A shiny new thread for September Sussex shenanigans!

This move to the Cotswolds is going to be a real leveller for the Sussexes.

It’s very easy to fly under the radar if you want to and the Cotswolds is chock full of people far wealthier than HaM that manage this very successfully.

We’ve had 6 years of HaM stateside making sure they are seen, leaking to journalists, inviting themselves to events and even going as far as self-nomination and buying their own awards. They had barely landed before they were conveniently spotted at Birmingham airport.

The HAM motto is like a quote from Top Gun:
I feel the need,the need for speed to be seen’!

(although ‘speed’ could also come into it, who knows😉)

A real leveller for them? They're going to hate that.

Because it was obviously relevant to what we were discussing last night. Without scrolling back I can't tell you if I was the first to use that word or if, more likely, I was reacting to someone else using it.

And no I don't expect them to be treated differently. But obviously it matters in terms of privacy and why a school may ask for privacy for the children. I'm surprised this needs to be explained to you.

The whataboutism and deflection because I said something that people don't like but which is highly likely to be true is funny.

And I think there has been more than one occasion recently when I have seen her walking between engagements in London (not personally but I watch too much YouTube!)

I have also seen the clip where she is walking in the pouring rain ~ one of her entourage passes her an umbrella and PA passes the umbrella onto a lady walking beside her and smiles & makes a joke about it. It really does illustrate class and a lack of self-importance

Unfortunately for the kids, HAM will do absolutely anything to stay relevant and yes that includes using their kids. Hello photoshoot with kids, constant photos and interviews about how intelligent the King's darling GC are blah blah. It's all they have left.

Well no, because a school won’t have to ask for privacy for specific students because all students will have the expectation of privacy. That is why them being famous is irrelevant. So no it doesn’t need to be explained because it is incorrect to say that a school needs to ask for privacy specifically for the Sussexes

The only couple that come to mind are the Clooneys, but to be honest I don't know where they live during term time or if their children go to school.

Harry and Meghan are the only modern celebrities I can think of, apart from the Beckhams and the Kardashians, who are deliberately putting their children in the public eye.

No worries! The idea that the Sussexes are the most famous parents of any young children in the UK is quite risible.
They'd certainly love to be the most famous, and I'm sure they have that status in some people's minds.
The whole thing is an unnecessary mess.
I really don't know what they're trying to do.

I see mn has bizarrely deleted our Timothy claypole posts!!! , I didn’t realise that us being huge rentaghost fans was against guidelines! , I mean it’s not new to most here, I have messaged mn to find out what is going on ! ,hopefully we will find out the issue.

The whole discussion for me highlights that they are outliers in using their children on social media. Most families who are extremely famous internationally don't do that anymore.

I have to agree with @LemonDash on this point ie H&M are preturnaturally famous. Are they famous in a good way? Are they infamous? by the by. H and since their marriage M are very very very famous indeed and probably (I have no idea ) the most famous parents at whichever school it is. However , they are not alone in being famous , rich etc and to throw their fame about I don't think will win friends or influence people in a prep school in a , to say the least , well heeled area of the country . As people have used as an example , the Clooneys , I wouldn't even know if they had sons or daughters. I think H&M because of the instagram stuff will need to earn a bit of trust with other parents as far as childrens' publicity goes. I'm probably conflating two or more points here. Sorry. As you all were.

Yes, I think that's the point. Just with the examples of the Clooneys and the Starmers, it's very clear to see the difference in parental objectives.

I didn't say they needed to I said why they may. have sent the letter. The school sent out a letter recently and it was reported as probably being a result of the Sussex children joining. Maybe it's just coincidental, but you'd have to ask the school why they sent it.

There was complete relevance to what I said and if people hadn't been so determined to disagree over something that is quite obvious this conversation wouldn't have continued to the morning. Indeed. The Clooneys use their wealth and status to protect their children. The Sussexes do exactly the opposite.

There were several news stories yesterday in HAM-favourable outlets saying that Meghan was scared to do the school run without armed police protection

Personally I think it's just another angle they are attempting to get their security back but tugging on the heartstrings by using the kids - I presume they would have their private security team

Yes, that's exactly what's happening. Plus, I can't remember what Amal and George have called their children, but it's nothing too distinctive or unusual.
