It would be some laugh if the Taliban and Al Qaeda came out and said publicly we are not interested in Harry ! didn’t one of the groups already make fun of him?

Anyway, Harry is really trying to provoke the bear and it’s as obvious as the nose on his face ! He is creating so much hassle for the country, trying to again destroy the image of the UK, and he is only back a few hours.

If people pay for you to go on holiday, that's one thing.
W&K getting free holidays because they were pretending to be "poor students" I think is quite a claim.

What a weird idea to be going on about. Never heard of this in any case, but even if such rumours exists, perhaps their allowance wasn't super generous to teach them the value of money.

Lunde · 30/08/2026 10:41

I thought the Middletons rented them?

Was it Princess Margaret's villa? That could have been a family loan

Edited

This prompted me to try and find ref to them enjoying free holidays due to being poor students and I couldn’t find anything. There are plenty of references to the Middletons visiting Mustique with their children since they were small, along with references to where William and Catherine have stayed on the island over the years. There are also references to a friend of William’s owning a villa there. I’m not to good at googling so perhaps there’s a ref to free holidays that I missed.

As this article was written by Charlotte G string I will assume her contacts are v close to Harry. He really is a disgrace. I would fully support W if her never speaks to him again. H is nothing but trouble.

I think it was Norman Baker in his book And What do You Do, which was about the whole royal set up. It was in the chapter about stuff they all get free of charge, such as private island holidays. William in particular was mentioned as never paying for his holidays.

Now you mention Baker's name I think you're right, the night sky; I can't lay my hands on the book here and haven't been able to find it online yet, but thanks for pointing me in the right direction Smile

You're quite right that I also mentioned William, @FenellaFeldman, but didn't think there was any rule to say we could only discuss one person
Besides, my point overall was that Harry isn't alone in his entitlement, even though he makes a lousier job than most of hiding it, and I stand by my view that while the image they all curate so carefully forms the major part of what we think we "know", images can be misleading. This was painfully clear after Harry flounced off, which leads me to wonder how the rest would fare if deprived if the MIGSs' skills

And I agree with PPs that yours was a superb post, @Ratherhaveacupofteaandabiscuit, especially about the meeting point of real MH issues and just plain nastiness
Pathologising everything is very popular on here, and among those who enjoy it a palace campaign about Harry's "MH issues" would likely be catnip, but like the rest of their PR it's something I'd want to treat with caution

Possibly securidee reasons, the bottle may have been 'compromised' by Al Qaeda or some such nonsense!

My thought too as to why it wasn’t kept and drunk. But why return it rather than simply destroy it?

The concern it may have been tampered with could have been paranoia or based on some actual risk that Harry was aware of. But surely, if it was a bottle of arsenic from Al Qaeda that you aren’t willing to drink you either give it to the US Gov to test or, if they aren’t interested, destroy it and the sender soon realises their plot has failed. Returning it to the neighbour is an odd choice.

And if you really thought the wealthy neighbour was linked to Al Qaeda or similar, how could you continue to live there? Your home should be where you can relax.

I think this will help put paid to any desire for a public rapprochement between the psychiatrically challenged H and W&C.

For H, the world is not enough, because his thinking is fractured.

I think burying his disgust for his mother’s antics with her boyfriends was incredibly damaging for a bear of little brain. So now he idolises her. Meghan ‘channels’ her. Absolute whackaloons. That childhood psychiatrist whom Diana engaged (with a specific brief, presumably) seems to have taken the shilling and made things worse.

Not on here. They get short shrift on these threads, anyway.

It’s a Lady C thing.

Thanks. That was my reaction. It seems too ridiculous to be true and the ‘evidence’ was some unconvincing photos. Didn’t know Lady C was the source. Madness. There is enough they have done wrong without the need to add lies on top.

Precisely, @Cismyfatarse, but lies generate clicks - especially the wilder ones - and as long as folk keep using the real gutter sites they'll continue

Yes, I mean Meghan might have used a ‘cosmetic bump girdle’ or whatever for whatever reasons, but she did look post-partum after Archie, including in the face. I’m not sure that even Daniel is that good a makeup artist to fake it.

Thedom · 30/08/2026 12:50

Why doesn’t he move to France or Italy like the Clooney’s have if Montecito was that awful he needed to move his family out of there ? private bodyguards in France and Italy can carry arms under special circumstances. Has anyone ever heard the Clooneys discuss their security arrangements, they would have far more of a real risk than Harry, the village idiot, and Meghan.

What the eff is wrong with this couple, they are totally unhinged. If armed security is that important to him, he should have stayed in the US, where everyone has the right to carry a gun, he and his wife, eventually the kids, his bodyguards, the Nannie’s, the chef, the gardener all can carry guns, But no, instead Harry brings his family back to to a place he hates and tries to blackmail a whole country.

heatdome · 30/08/2026 12:52

Angela Levin, who amongst other work wrote a pre M biography of H with his cooperation, reports that Diana involved a psychiatrist to assess H as a child because of his behaviour and especially in relation to his reaction to her new relationships.
Throughout his younger years both before and after Diana’s tragic death there are numerous incidents of highly impulsive and ill judged behaviour.

While I agree with your post, I do find this bit really sad and a fairly poor indictment of her parenting. “My son is acting out having been introduced to yet another boyfriend of mine after living through his parents’ tumultuous divorce. There must be something wrong with him and it’s not at all related to his parents’ actions.” 🙄

Wow, so their NDN left them a bottle of wine as a welcome gift and the next day it was returned to her unopened??? There had to be a reason for that…

Maybe it was the label that was attached to it saying " hi here's what good wine tastes like" 😂 yeah I know timelines etc ...

MaturingCheeseball · 30/08/2026 12:59

@Thedom Harry wants to live his best life here - the life of an idle rich hooray Henry - polo, shooting, japes with old chums, racketing around at house parties… Living in France he’d be in the same position as in Montecito - lonely. He is, however, a middle-aged man, not Bertie Wooster stealing policemen’s helmets.

Or, return the bottle, hoping that the story gets out, thereby "proving" how concerned you are about security despite choosing to move to the country by choice.

Apparently his best friend is his head of security who he hangs out with in the house a lot.

If this is true, then this guy who is paid by Harry is the one listening to his paranoia. I doubt he’s challenging it somehow.

Apparently he is constantly bugging Home Sec about the security.

I was thinking, ok - so perhaps it is inevitable that he is awarded armed state protection which he cannot legally pay for. BUT how about he is lobbied - as a sign of appreciation - to pay a sum equal to the security cost to the Exchequer? That is perfectly in order. No - not tuppence ha’penny to a few charities (from which he extracts more in expenses) but a visible thank you to the taxpayer.

Has it ever been confirmed that he's paid back the UK taxpayer for his court case?

It's a bit of a pattern for him at this stage, isn't it?

Flounce off to Canada and then California, whining about how your security was 'taken from you'. Surely this is something you work out before you leave? Not after stomping out in high dudgeon? Then a few years later, after a failed court procedure and countless whiny 'leaks', head back to England without getting your security established, and then proceed to waste the time of very busy officials who have far more important things to think about.

So not once, but twice, Harry has chosen to put his family into what he claims is harm's way. Surely this is highly irresponsible behaviour? He and his wife are responsible for his children's safety. Not Charles, not the taxpayer, not the Home Secretary. Him.

Well, he has been allocated a telephone number for a police liaison officer.

Police liaison officers are trained in using verbal and non verbal cues to make people feel heard and are good at defusing tension. Maybe that is exactly what Harry needs, an independent, empathetic and active listener to reassure him.
