Robert Jonson (who I think is reliable) reckons RAVEC will cave

I really hope he’s wrong.
Why would they open the floodgates like that?

And Soros funded one of their overseas 'tours' previously, didn't he? How interesting.

I think so, behind Colombia, Ukraine and possible Oz. Lots of comments in X about it. I guess there is no worry about the funding for Invictus after all.

Older retired woman catching up with new thread .
When do English schools return ?

'Womble'???

Is that a misspelling?!

That's exactly what I thought when I first heard of this firm. They represented the Post Office in the Horizon scandal. The firm seems to be quite large, and will have hundreds, if not thousands of lawyers to choose from, but from an optics point of view I'm glad there will be no indirect association between Sentable and the Post Office scandal. In true MN style there are some incredible threads that followed the Post Office hearings.

Apologies if this is has already been discussed (and also for my tendency to disappear into internet rabbit holes).

Apparently, the "woman never meant to rule" is HAM's daughter, in which case this book is written in extremely bad taste - not least because it imagines the deaths of people still alive.

Please tell me I have misunderstood.

From the previous thread
Meg now claiming she can't do school run because of security. Odd as it has been claimed she never did it in Cali

The more HaM publicly discuss this security thing, the more attention is inevitably drawn to the children’s school and school's routines. People who previously had no idea which school they attend can become curious, start searching and fuel speculations, which increases interest in the school. This impacts all the young children including those whose parents haven’t chosen to have their dc' school life put under a spotlight. Discussing security in regards to the school puts all the pupils at a potential risk.

It's so self-centred and not going gain them many friends at the school.

Saying she can’t do the school run because it’s “unsafe” is also a very convenient explanation for Meghan not being seen publicly, if the plan is to spend more time back in California.

Sums them up. Total disregard for everyone else, including young children. They are utterly shameless. I totally understand the RF grey rocking but it will get to the stage where something will have to be done. I'm not sure what though

I’d like to tell you that you have misunderstood but unfortunately I cannot! , yes it’s very poor taste….particularly in light of the rumour that Meghan herself was apparently heard to say “ we are only a plane crash away from the throne “ …..I assumed this tidbit was bollocks but seeing a well known ham supporter ( yes… he is and remains that way despite his occasional comments) putting that in print makes it seem even more likely that it was true!

AutumnCrowInEmeritoVeritas · 01/09/2026 14:08

PullTheBricksDown · 01/09/2026 13:27

😱😱 Of course, if they've paid to have all those spare copies of The Bench shipped over here, Meghan can offer them as extra school reading books, complete with a personal appearance by the author at very reasonable rates.

Ah yes, in the words of her fellow WhatApp aficionado, Ms Vardy, 'I want paying for this'.

<huffing and puffing, racing to catch up>

This 8 hr time difference really puts me behind the curve!

Thanks for the new thread @BigWillyLittleTodger . I'm going to pour myself another cup of coffee, open the windows, and start reading!

BasiliskStare · 01/09/2026 14:12

I don't think H&M will publicise the first day at school etc. Equally I hope any MSM doesn't (or indeed others)

Re Ravec . I believe they will take no notice of the many many people who have commented on articles about H's security saying they disagree he should have taxpayer funded security. Equally they will take no notice of H's letter and leaks. He'll get what he gets. If he gets some , in some measure , he ought to be aware that will be very unpopular with the general public. & he really out to remind himself of his and wife's current popularity ratings.

I think regarding billionaire friends helping them out. Well to a large extent I can't get terribly worked up about this. With the exception of , if H finds himself indebted to people who have an agenda , he needs to make doubly sure that he does not allow any misapprehension that he is speaking for the WRF / Govt etc if he makes public speeches. Otherwise I think he may stray into Selling Sunninghill territory.

OliveMyLove · 01/09/2026 14:17

Retired from what, dear? We’re not supposed to have worked at all.

AustenitesUnite · 01/09/2026 14:18

My late DGF had a saying for every occasion and a favourite was "Keep your friends close & your enemies closer"

If he had lived to see the antics of the Sussexes, I think he would have realised that sometimes this isn't the best policy . . .

At first I thought this was some AI construct but no, it's an actual book by rob shuter, a British-American journalist, gossip columnist and author.

A royal tragedy destroys the line of succession, unleashing a queen no one expected and a monarchy that may not survive her.

Fifteen years from now, a catastrophic helicopter crash over Balmoral Castle obliterates the line of succession in a single, devastating moment, plunging the British monarchy into its darkest crisis in centuries.

From the wreckage, a new power rises out of Montecito…but not the one the world is watching.

At the center stands a young woman never meant to rule—overlooked, underestimated, and suddenly crowned Queen Elizabeth III. What she inherits is not a fairytale, but a battlefield—a fractured family, a restless public, and an institution collapsing under the weight of its own secrets.

She didn’t come to save the monarchy. She came to rebuild it.

From the gilded halls of Buckingham Palace to the electric pulse of modern London, Elizabeth’s ascent is as dangerous as it is dazzling. Armed with ruthless instinct, sharp intelligence, and one wildly unexpected weapon—a tiny bakery called Betty Bake—she begins to tear down centuries of tradition and remake the crown in the public’s image.

Behind palace walls, a forbidden love story ignites—intense, volatile, and impossible to survive. Because in this world, love is power…and power is lethal. Alliances will shatter, secrets will detonate, and loyalty may be the deadliest currency of all.

Because once she takes the throne, there is no turning back.

Perhaps a reminder that the Walse family will do well not travelling all together.

bluegreygreen · 01/09/2026 13:13

People have an article showing all the times they’ve shared photos of their children including ones with their full faces.

Do you have a link, @OliveMyLove?

I do but feel crappy about posting it after repeatedly saying they should be protected.

You’ve seen all the photos, I’m sure. Some are professional, some holiday cards, etc. Yes, usually it’s just a bit of the face but enough are full face that it would be easy to spot them in public.

Aprilfountain · 01/09/2026 14:26

Are they still trying to get Ravec to review security, I thought it was established during the summer visit that there would be no change to Ham's security detail?

DandyAF · 01/09/2026 14:26

OliveMyLove · 01/09/2026 13:05

But given that Harry has attacked his own security at times, maybe not a laughing matter.

Well it was tongue in cheek, wry tbh. There was some truth to it as I said.

Me too but I think now that he's permanently living here, he's entitled to it

Starryfifty · 01/09/2026 14:30

Regarding RAVEC, if anyone can answer. Before Megxit, did H have the bells and whistles security he is now demanding???

HeirNspareBNB · 01/09/2026 14:31

I think yes, because he was a working royal.

DandyAF · 01/09/2026 14:31

OliveMyLove · 01/09/2026 12:15

Harry and family will get the security they need, obviously.

I am more interested in the media angle, anyway.

What do you think about Charlotte Griffiths’ report that she was alerted by Harry as to the place and time of the secret peace summit last year so that the Daily Mail would cover it?

Edited

Sorry wasn't ignoring this, I'd started a reply and then had to go out.

I think that CG's report is most likely true; I can fully believe Harry would do that. I think that he feels he is entitled to security, and he feels entitled to the public knowing that he is seeing his father. I think he feels very wronged and is trying to get what he justly sees as his right. He is hypocritical and probably bitter, and it will make sense to him to do contradictory things.

Well no he’s not entitled to it, but at least when he was visiting, a case by case solution was appropriate. If they are living here permanently, it creates a different set of issues. But he is not entitled to security per se

SqueakyDinosaur · 01/09/2026 14:34

The Rob Shuter book lays him open to a charge under the 1351 and 1397 Treason Acts of "compassing the death of the King or his heir". Sadly the maximum sentence was commuted from death to life imprisonment, though not till 1998.

OMG that blurb is so AI!

Also Shuter missed a trick with this: '... and one wildly unexpected weapon—a tiny bakery called Betty Bake'

It should have been called Cake Betty. Duh.

I think yes, because he was a working royal.

And a hangover from the pre- George days when he was next in LOS to William. So it made sense at that point that he had the same security. But with three others now in his place, his constitutional significance has dropped, plus then he opted out of the working royal role.
