King Charles orders Harry and Meghan to be treated like ordinary citizens

Apparently an order has gone out from King Charles saying that Harry and Meghan are to be treated like ordinary citizens as they are not working members of the royal family. That's according to the DM so it must be right. The thought of those two being pleased at being ordinary is too much.

I wonder just how low they will keep their profile and if it's to do with them wishing to be involved in charities. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to set up their own mock royal court.

Now now.

No-one is wishing them harm.

i don’t know if you’ve seen Alan Partridge.

Like the upset zombie, I only see one person getting close to frothing.

That’s an ugly and unfounded accusation.

You seem to think that Harry needs Ravec security because of a failed kidnapping plot before he was born. That’s ludicrous.

Also that Harry should have Ravec protection because he wants it. That’s not how it works.

Harry and his wife and children will get the protection that Ravec says he needs based on their expert assessment. And that assessment wi be ongoing. That’s logical, fair and warranted.

Very glad to see that post has been deleted.

Harry has always failed to understand that his popularity wasn’t because of his winning personality and brilliance, it was because of the RF.
The RF also managed to hide his shortcomings and sold him as the lovable, relatable cheeky chappie. He then left and has shown himself not to be that at all. Opening his mouth to show himself as not very bright, spoiled, man child.

Er…I’m sorry to disillusion you but on this thread (and others) I’m mostly chuckling and occasionally guffawing and spitting out my coffee.

Frothing, spewing bile or vitriol…not so much.

Sorry about that.

LivelyGreyShark · 07/09/2026 21:33

Are people still going on about this? it feels like there's been a thread slating them every single day since they left the UK.

Same, I was kidding.

But I am happy that King Charles had spoken clearly and clarified their <lack of> roles because they seem to have continually grown bolder with the faux royal act.

Also because the leak and lie and it was galling to see them get away with it.

He’s spoken now and that will put an end to the guessing games.

CoffeeCantata · 07/09/2026 21:35

Slight derail - sorry!

This is a genuine question for H &M sympathisers on here…

Why do you think they have returned to the UK?

Pallisers · 07/09/2026 21:35

I think a surprising number of people miss the days when the king could have ordered them sent to the tower.

This feels worth going on about so yes, we’re going on about it. Thanks for asking.

Have you been keeping a bingo card? I reckon you'd have a full house by now.

Well, yes, because she is the Queen😳

Shes not though is she. Its all getting more and more cringe. As if she's the queen. I was happy for them, but this was the last straw for me.

Ooh - can you answer my question above? It’s a genuine question.

I’m asking supporters and sympathisers of H&M why they think they have returned to the UK.

DryadsRest · 07/09/2026 21:39

This is the most interesting part of the statement- if H and M are like private citizens then surely queries about courtesies should go to them not King Charles!

“Any specific questions from official and State organisations about the courtesies which should be extended to the Duke and Duchess, and particularly where recourse to public funds may be required, should be directed to Buckingham Palace”

PleaseDontAsk · 07/09/2026 21:39

Camilla is the wife of the King. So yes, she's Queen.

What are you on about? Of course she's the queen. The wife of the king is the queen.

Yes she is the Queen. She is the wife of the King which makes her the Queen. Not the monarch like QE2, obviously. But the Queen. Like the wife of George vi and Goerge v etc. Like Wallis would have been if Edward viii had stayed as king. Do you not understand how this works? Or are you implying that Diana (who is dead so it would be a bit of a problem) is Queen?
