King Charles orders Harry and Meghan to be treated like ordinary citizens

Apparently an order has gone out from King Charles saying that Harry and Meghan are to be treated like ordinary citizens as they are not working members of the royal family. That's according to the DM so it must be right. The thought of those two being pleased at being ordinary is too much.

I wonder just how low they will keep their profile and if it's to do with them wishing to be involved in charities. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to set up their own mock royal court.

Okay I will spell it out. In the past...

1. Royalists called for removal of Harry's titles.
2. Everyone else said, only if you remove Andrew's.

If Harry has similar titles removed to the ones Andrew has removed (and not just ones not removed, but where he has agreed not to use them), then it's all fine.

Being an important person is not synonymous with being royal. Many celebrities have the red carpet rolled out.

I hope H&M will start to respect the privacy of other people’s children and stop being photographed with them at charity events and on their “tours” etc to exploit their images for publicity and to promote their own brand.
Their own children’s faces they protect at great lengths but they don’t give two hoots about the privacy of other children, including disadvantaged children. This seems so deeply and disturbingly exploitative.

I agree Meghan had no idea what being a royal meant but then didn't seem to want to find out either.

I do not know who is funding the faux royal tours - or what can be done about it TBH - I assume Palace had a reason for the recent statement setting out the position - to make it clear where everyone stood and it's clear from reaction I think Harry at least is upset by that.

I don't think any children should be photographed in public like this. But I am an equal opportunity objector and want the royals to stop doing it as well.

Meghan is only important because of the family she married into. She would not be received like this is she hadn't married Harry.

I heavily criticise Andrew elsewhere. Given I work with sex trafficked victims it would be wrong of me not to condemn him

Like Catherine. I like her, so this is not personal, but they both married into the royal family.
Or Camilla. Before her marriage to Charles the public only knew her name for having an affair with Charles.

As long as that difference (between celebrity and official royalty) is clear to everyone. It should be now!

It always was. And harry and Meghan will carry on doing charity work and getting lots of media coverage.

I'm glad the palace has re-issued the statement, if for no other reason than to stop the chatter on whether they were back as working royals. But I do worry about them going rogue and being funded to make mischief by AN Other Moneybags, especially in the Commonwealth. Especially now Harry's hopes of coming back to royal life |(if he had them) have been dashed. He's spiteful, and she just wants adulation and won't care how it affects the UK.

I'm guessing that for now they will continue with their plans, which according to Roya Nikkah on Times Radio this afternoon include a whole host of charity appearances by Harry in the coming weeks. I suspect that he's hoping that lots of people will come out to see him, that his enduring popularity will speak for itself and (cynically) that something will happen to prove to everyone that he needs taxpayer funded security.

It will be interesting to see how many organisations and indeed countries are willing to host H&M going forward after this clarification.

I wonder if that is why Harry may be upset.

He may have Prince on his birth certificate but that won’t assist with the association or connection with the RF that most would seek.

I suppose only those with a need for a useful idiot would welcome him/them. But how useful is he now? That letter would have limitations to any plans in the pipeline I think.

Neither Catherine nor Camila behave in any way other than consorts of their husbands doing royal duties to further the interests of the nation they serve. They don't rock up to random countries in their own free time expecting speaking platforms and awards for their own greatness, as Meghan does.

It is up for debate what M did before she married into the royal family.

I don’t think previous history concerning Catherine or indeed Camilla could ever possibly compare.

How do you think they will fund their charity work though? Are you not even the least bit suspicious that the letter was issued because there was a misapprehension that public funding would
be used? What is there to be gained by the Sussexes from charity work if no funding is available? Especially as they don’t seem to have done much charity work while they were in the States. What is so different about doing it here other than they thought they could get freebies?
