We are all trying to make sense of the senseless which is the natural response of rational people witnessing the bizarre but in this case it is a hopeless cause.

H&M have no grand strategy.

The plan, if you can dignify their latest whims with that title, changes from day to day. Sometimes even hour to hour.

They have had many expert paid advisors over the years but dispense with their services if there is any advice which is not to their liking.

So we have an intellectually and psychiatrically challenged H and a grandiose and delusional M in charge and driving the chaotic spectacle otherwise known as the Sussexes.

Angela Levin, who amongst other work wrote a pre M biography of H with his cooperation, reports that Diana involved a psychiatrist to assess H as a child because of his behaviour and especially in relation to his reaction to her new relationships.

Throughout his younger years both before and after Diana’s tragic death there are numerous incidents of highly impulsive and ill judged behaviour.

There is also much evidence, confirmed through his own words, that H was a longterm habitual drug user.

There is further evidence that he could not pass any but the most basic exams without a lot of special support both in education and in the military.

As for M, there are extensive examples of her inability to maintain relationships and of her transactional and ruthless nature with self promotion as her defining characteristic. I believe this could be indicative of a personality disorder.

However, exactly where extreme selfishness and lack of empathy and self awareness meets psychiatric disorder is debatable and I very much dislike the modern drive to pathologise all bad behaviour. It could be that they just plain stupid and nasty.

Either way, I think it is futile to try to understand the chaotic actions of this pair in a logical fashion because there is no logic. There is no rationality. There is no reason.

I feel sad for their children and although they employ nannies no member of staff can make up for the damage such narcissistic people can do as parents and undoubtedly, like the PR and communications advisors, nannies will be sacked if they dare to question their employers at all.

Hopefully school will provide some comfort and stability but head teachers could be pressured and ultimately schools changed if H&M take against them.

I wonder if H&M will find themselves on the receiving end of being cut off by their children in the future? It would not surprise me at all.

If you teach your children that family has no value, you can hardly complain when they follow your advice.

Totally agree

Quite easily if anyone was stupid enough - or wanted the connection enough - to believe it. I'm pretty sure it was Tom Bower who be wrote about and named the various villas, but will try to find and link

Also agree, @Thedom, that while Harry wouldn't actually want "something to happen", the impression that it might will suit him just fine
Perhaps he'll stage something to "prove" his point? After all it wouldn't be the first time, if the "near catastrophic car chase" is any guide

Right. I think it's highly unlikely.
It's funny how on any thread criticising Harry, someone comes on with "What about William? He was nearly almost just as bad 25 years ago, according to rumours" 🙄

TheTwerkingDuchessOfMonteshitshow · 30/08/2026 10:20

This has made me a cross I found myself saying ‘oh do f**k off’ when I was reading the article.

MaturingCheeseball · 30/08/2026 10:27

Apparently he is constantly bugging Home Sec about the security.

I was thinking, ok - so perhaps it is inevitable that he is awarded armed state protection which he cannot legally pay for. BUT how about he is lobbied - as a sign of appreciation - to pay a sum equal to the security cost to the Exchequer? That is perfectly in order. No - not tuppence ha’penny to a few charities (from which he extracts more in expenses) but a visible thank you to the taxpayer.

I'm intrigued that he thinks he can bother Shabana Mahmood about his personal issues. Of course she should drop what she's doing and attend to him.
What an entitled fool.

Excellent assessment of the pair of them - as you say to apply rationale to the irrational and reasonableness to the unreasonsable - all wrapped up in the slippery, shapeshifting lies and miss-truths is just futile and and frustrating.

It’s almost like a wild goose chase and they love it. Best to leave them to the consequences of their behaviour which, as with the US will be a silent closing of doors and social exclusion. That will take time to sink in - and that’s when it will sting. MM isnt going to put herself through further ‘humiliation and sidelining’ as she’s basically not staying but the penny will drop for PH down the line that he’s persona non grata and his wife is effectively dumping her STBXH out of her hair in the UK.

So Harry expected the country where he wasn't to tell him about a security threat rather than the country where he was? Does he not even understand how Five Eyes works?

He expects to tell everyone how threatened he is, then for us to have sympathy with his paranoia, rather than frustration that he is can't see he is putting his own security at risk. In a cost of living crisis, in a country with real political and social problems he thinks he can jump the queue and badger the Home Secretary into telling an independent committee what to do. He expects his family to apologise, for some reason I've never understood.

Maybe don't tell everyone where you live. Maybe don't tell everyone you'll be doing a regular school run. Maybe accept that minor royals, yes even those whose parent is the monarch, don't get armed security unless there is a threat. Maybe accept that minor royals are simply members of the public where security is concerned. Maybe accept that the public are watching your behaviour and are increasingly seeing the bitter adult rather than the popular child.

I don't care whose son he is, on either side, I do care that he seems unable to behave like a rational, productive member of society. Same grudges, same demands, same entitlement, same paranoia, someone get him some effective mental health support.

Looking at it from another perspective, H somehow came into possession of the knowledge that there was a threat to him from Al Queda in 2023. He has now put that out there.

So Al Quada (and was it Al Quaeda or the Taliban, BTW?) now know that UK intelligence acquired knowledge of what they were up to at that point in time, which is a cue for them to investigate and shut down wherever the intelligence leak came from.

Unless, of course, H is making it all up.

That's certainly the image, The Dom, but wasn't it W&K who, when at Uni, played the "poor students" card to get freebie villas on Mystique?

Then there's Charles's borrowing of yachts ( one of them from Latsis I believe) and doubtless much more

Of course each donor of such favours may also have been squeaky clean, but frankly that would be a surprise

I thought the Middletons rented them?

Was it Princess Margaret's villa? That could have been a family loan

Excellent points - and I’m sorry you’ve been through that trauma too. Hope you were looked after ok afterwards. It’s a bit of a lottery with police/colleagues.

I’m fine. He was an in-law and I was living in their country so the down-playing that went on meant I was able to just box it up and hide it deep inside a part of my brain labelled “Weird Surreal Shit That Happens Due To Life Run On Whim Rather Than Careful Consideration”.

It seriously sharpened my capacity to appreciate the trade-offs required for a calm, “non-scary surprise” ridden lifestyle. Which I’m grateful for. Risking myself is one thing. My boy, entirely another kettle of fish.

Interesting name at the bottom of that page @AutumnCrowOnTheMold (I would have ignored it were it not for the address line as well).

Yep, Epstein had the number for Uncle Charles Spencer. How lovely.

It’s his London home tel. The exchange code 229 is apparently for Bayswater, Notting Hill, and parts of Westbourne Ave. (Not Spencer House which is rented out.)

@Ratherhaveacupofteaandabiscuit yes absolutely agree it’s their kids I feel sorry for.

I can imagine them changing schools every couple of years when H&M fall out with the head teachers.

They will expect all sorts of compromises and special treatment, not realising that their kids aren’t the most important ones at the school.

That's absolutely what will happen. I can imagine that the area will need to be cleared of other parents when they pick up their kids etc. What a nightmare.

Oneatatimegently · 30/08/2026 11:08

I wonder if there are any parents on this site from the school!

Do we know where the children went to school in Montecito? Archie should have started two years ago surely?

I think that’s why M’s pushing the farce of the ‘acting jobs’ - it’s the only way she’s going to keep up her name recognition in the US once she has uncoupled from H.

They must be pissed off the Beckhams made two front pages today (with photos) which were happy family PR puff. HaM only made in on to one - and that was the Mail mostly pointing to stories about how delusional and inconsequential they are.

I think it was Norman Baker in his book And What do You Do, which was about the whole royal set up. It was in the chapter about stuff they all get free of charge, such as private island holidays. William in particular was mentioned as never paying for his holidays.

A lot of his comments about his security and threats over the years have demonstrated that he either has loose lips or he talks complete BS on the topic.

Whatever the reason I'm sure it's now being done order to get attention.

It's tedious and it's painful.

If people pay for you to go on holiday, that's one thing.
W&K getting free holidays because they were pretending to be "poor students" I think is quite a claim.

Wow, so their NDN left them a bottle of wine as a welcome gift and the next day it was returned to her unopened??? There had to be a reason for that…

Jealous that it wasn’t As Ever brand?

It’s just occurred to me and I may be talking bollocks but maybe there is a trade off in the free loan stuff. Ie I’ll invite you to stay in my villa and you will invite me to a shooting party at Sandringham. Just a normal shooting party, it wasn’t a birthday party Emily FFS.

myrtleWilson · 30/08/2026 11:49

Is there an archive version of the Mail story upthread about 'demanding an apology' please? I'm going to hazard a guess at who H is still spitting mad about!
@shockthemonkey I thought that was so rude of them! I get why they may not drink the wine as they don't know it hadn't been tampered with but return to sender?! I would have expected them to send a note thanking her for her generous and open hearted welcome and they were looking forward to getting to know the community...

Re Al Quaeda - I imagine the 5 Eyes convo went along lines of

US - UK: chatter on telegram about possible threat to CHIMPO
UK - US: chatter or cause for concern
US- UK: we're looking into it
Can - US & UK: can confirm it derives from known but not active supporters of AQ
US - Can: OK, threat likelihood is low but lets follow protocol and alert possible target.
Can - US: Rodger that US. Assume as he lives in your neck of the woods, you'll be leading on this
US-Can; Hell no, you confirmed it, you tell him
Can - US: Jurisdiction takes precedence, sorry fellas
US - UK: He is your Prince, you should do it
UK- US: Erm, Rock Paper Scissors, loser tells?
