Yet another new thread for more Sussex shenanigans!

Of course - they are never going to need to worry about money, in the same way as the two princes sleeping rough for the homeless charity means that they know what homelessness is actually like. But it would have given them a bit of insight and empathy, you would hope, and made them think.

Similarly with money - just being given a limit would teach them something about responsibility - or even just the fact that things cost money, and don't magically appear!

The boy I mentioned had clearly not been over-indulged with material things and didn't turn his nose up at the 'paltry' prizes. And he was prepared to work for them!! All impressive to me.

H&M would do well to reflect on this.

It's not just about material things, it's good manners. Someone gives you something, no matter how small, you thank them.
That boy enjoyed the quiz and appreciated the prize. A wealthy family, but not an indulgent one.

Oh, please! I think MM is a difficult personality with possibly a personality disorder but let's not whitewash Prince Philips behaviour and comments.

All the drama all summer and Meghan’s IG followers have grown by by a small amount.

This PR strategy isn’t working. Her As ever followers are still small. She’s not going to shift large quantities of anything based on their current PR direction.

I don’t think they will get 24h security so will they stay or do a flounce back to montecito before Christmas with a new round of interviews.

I think Invictus can’t afford to pay for pseudo royal visits to countries so unless he gets UK security he’s grounded.

And yes I was told that many, not all, of the posters on these Harry & Meghan threads are conventional older ladies who are retired or don't work due to family money or a well-paid husband and who worship William and Kate. I thought that was maybe a sexist summary but hey

I am late to this party, but isn’t this interesting? For the above to be true, we are being asked to believe the following things simultaneously:

1. that the poster of the above (or indeed any poster) talks in RL about the contents of the MN H&M threads;
2. that the people to whom s/he talks have bothered to study these threads enough to form opinions on the demographics of those on the thread;
3. that a demographic called ‘conventional older ladies’ exists (presumably across continents);
4. that ‘who are retired or don't work due to family money or a well-paid husband’ is some sort of meaningful demographic measure;
5. that ‘who worship William and Kate’ is a likely state of being for a sentient section of the international population;
6. that any of the above is believable or reasonable.

Well, wearing my very active academic hat, I’d say firstly that this is a very piss-poor piece of goady piss-antism; and how fascinating it is to see the clumsy planting of feeble ‘attack lines’ from actual stans and PR gofers. Sociologically mildly fascinating. Thank you.

I assumed they were worming their way back to get a role in the RF as, in all honesty, that's all they have left. They have proven they are not capable of anything else.

I find this a very odd situation. Who were these eavesdroppers so close to K, G & C that they heard every word and then went running to the papers? Very intrusive. Also a 13 year old boy buying rubbers and pencils with his Mum? To me it’s either performative, intrusive or made up. Strange story.

There was a thread a while back about a woman helping her daughter make a "budget" for university, which just meant writing down all her expenses and then giving her mum that number as a sum to be given monthly.

She absolutely didn't accept the suggestions that her daughter budgeting meant CHOOSING what she could afford from a set amount that she couldn't change.

Couldn’t put it any better autumn ! , however again I will point out there is a section on Reddit that exists just to discuss mn and it’s posters! , and yes that is apparently the opinion of some, a few of us do get a personal mention, which is of course fabulous as usual.

Sorry, I should have made it clear that this was an old story. It happened when W&C were still living in KP and C used to take the children shopping in Kensington High Street. As Louis wasn't with them I would imagine George & Charlotte were attending school and Louis wan't, which gives an indication of how young they are

I often overhear conversations in shops. On a busy day everyone is at close quarters, trying to look at the same things. I can't explain why people pass these stories onto the press but I thought it was lovely and says a lot about how they are being brought up

No - I wasn't whitewashing PP's remarks - they are/were unacceptable.

All I was saying was that I don't believe he was a crude racist. It was much more nuanced than that - he had massive respect for tribal people (could give loads of egs, but won't bore you here!) and a great interest in them.

I'm sure he was a man of his time with the attitudes of 'othering' and condescension to other ethnic groups, for sure. I think it was at that level - othering, rather than vicious racism. Not OK, but much more socially acceptable in the mid-late 20th century.

Oh yes….i am in particular …..really Jeff goldblum …actually a man ….Camilla….another unnamed royal…..which is hilarious because I’m actually just a middle aged woman who likes to discuss the shenanigans with other like minded ladies ….not a mastermind of chaos at all! 🤣

I'd love to call her bluff and suggest she tries, though. She might be pleasantly surprised, or maybe horrified, to discover that there's no fuss at all!

I think I know which school has been indicated and I'd guess the parents there are the most discreet and unimpressed by celebs you could imagine.

And if press turned up I think the school would have a good case to send them away in these days of increased safeguarding and awareness of the damage it can do to children. Any press invading the school would immediately look very, very bad.
