Just to say I am Basilisk - still at my mother’s with her rubbish internet so I can’t make my username work and it’s taken a while to read the new thread ( Can’t even try to read the old one but just to say thank you @jeffgoldblum for this.
Two quick points and the tomorrow night / Friday I will be back in the game
As so many others have said H clapping back at being a public figure is beyond nonsense ( unless he thinks it will affect Ravec ) Is a Public figure even a thing , technically in the UK? @DandyAF may know
I wonder if the BP message about HAM being private individuals , with their own business and charities (thank you @bluegreygreen for reposting it , is not a veiled hint that KC will not be at the IG next year. Not a Royal Charity.
I do agree with others , less than a year way how feasible are the IG , financially and somewhat politically. Govt have underwritten £26m. I cannot find anywhere that says other funding is more than £4m. (I may be wrong here ) . I do think he costs of the IG have got to a point where, whilst I think people may be a little nervous of criticizing it because wounded ex service people are obviously a good cause , I think the environs of £60m for 500 people (I think i m roughly right there someone tell me if I am completely out of kilter , but I think they were akin to Rachel the pilot’s numbers , ) the organisation has grown , and indeed one might say , has become bloated , to the point where this is no longer a handover to H from the Royal Foundation, which it was he didn't’ found it as such , but it really should , as a charity have some proper independent scrutiny. I read a report which was unfair because the IG is over multiple days and overseas participants , but said - 500 people is essentially a big high school sports day. That’s not fair either , but I suspect somewhere in the middle , or indeed another use of funds may be the answer.
Mum’s computer, slow, keeps coming up with stuff so signing out and will be back when at home
