I guess People’s copy editor had the layout and design in production and ready to roll, too late to pull it and find a replacement.

I don’t know if they could look any more idiotic than they already do.

I don’t even believe he remembered what creams Diana used. From age 8 he was at boarding school and holidays were split 50:50 with Charles so very limited time spent with his mother. What 8/10/12 year old boy knows what brand creams his mother uses? It’s not as if the children would have used the same bathroom as Diana either.

Diana’s apartment in KP post divorce was teeny tiny so yes, they would have used her bathroom. And I have that info first hand from someone who visited it.

It wasn't "teeny tiny" according to the photographs and the Paul Burrell book. It had more than one bathroom because he talks about the additional one off the hallway just as you enter or leave the flat.
Anyway, maybe he knew about her cream, maybe he didn't. You never know with Harry.

Also reports that Meghan is finding it hard to recruit household staff. Before you get excited at the thought of her and the stay at home dad having to do some housework consider that unless the nanny has very strict boundaries they may find themselves looking after two big babies while the young charges are at school.

Well it was reported a week or two ago (Neil Sean podcast) that they had recruited 4 domestic staff from an ultra exclusive Mayfair agency. They probably won't meet Meghan's standards but I doubt she'll be forced to wash Harry's socks 😂

She stayed in the same KP apartment after her divorce, it was huge, 3 floors. That’s where Harry and William lived with her.

If you can call an apartment with at least 10 rooms "teeny tiny"

2 nurseries
3 bedrooms
5 reception rooms
not to mention kitchen, bathrooms and staff accommodation...

IIRC it was 2 apartments turned into one - KP 8 and 9

Why do they need staff with two adults at home full time? H has said his role will be a full time dad (?). Could he not do domestic chores while the children at school?

QuibblingGingerDuke · 10/09/2026 22:50

Can you describe the kitchen to me?

Has Harry ever done domestic chores?

Well, no but he could learn. Something useful he could do (finally )

MouldyCandy · 10/09/2026 23:00

Surely he learnt to iron his uniform in the army?
If he's short of cash, maybe he could take in some ironing.

Didn't he have to learn how to top up his phone when he moved to US??

God - working for those two must be THE worst job EVER 😬

I'm intrigued as to whether PPO's contribute to the bringing up of Royal children?

I didn't think they were meant to get too close to their 'principals' for professional reasons?

I think Diana relied quite heavily on her PPO Ken Wharfe when William and Harry were children. He seems to have played the part of a favourite uncle.

More Sussex pushback though.

Are H and M now briefing separately from each other and/or Liam? It’s all nuts.

Thanks for your post though am fully aware of the points you make.

Your last point about no change to ravecs assessment may well be true, my interest was
A) the Sussex response specifically to being called private citizens. There's an additional update on the next thread from people magazine to.
B) KC'S letter was far more pointed on this aspect. Just checked the queen's response after the Sandringham summit. (As an aside did smirk at the irony of the paragraph stating that ham did not want to be reliant on public funds) it was fat less pointed on them becoming private citizens. However other posters have pointed out examples of when security has been provided to bothe Taylor swift and salmon Rushden so possibly it won't make a difference. Though I sincerely wish people I work with would get more protection.

Queens statement

"My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan's desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.
"Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives.
"It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK.
"These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days."

Diana had so many clothes that a staff sitting room was turned into a walk in wardrobe!

If H is really going to NY later this month then it surely can’t be a visa issue that brought them back? Would you risk re entering a country if you thought the government was scrutinising your dodgy visa.

More likely a money thing then. (Unless we get an announcement he’s video linking .

Yes, that's much more likely as he is a full-time dad after all . . . .

Zara Tindall is a patron of quite a few charities , many of which do indeed focus on equine welfare.

ROR supports the welfare and retraining of retired racehorses.
World Horse Welfare: Focuses on improving the lives of horses through rescue and education.
Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund: Helps individuals injured in horse-related accidents.
Catwalk Spinal Cord Injury Trust and UK Spinal Injuries Association: Funds research and support for spinal cord injuries.
Riding for the Disabled Association: Provides therapeutic riding for disabled individuals.

But also:

Lucy Air Ambulance for Children: The UK's first dedicated air transfer service designed to fly critically ill infants and children to urgent hospital care.
Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children: She continues a long-standing family history of supporting this prominent children's medical facility.
Cancer Research UK: Supports cancer research and awareness initiatives.

While all of that work is admirable, I think it is unlikely that an ordinary professional event rider would have the means or the time to support so many charities, or indeed would be asked to do so , so it’s clear that some of her charity work has come about because she is royal even if she is not an official working royal. But of course the main distinction is that as a private individual she doesn’t receive tax payer public money.

So why is it so bad that as a private individual Harry also wants to do charity work and earn money on the side too?

So why is it so bad that as a private individual Harry also wants to do charity work and earn money on the side too?
I think they should do exactly that, but Harry and Meghan don’t want that. Harry and Meghan want to arrive at events and be treated like visiting royalty, not like private individuals. They want to be transported there in a convoy of vehicles with outriders so that no one can fail to notice how important they are. They want the red carpet rolled out and to be treated exactly as KC or PW would be.

I recently saw Zara and Mike on a train, just coming back from London, carrying their own bags and generally behaving like normal people. I think hell will freeze over before Meghan gets on a train from London Paddington to Moreton in the Marsh or wherever they’re camping out, carrying her own dress bag and shopping and unaccompanied by an entourage.
