i can imagine Meghan will want the teachers emails so she can start sending 6am demands about book levels and sets.

I'm not a VB fan but she did something she had a flair for. Fashion and makeup. She excels at it and tbf, worked hard, didn't upset the right people, etc

No - I wasn't whitewashing PP's remarks - they are/were unacceptable.
All I was saying was that I don't believe he was a crude racist. It was much more nuanced than that - he had massive respect for tribal people (could give loads of egs, but won't bore you here!) and a great interest in them.
I'm sure he was a man of his time with the attitudes of 'othering' and condescension to other ethnic groups, for sure. I think it was at that level - othering, rather than vicious racism. Not OK, but much more socially acceptable in the mid-late 20th century

I saw a television documentary about this once and I’ve never forgotten it. I agree wholeheartedly with CoffeeCanata that PP had a massive respect for tribal people and showed great interest in them.

Ive met lots of old school expats like him over the years and if you were willing to look behind their demeanour/not stereotype them I found they were anything but racists and had an acceptance/affinity with others that made a mark on me.

Well I never got round to thinking you for the previous thread @BigWillyLittleTodger so this will have to do double duty.

My last one started school today but sadly no paps were there, at least I think not as I chucked her out of the car without looking, let's see what happens at Dothebys Hall for the Exceptionally Gifted and Talented this week, oh dear I named the school.

I’m a 68 year old crossfitting/training for a hyrox event quiet kind of hellraiser who loves a laugh. In fact one of my children said just last week mama, next time you go on holiday can you please not make it an adventure and just take a book instead.

There’s loads of details in the public domain that show he’s racist, no ifs or buts or justifications possible. You can still be interested in indigenous tribes and be racist; indeed sometimes they go hand in hand.

I’ve had two family friends who were very close to Phillip in different roles in different countries. Both have said he was racist. One was head of police in an Asian country and would have to arrange security for when Philip had young local Asian women visit him for paid sex (he wasn’t young at the time). Pretty sure that’s sort of behaviour by him was reported and known.

In terms of children being taught the concepts of pockey money, budgets, frugality and family money, I think a key reason why it's important is that it shows very privileged children how everybody else has to live. This becomes even more crucial where those privileged children are likely to grow up to become employers and/or in charge of other people and other peoples' assets. If an adult doesn't understand how the vast majority of people in society live, then they will never, ever find their place.

Another (related) reason for the 'don't flash the cash' rule is not to build resentment.

Harry seems to have slipped through this net of the U rules, and that has to be placed at the door of Diana and Charles, two disney parents in permanent competition with each other. I don't think either of them were capable of dealing with a tantrum so just continually gave into him - including telling the staff to give into him. 'Oh just let him have it or he'll go on all day.'

I wonder if the poor teachers are already quaking in their boots. Although I expect the nannies will be doing the drop offs (if they can find one willing to work for them).

We're only one or two catastrophic car chases away from forking out I imagine.

If RAVEC do give them security I'm confident it will be because the intelligence warrants it. Of couse Harry will claim it as a victory but when has he ever shown any awareness of the realities of life.

If there is a genuine threat that requires armed security he should have it, for as long as that threat is a genuine risk.

I would love the same to be available for ordinary people at risk from violent ex-partners.
