I agree KC could show support for injured service people/Invictus competitors by holding a reception rather than attending the opening ceremony.

H can carry on with his charities, including Invictus, as a private individual. No need for a Royal endorsement which could be seen as a step to HiHo.

Hostamenace689 · 31/08/2026 18:45

I don’t tend to go in for idols as it happens Pigglywigglyohyeah

Not on week days anyway. 😉

I apologise if I went too far in my post.

I genuinely do think Meghan suffered bc she wasn’t a typical blonde aristocrat, just as Catherine did when she encountered snobbery because of her class and her mother being former cabin crew.

And I definitely think Meghan encountered extra nastiness because of her mixed race heritage and if I am totally honest, yes, I thought you were hinting at that too Pigglywigglyohyeah by making comments about her hair etc but I am more than happy to apologise for getting that wrong.

Ffs 😂

The media do like to earn clicks by generating conflict where there is none.

Thankfully, this is not and never will be a remote possibility.

Hi all.

Just popping back on the thread with a gentle reminder to keep things focused on the topic, please. Back-and-forth arguments between posters can quickly take the discussion off track and make it less enjoyable for everyone else taking part.

We'd really appreciate it if everyone could move on and stick to the original discussion. If the arguing continues, we'll need to start removing posts that derail the thread or breach our Talk Guidelines.

Thanks all. 🌷

One of my friends husbands has a bottle of whisky (still unopened after many years) which the then Prince Charles gave him. My friends husband was badly injured whilst serving in the military and Prince Charles visited him in hospital after he was flown back to the UK.

I don't think this was an isolated visit by PC and I don't think it was covered in the press. I believe he has always been supportive of service personnel but does it in his own way

LemonDash · 31/08/2026 18:52

He said he didn’t know MM was mixed race and in all honesty with that dark, straight hair and rather pale skin unless you had read about her you might not hve known.

@DaisyDooley Danny Baker didn't say this, he said that he didn't know who the mother of the royal baby was. He said so in an interview with the Daily Mail and elsewhere.

What @SqueakyDinosaur says follows, he absolutely should have known.

Back to H&M's PR strategy, I agree Harry is trying to force things.

Thedom · 31/08/2026 18:53

Harry is SO unpopular and his PR push, specifically around his British security now, is only serving to make him more unpopular.

There are comments all over SM and in media comments about how disgusting it is to see him using his children as ‘human shields’ in his attempts to manipulate the government and RAVEC. He should NEVER have used his kids school drop off/ pick ups in his diatribe about him not being happy with his security.

He is feeding the media hourly it seems and it is just creating more and more revulsion around his antics.

twatwrangler · 31/08/2026 18:56

If there is an absolute credible threat to him? He should be protected.

It shouldn’t mean he has access to the intelligence. Just protection.

And I don’t think shooting one’s mouth off to attract attention from the likes of the Taliban should count.

A bit of sense and schtum needs to be deployed.

If the rest of us started gobbing off about kill counts or setting targets on people, we’d be lifted.

Or sectioned.

twatwrangler · 31/08/2026 18:57

And only protection for the relevant period of time. Not ongoing.

I think anyone who thinks Princess Michael is in any way representative of the entire RF is mistaken.

Edited to substitute "representative" to make better sense.

Edited

The late queen hated her with a passion apparently! , it’s why they never received a title and she could only go by his.

Almost as good as this popularity push.

Stop trying to make royalling happen.

You would be better off putting a ginger toupee (or a crown) on an egg.

Hostamenace689 · 31/08/2026 19:04

I think at this point, H&M’s PR strategy is to bombard and confuse and I can’t really blame them because whatever they say or do at this stage is trashed and criticised.

Rather than trying to blind-side, isn’t it equally possible that they are keeping their plans close to their chest because literally everything they do or say is pored over in huge detail by the press and by commentators on social media and not in a particularly positive way?

I do think they tried to keep their heads down previously and still the stories about them kept rolling in for all of the financial reasons previously discussed. MM in particular has been quite quiet for the last eighteen months or more. And as that hasn’t really worked, they have decided to brief different things to different people. It’s actually quite clever and they are certainly filling the airwaves.

The DM and all of the journalists he implicated in his latest court case are hardly likely now to give H fair coverage, so he doesn’t have a lot to lose at this point.

twatwrangler · 31/08/2026 19:05

Au contraire.

I have a feeling that H&M’s coverage will be exceedingly fair.

jeffgoldblum · 31/08/2026 19:07

They brief and leak ( is it really leaking when we now all know they have their very own WhatsApp chat group with journalists?) everything themselves, no sympathy, they want it out there and they want us to know it .

This isn’t meant to be a provocative question; is he not allowed to be genuinely worried about his children? Especially given what he witnessed as a child?

I think saying that he is using his dc as a “human shield” is a bit extreme to be honest. He may feel that his dc are safer in British schools than American ones?

There is zero chance that Meghan walked into meeting Harry blindly. Does anyone believe she just asked ‘is he kind?’ I mean seriously. As if. Of course she researched him and the royal family.

Researched him? Hell, she probably spent hours online doing research and had 20 single spaced colour-coded notebooks on every aspect of living as a Royal (highlighted in red for the things she was going to change). Along with a catalogue of not only Harry's likes and dislikes, but for the whole RF. With special notes on how to suck up to W & C.

Too bad none of it worked on anyone but Harry.

I believe she had constructed a motivational mood board for things she was hoping to get! 😁

I'm sure I read a story a long while ago that she found out what perfume Diana used to wear and started using the same perfume when she was dating H

What did Harry witness as a child ? What his mother went through was absolutely horrendous. The constant paps but that no long exists yet H seems to think it does

She said she knew nothing about the RF but she has photographs of her outside BP and an ex friend said she was observing with Diana

@Hostamenace689 "The DM and all of the journalists he implicated in his latest court case are hardly likely now to give H fair coverage, so he doesn’t have a lot to lose at this point."

I do have to say on this I do disagree with you. DM (ANL ) have just won a resounding victory against H( and to be fair not just him the other 6 claimants as well ) I very much doubt they (DM) are going to throw away the moral high ground with stories which don't abide by IPSO's code. I think for example on Palace Confidential Rebecca English said all the journalists she knows know the school H&M's children are going to but they will not reveal it. I think the MSM will do as they ever do. Some stories H&M won't like , I think they (the press ) will vary pro and anti stories to cover the bases for clicks but I don't think they will cross legal lines. If H&M would stop using "sources" , "friends of" to place stories and just keep quiet, the headlines / articles would dry up. Yes if H turns up to the Diana awards / WellChild etc it will be covered. But other than that they could cut off the leaked stories at source.

ETA I think saying H is using his children as a human shield is over the top language. Is he referring to them in a heart string tugging way ( eg his leak about Ravec - "the King's son and his grandchildren " ) yes I think he is using the children a bit.

Justdancevance · 31/08/2026 19:26

i think she issue is she has ‘annoying American superiority syndrome’ it’s like mansplaining but in an American accent with a side of waffle salad.

She tried to tell us we were backward, racist people for not recognising how she was going to bring the RF into the 21st century as she had played a lawyer on suits, written a letter to P&G when she was 11 and interned in Argentina for 6 weeks.

All parents are worried about their DC. H is entitled to have a greater degree of concern but common sense says keeping his families movements etc. totally private is the best protection.

Leaking info to the press is the opposite of protecting his DC.

Look how the children visited the UK in July, no one leaked their whereabouts until their Mum posted it on Instagram.

As other posters have pointed out the media do not post pictures etc. of George, Charlotte and Louis on the school run, taking part in weekend sport and private activities.

The same applies to Archie & Lilibet but their parents are leaking to the media. H & M need to stop and put their DCs welfare first.
