Have Harry and Meghan announced their children’s school choice yet?

Has HAMs school choice been announced yet? Moneys not on Lambrook!
Would parents of said school need to be informed? Or because they are no longer working royals would they not need to announce?
Will they go state or private? Can they afford the top private schools now? I gather the state won't pay for their kids education?

I'm donning a tinfoil hat yet again to say I don't think the dc were registered/have attended anywhere in the UK.

I don't think there's a new school as yet either.

It's beyond belief to think any school completes the admission process in a matter of hours.

I’m with you, Cathy.

I don’t believe a word they leak any more.

Shitty of them to dump this issue on their security team, too.

Ah ... I have literally had a day's notice. The admissions process is ongoing wjen they enter: Contact school, paper work transfer etc.

Yes the Daily Mail print stories about them. The same DM which has said they were pretty sure they knew which school A&L were at but would not reveal it (and they did not. ) The same DM which has said they will not publish where H&M are staying and they haven't. The same DM which H ( not alone , with others ) took to court for illegal fact gathering for stories and the claimants had every claim dismissed whilst the judge saying the DM reporters were credible.

Now , don't get me wrong - the DM are not above silly stories for headlines and clicks - do we ever want to see a photo of VB in her bikini on a yacht ever again after this summer. But let's differentiate between a mass market newspaper who will write stories for popularity and yet will adhere to the IPSO code. The DM would not publish their every move where they have signed up not to. I'm not defending everything the DM publishes , absolutely not , some of it is clearly click fodder ( or whatever the term is ) , and some of it needs to be read with an eye to the paper's bias , but a read of the judgment on PH & other claimants v ANL might indicate the DM is not the National Inquirer or the late not lamented NOTW. This will be unpopular with some but just perhaps if H&M didn't publicise so much about themselves , MSM might not be able to replicate their instagrams and "spokespeople's " comments and public utterances.

People would see them and snap them and then sell the photos to the DM. It’s highly unlikely they would be able to just disappear unless they lived a very secluded life.

Harry contacted the daily mail and leaked an important meeting to them.

Now before you say it was just once, and that doesn’t mean he does it all the time, let me ask, how many times would you need to catch your spouse shagging your neighbor before thinking they shags the neighbor?

Anyway, this was named sources from Montecito spilling beans. Not a DailyMail article, Both old people, happy to have their photos taken and use their real names. Not “sources close to” but actual people.

My point is that we would still know they were here because people would take photos and sell them to the DM who would find an angle.

LongTallFanny · 15/09/2026 21:58

I also think there is more to this than meets the eye.

I don’t believe the stories of schools and convoys and attendance and then pulling them from school.

It needs to be filed with the other varying recollections.

Well if it is the school everyone thinks it is: I beleive it. It was a fairly crazy choice.

It’s weird you think you know the emotions of others, but you seem to be convinced.

Also strange you think you know everything there is to know about these two.

I think I know very little about them. I think you know very little about them too.

It’s more likely they’ll have issues with foreign press than Uk press, even the daily mail with phone photos.

On holiday I saw photos of Louis and his Nanny at the natural history museum in a magazine. Obviously taken with a mobile phone. No British publication would publish photos like that.

Oh yeah they are awful. I saw Beatrice and her daughter on the cover of s German magazine.

I heard they will have a delayed start, let the new year / first day madness die down. This allows security to monitor traffic and drop off systems and ultimately wait for parents to stop hanging around in the car park chatting and snapping first day pics! They will slip in quietly once term is under way

Edited

How’s that all working out for them?

my comments were in answer to this question:

Would we even know these people left California without them telling us their every move?

I think - yes - we would because they would be spotted, photographed and even if you are right and newspapers didn’t buy the photos, news would spread.

People might take a photo and try to sell them to the DM , but if it contravened the IPSO code, or revealed where they lived or the children's schools , or indeed photos revealing the children the DM would either not buy them or not publish them. As others have said - H&M are far more likely to have a foreign newspaper or magazine publish those photos.

Fair play - yes there is a grapevine. Sorry. I do agree outside the MSM , news might very well leak , possibly not as quickly if they didn't announce/ leak it but yes you are right eventually the news might spread. Apologies for misunderstanding.

It’s like a lot of posters here are oblivious to the post-Leveson press landscape.

… and to the fact that Harry leaks directly to journalists by partying with them and having them on his Sussex PR WhatsApp group, and has done for decades, including leaking and planting stories with the media outlets that he’s sued.

The Mail/ANL spent approx £38m seeing off every single one of Harry & Co’s allegations - allegations that they had no evidence for, just ‘feelings’ about.

Now the UK is being pressured into providing armed security to Harry on the basis of ‘feelings’. Fortunately, RAVEC analyses risk not ‘feelings’; and quite right too. I don’t know if RAVEC looks at the area of ‘contributory negligence’? I wonder if perhaps they have already offered advice that is being ignored. It’s all coming across as a mess of Harry’s own making. As ever.

Maybe, but the way that we know is that they told us.

So A and L must have been up to half an hour late for school too if the hour commute each way is correct. I know the area. What is so special about a town based school there for them? It’s surrounded by main roads and river. I imagine they’d be better off in a rural large school and taking them earlier than school run like breakfast club and picking up at a random time to start with when others aren’t there.

TheAutumnCrow · Yesterday 11:05

So not a single person in the entire Sussex entourage knows of the concept of school drop-off traffic?

Not a single person in their multi-million pound Security and PR teams, not a single housekeeper or personal assistant, not a single friend or acquaintance, had any thought to tell them regarding the locale’s rush hour?

The sheer bollocks of it is comedy gold.

Come on give the staff come credit.

You can't blame them for the bosses being clueless and thinking they know best.

I am not a fan of them or the royal family. I’m indifferent. But I do feel I need to say that as a doctorate level educated woman, I always forget to leave the extra time on my first commune of the new academic year. Without fail. I’m not stupid. I just don’t remember to factor it in. And I’m not new to the area. It’s not a new route. I’ve been doing it for years! May be the embarrassment of reading your post and recognising my own mistake will mean I remember next year!

It’s hard to blame any of them. Harry surely never had to think about traffic and travel routes as a working Royal. Meghan hardly lived in UK and is likely clueless about how driving a few miles can take an hour or more.

Their security detail is American, I think, too.
(Having an American security team seems like a major mistake to me, though.)

But Harry and Meghan had no good reason to make any announcement about the security or the school at all. They’ve made themselves and their team appear inept.
