Eton College Michaelmas Term starts next week which is not the same day as the prep school. There will definitely be a Wales photocall. I wish George well and I hope he gets his privacy and makes some wonderful new, loyal friends.

The Well Child Awards are the night before. Technically the dates don’t clash so there should be no conflict over the front pages?

I'm sure George would be delighted to start at Eton without making the front pages. Whereas Harry needs headlines to convince people he has something to offer, the actual Heir and his family just need to keep carrying out their constitutional roles. This is why I think the whole 'winning the publicity battle' by comparing column inches is bunkum.

Their new nanny/ nannies will have to be a Norland Nanny as that is what the Wales DC have .

Exactly my thinking

Oneatatimegently · 31/08/2026 10:19

Odeline · 31/08/2026 09:19

I doubt they have just the one nanny - probs need about 4 on rotation to over evenings, weekends and overnights when both parents are off grifting.

They must be sitting around an awful lot of the day when the kids are at school. Also I doubt either parent does much at all with their kids . What a life .

This thread is getting ridiculous.

Even if you loathe them, you have absolutely no idea or any proof at all of how much time they spend with their children. They could be very hands on parents for all you know.

Ironic that some of you are calling H & M horrible!

The level of ire directed at them for completely imagined faults or actions is becoming absurd! But why not just blindly follow the media circus?

If posters are half way decent they should leave discussions about M&H’s dc out of the threads imho.

But there are some like my mother 😬 🙄 who point blank refuse to see and believe it’s all the evil royal family’s, fault even though, you can explain till you are blue in the face. I’d blame dementia, but the woman is as Sharp as a tack.

It's fascinating in a horrible way, isn't it? When the bot-posters ask 'Why do you care? You don't know them" etc etc, I realise that I really DO care. And that's because it's a wider issue to me - it's about how we judge and value people, what character traits and behaviour we like and dislike.

To me, it's as plain as the nose on my face - and always has been - that H & M are not good people. It's all been said before - they're entitled, mean, spiteful, resentful, self-important, hypocritical - and more.

Add to that Harry's stupidity and Meghan's sly, insinuating, manipulative mean-girl-ness and you have a recipe for disaster.

I had misgivings when I saw Meghan at the engagement interview and photo-call, but wouldn't have said anything because I felt it was wrong to make such a rapid judgement...but others have said the same. To me, she oozed deviousness and a sense of 'Yessss! I've got my Prince! Here I come', but not in a good way. The fact that she was so confident in that context rang alarm bells - any normal person (man or woman) would have felt a bit over-awed, or at least had the grace to seem so, but not our Meghan. As we soon learned, she had come to show them all how to do royalling properly.

Harry needs to realise that, as for wanting the same security at KC and William, he turned his back on ALL of that. Why doesn't someone, a journo, a politician, RAVEC, just tell him that: you left royal life for freedom. Did you not realise that high-level, tax-payer-funded security was part of that? I'd love to hear his reply. He'd need to admit he was wrong, or that he acted impulsively and hadn't thought things through, wouldn't he? Basically that he's in idiot.

CoffeeCantata · 31/08/2026 10:33

I think you may be right.

Wow - I can see Meghan and a Norland nanny getting along well....NOT.

It's not about the children, it's about HAM's parenting. And where we're up to with that is that Harry appears to have moved his wife and children to a country where he has repeatedly said they are not safe, so that he can watch his eldest child play a game he's never yet played, and may not want to play, on Saturdays. I have my own opinions on what that says about his parenting.

Which of these "faults and actions" are "imagined"?.

I remember the papers reporting on William starting at Eton and it being reported that he asked his father, "which religion am I?" or similar. Was quite funny. We didn't have online gossip sites like MN so people didn't get themselves into a lather about it.
Pretty sure the RF aren't remotely concerned if it makes headline news or gets lower level coverage on account of other news - there's a lot going on at the moment at home and abroad.
The DM will report on Archie's first day for the clicks and to rile their readers. Pure and simple.

Ah here we go. Why on earth should Meghan pretend to seem over-awed if she wasn’t? The fact that a thirty-six year old successful actress who had made speeches on behalf of the UN was too confident and not sufficiently “demure” for the British royal family seems completely ridiculous to me in 2026.

I think the Sussex PR Machine is either putting out contradictory information deliberately, and/or H & M are leaking separately and mischievously because they don’t like each other very much, and/or Liam has lost control of what’s going out on WhatsApp and to whom.

And yes, various ‘royal reporters’ making up ‘sources’!

Meanwhile, the RF continues with Operation Grey Rock? (Hopefully.)

Yes, the conflicting briefings were clearly described in the PC YouTube episode.

If that was a non royal story ………

AIBU TO TELL HIM TO SOD OFF??
“,My grandson is a nice lad but not the brightest spark. We gave him a job in the family business after he left the army because no one else would employ him. As I said -he’s not very clever despite having a very expensive private education. He is jealous of his older brother who had a bigger bedroom when they were little.
He has had a couple of nice girlfriends - he couldn’t get either of them to marry him despite asking them both because he’s got a bit of a drug problem and he’s very immature. My husband says he’s a bit of a wanker (he’s ex navy, so he says it how it is).
He has got engaged to a divorced pushy American actress a few years older than him. It’s all been very fast. She won’t let him or us meet any of her family. We think it’s odd and have tried telling him but he won’t be told. His brother advised him to slow down as she might be a goldigger but it seems they got into a bit of a fight . He won’t listen to us, his brother, his dad or his friends.
We have got a family business and some inherited wealth so we are paying for everything for the wedding. His fiancée is very bossy about what she wants -yes, I know it’s her wedding but I find her very rude to people.
Anyway, our grandaughter is also getting married this year and we are paying for that too, Because she’s my blood I gave her first refusal on wearing a piece of my jewellry on her wedding day. She picked a nice piece I got from my mother which has emeralds in it. Of course then our grandsons fiancée said she wanted to wear it too. I told her no.
My grandson then phones me up -the next day- and shouts at me. He said “What Xxxxxxx wants, xxxxxxxGets!!’. I had to tell him she could pick something else to wear but grandaughter had already ‘bagged’ that piece. He wasn’t happy.
His older brother is married to a lovely girl and he will one day be CEO of the family business. The company rules state there can only be one CEO - grandson and his fiancée want me to change them (God! The paper work! The legal bill!) so they can both be CEOs too! I’ve told them no but they are not happy and just want more and more money!
Now he phones me up with demands and shouts at me. It’s got so bad I had to ask my friend and my cleaning lady to be here when he phones as he’s so horrible and it’s so upsetting. His granddad isn’t very well and I’m worried .
He has now also started demanding money off his father, my son, and he wants to move into my holiday cottage (we call it ‘the castle’ because it’s in Windsor!) and wasn’t pleased when I told him no, I use it with his grandad on a weekend.

I wont let his fiancée boss me about -although she tries- and I wont deny I’m worried about my grandson. He seems to be very much in love with her - whatever ‘in love means’ -but I don’t think it’s quite as mutual. I think she’s using him but I can’t prove it.
My cousin says he’s abusing me when he’s shouting. Is he? Is this elder abuse?
I just don’t know what to do anymore. I wondered about asking ‘Age Concern’ for advice.
Sorry this is so long. Thanks if you read this far.
Has anyone been in a position like this?

TL;DR How much rudeness do you take from your grandchildren when you are spending a small fortune on them? Does there come a point where you have to cut them loose?

Brilliant!

bluegreygreen · 31/08/2026 10:55

There is plenty of evidence that he is indeed a most unpleasant individual.

Agree.

@DaisyDooley's excellent list concentrated on his horrendous behaviour towards his family (which included our then Head of State).

There is then the documented physical assault on several people, including a photographer, musician, the Australian lifeguard, women at a house party - let alone the recent revelation of the 'white pill' story.

She never made speeches 'on behalf of the UN'.

She did she did!! And she climbed Mount Olympus and Zeus thanked her for her service and turned her into a god and all the argonauts were dancing in the streets of Delphi and all the trees sang beautiful music 🎶 and she was in many, many, televisual feasts for the eyes and taught Pericles democracy.

KilkennyCats · 31/08/2026 11:03

Is poor @Hostamenace689 referring to M’s appearance at the bus stop / roundabout?!
On behalf of the UN 😆

bluegreygreen · 31/08/2026 11:03

it's about how we judge and value people, what character traits and behaviour we like and dislike.

This is the essence of it really @CoffeeCantata.

It's not about valuing people because of who they are or the colour of their skin - it's about valuing them because of their character and their behaviour to others.

We know a lot about H&M's characters, and how they behave to others, because they have spent 6 years (and dome time before that) loudly telling us.

That's what some seem unable to understand.

Hostamenace689 · 31/08/2026 11:03

IcedPurple · 31/08/2026 10:46

She never made speeches 'on behalf of the UN'.

What?

I think you will find that MM delivered her most well known UN speech for UN Women in New York City on International Women’s Day in March 2015 and it wasn’t the only one.

Lunde · 31/08/2026 00:31

Interesting snippet on the Neal Sean podcast that popped up on my Youtube - he has a very good source that says that HAM's longtime nanny refused to relocate to the UK.

If it's true - it means more upheaval for Archie and Lily in this sudden move.

I'm not surprised, from the nanny's point of view. If she is a lifelong Californian, why would she want to move to another country?
But the disruption for the kids is awful - does Harry not understand the importance of having some continuity in their care/education?

upinaballoon · 31/08/2026 11:06

I am not an admirer of Meghan but I can see why she was far more confident in her engagement interview than Diana or Kate were. She'd been out there in public for a long time.

DancingFerret · 31/08/2026 11:11

@CoffeeCantata I had misgivings long before the engagement interview. In stark contrast to the quiet dignity and discretion of Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas, Markle was desperate to reveal their relationship. The endless slew of contrived so-called pap shots and planted articles was exhausting.

At the time, I still believed the carefully-crafted PR fantasy that was Happy Hero Harry and couldn't imagine he would actually entertain a relationship with someone so obviously indiscreet, grasping and fame hungry.

It's hard to imagine how the collective RF must have felt when they saw those tacky engagement photos, then had to watch the engagement interview - him clowning around and clearly subservient to the female Svengali sitting beside him.

AutumnCrowOnTheMold · 31/08/2026 11:13

Aye, but she knew fuck all about royal life. She said so herself and how she’d never even googled Harry. So she knew far less than D or C.

ForAmberPoster · 31/08/2026 11:13

I agree she is very confident. Odd that I have never seen an adult woman, let alone an uber confident one try to hold hands with other adult women (not just Catherine which was so they would be side by side, rather than in rank order)

upinaballoon · 31/08/2026 11:15

People constantly say that H and M wanted privacy. Did they say that definitely? I saw the Oprah interview but I didn't see Netflix or read 'Spare'. I definitely think that Harry wanted to get away from what he called 'the toxic British press', from what he said on 'Oprah', but I don't know when he asked for privacy.

There is a difference between disliking what they definitely said or did and disliking them for things which the newspapers implied they did or said.

This is not the only walk of life in which I ask for accuracy.
