever his presence stokes in people

Its fairly hard to get into a good Uni in UK now. You have to do very very well.

Absolutely 💯 or did they choose this school months ago knowing security would be an issue & try to railroad KC into providing security hence his unprecedented thinly veiled letter last week?

Any bets on what their next school will be ?

If you’ve got the money you can go to a smart, private southern Uni from a private school. These kids are generally fairly carefree & emphasis is on Greek life, sports & networking.

East Coast generally academics more important & Ivy entry. More pressurised IME.

No idea about how Louis and Charlotte get to school. I’d guess they have some form of police escort even if not outriders. But ultimately they are more of a target than Archie and lillbet? The other minor royals and their kids seem to manage without police.

Maybe there hasn’t actually been a school and the whole thing is made up for sympathy and headlines. Be interesting to see if anyone has actually seen these kids anywhere near a U.K. school!

Catherine is frequently seen driving them to school herself with a big dude in the front, I imagine they also have a security detail behind. She was the same doing the pre school/nursery run when in london.

I imagine the nanny takes them with a detail if Catherine and William are on early appts/away

I am heartily sick of the two of them and their games

I could never imagine being “heartily sick” of a couple that have no impact on my existence whatsoever.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I wonder if paranoia about security, even reasonable paranoia, is the natural result of living a life where you deliberately thrust yourself into the spotlight more than necessary.

Arjan · Yesterday 00:15

Harry was using his tax payer funded security team as gofors, sending them out for Nandos when Meghan was in labour. Same happened in Canada. I doubt it would be much different now,.

“The "Skivvy" Treatment: Members of the close protection team—which included elite Scotland Yard officers and Canadian Mounties—voiced intense frustration over being treated like "skivvies" (a British slang term for low-level domestic servants).

The Errands: Rather than focusing purely on tactical security, the specialized officers were reportedly asked to perform menial tasks, such as picking up groceries, fetching fast food, and running coffee orders.

The Cost Backlash: The complaints added fuel to an ongoing public debate regarding the taxpayer-funded security of the non-working royals. Critics pointed out that these elite officers, who were earning substantial overtime while deployed on international duty, were being poorly utilized for basic assistant chores
.

From Spare

"Meg was so calm. I was calm too. But I saw two ways of enhancing my calm. One: Nando’s chicken (brought by our bodyguards). Two: A canister of laughing gas beside Meg’s bed. I took several slow, penetrating hits.
