King Charles orders Harry and Meghan to be treated like ordinary citizens

Apparently an order has gone out from King Charles saying that Harry and Meghan are to be treated like ordinary citizens as they are not working members of the royal family. That's according to the DM so it must be right. The thought of those two being pleased at being ordinary is too much.

I wonder just how low they will keep their profile and if it's to do with them wishing to be involved in charities. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to set up their own mock royal court.

Oh, ho ho! Now THAT one’s my personal favourite, Iced.

It truly is one for the connoisseur, I feel. In fact, I confess I’ll be a little disappointed if it doesn’t make an appearance.😟

Yes, it's top tier I agree.

It usually comes in conjunction with another favourite. 'I'm not a fan of Harry and Meghan, but I just can't understand the hate they get'.

The quid pro quo of this should be that H&M's children are left absolutely and completely alone and the national press are not allowed to publish any details of their lives (schools etc) that might put them at risk.

I am not a fan of Harry and Meghan but in the absence of any public position for them and publicly funded security for their children, there should be an absolute ban on publishing any information that might make the kids a target. We should be given absolutely no details of their lives except what the parents choose to publish (and if they're wise, they'll very limit that).

It’s their mother they need to worry about, not the British press.

H&M continue to pursue half in half out to get other people to fund their ridiculous lifestyle, be that money from charities they “support” aka are supported by or by fleecing the tax payer to provide £5M a year for security that no other non working royal has and way more security than even Princess Anne has. They clearly still use HRH too. The reign of KC3 looks like a joke right now. Why should tax payers suffer daily from lack of policing and security in their own lives whilst Prince Harry swans around with armed police motorcades on his way out for a coffee.

Have you missed the statement from Charles?

There's no evidence they are getting '£5M a year for security', or any other sort of taxpayer funded security.

This is getting too ridiculously like "South Park":
"Don't look at our children!
Waddya mean, you're not looking? The children over there in all those photos! The ones we drop cute little anecdotes about!
Like the one who's in the Gloria Steinem photo that we chose to show!
The ones at Althorp (probably) with cute flowers like you might put on a grave.
See them? Can you?
Well, stop looking!"

🙄

I think @Motuihewas replying to your post in humour!

I’m sorry to have misinterpreted your post, Motuihe. This thread is moving at lightning speed and there have been a few of what I like to term “pigeon posts” to deal with!

They are already pretending to be working royals. Quote 'Prince Harry has announced his first public engagement.' A sky dive for a military charity. Do ordinary citizens have 'public engagements'. Not as far as I'm aware. Didn't take long.

He's still a public figure and extremely famous. Lots of charities, especially military charities, are going to be thrilled to have a famous, well-connected, ex-military member of the Royal Family (working or otherwise, he's still a royal by blood) engage with them. There is obviously going to be interest in what he's doing, and him saying he's doing that is allowed. Do you think he's going to be getting a civil service job and kicking back watching Traitors of an evening or something cos daddy Charles says he's not a working royal?

I’m still wondering just why have they returned? It was so sudden, and also followed an interview with Harry when he said he absolutely would not be bringing Meghan and the DCs to the UK. Yet here they are…

visa "ran out"

drivinmecrazy · 07/09/2026 19:40

Oh my goodness!
I don’t think I’ve seen the pro H&M supporters as vocal as they are this evening.
something has really stung.
The truth maybe?

Princessfluffy · 07/09/2026 19:41

@IcedPurpleexactly - there is no clarity at all as to who is paying for their security but it’s clear that Harry expects the UK tax payer to fund it and KC3 is not willing to pay for it himself.

Getting a civil service job would require at least a basic level of discipline, intelligence and work ethic.

The past 7 years have shown that Harry has none of the above. He could always point at his crotch in his wife's hospital twerking videos, so there's that.

I think @Viviennemary has a life.

One cannot type if one is dead.

I do so wonder at those telling others to ‘get a life’.

May I ask what their lives are like that they feel obliged to reprimand others for having an opinion?

And if knowing someone is a prerequisite to commenting on someone, then do they know those they are telling off?

Well, Charles' letter has reiterated that security is a matter for the relevant authorities to decide. The Sussexes will be provided with whatever level of security, if any, is deemed appropriate by Ravec. And that's basically that.

The UK press has announced several times that they will not make public the school out of consideration for the kids.

And, of course, all of the pupils at the school

He could do a Christmas advert for Lizzie Arden rubbing cream?

Well done Charles, and rightly so! I bet they are seething (tee hee!).

Why would they be? And also, why are you desperate for them to be? That's what needs analysis.
King Charles's office is inundated with enquiries about H&M (as usual) and they clarify what was agreed between the family several years ago. So put simply, nothing has changed. It doesn't seem like there is anything to see here, folks!
Why can't some people let this couple be? This obsession is a disorder.

I can think of a few charities that won’t be on that list!

It was a popular phrase with yr8s about 25 years ago. You don't hear it much now.

“Especially military charities”?? Are you on glue? (To quote an oft used MN phrase of yore). It’s pretty unrepeatable what the military think of Harry. Let alone the fact that he skipped a memorial to murdered marines to schmooze the Disney boss and tout his wife for work
