King Charles orders Harry and Meghan to be treated like ordinary citizens

Apparently an order has gone out from King Charles saying that Harry and Meghan are to be treated like ordinary citizens as they are not working members of the royal family. That's according to the DM so it must be right. The thought of those two being pleased at being ordinary is too much.

I wonder just how low they will keep their profile and if it's to do with them wishing to be involved in charities. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to set up their own mock royal court.

I can’t get worked up about paying for his security. He has to have to it by virtue of his birth, not his life choices, so I don’t see why he should fund it.

How is KC3 more infuential on RAVEC than QE2 was - especially given the lenght of her reign? If QE2 couldn't get RAVEC to consider security for the HAMs as they exited royal life how could KC3?

No he doesn’t. His aunt and uncle didn’t when they were children of the monarch, nor do they now they are siblings of the monarch. Only when they are representing the monarch. He isn’t going to do that so no security 🤷‍♀️

Well, it's also about status in the sense that RAVEC assess not only the likelihood of an attack on an individual, but also the impact a potential attack might have on national security.

I think we can agree that such an impact would be minimal in Harry's case.

Anne and Edward didn’t have 24/7 security and their mother was Queen .
I am absolutely certain that H and his wife DO want security at the same level ( if more) as W and C .

It doesn’t work like that, you do know Ann, Andrew and Edward didn’t get round the clock security just because they were children of the monarch? Harry isn’t special as much as he likes to think he is.

@myrtleWilsoni don’t believe that QE2 wanted H&M to have public funded security as non working royals. I do believe though that KC3 wants it for them. KC3 seems way more out of touch with the public than QE2 and also way less concerned with his own public duty than was QE2.

Absolutely! Princess Anne was once the victim of a kidnapping attempt at gunpoint - she only gets security when she's on official royal duties.
