Are the bets on or off for an invite to Balmoral?
Will Meghan bake a humble pie for Catherine?
Let’s discuss……!

Yes - always embarrassing to put out an extravagant statement and then find you have to withdraw it.

She sells jam and posts photos of herself on Instagram. He does the odd charity appearance and podcast/TV interview and complains and litigates. Yes, the world is lining up to spend millions of dollars a year to enable them to do this in return for - precisely nothing.

Bloody idiots 😂

I always read these threads and enjoy them but rarely post.

I think they were actually genuinely roasting a chicken as Meghan started talking about the recipe. It's something she does, suddenly adds unnecessary detail into a sentence (this is how I could tell they were behind the Omid Scobie book as it does the same). I remember thinking, never mind how you dry roasted your chicken, I want to hear about the proposal.

But wasn't she telling people that she was vegan at that time 🙄

Didn't she scream at a palace chef claiming she could taste egg in a dessert although he denied that there was any egg 🙄(Not that I think you could trust Meghan's palate having seen what she cooks)

For me it was when Meghan wore a blatant maternity outfit to Eugenie’s wedding, with the coat undone like you would if you had a large bump. It was obviously to get attention from the press and to ensure she was the one people were talking about. Apparently they announced the pregnancy at the wedding too. She was only about 12 weeks, easy to conceal a pregnancy at that point and allow the bride and groom their day without making it all about you.

Yes that was so deliberate and down right nasty.

CariadDarling · 15/08/2026 15:40

Baital · 15/08/2026 14:40

In fact, I have several family members that would appear a bit odd in a televised royal wedding. But they are my family and I love them and enjoy their oddity. If I was worried about it being ridiculed I would- in the hypothetical situation - prefer a private wedding with my idiosyncratic family members than a bland public wedding with 'acceptable' strangers

Speaking as someone who also has a very diverse family with a cast of many different characters I can only agree with you.

Honestly, you can’t make it up, the entitlement of these stupid ridiculous clowns is astounding! They literally Do sod all, yet expectations are hilarious!! The world laughs as them … I feel bad for their kids

AutumnCrowsMusings · 15/08/2026 15:56

It seems that Harry has some more ‘legacy’ (royal adjacency in his skull) for the DC and Meghan some more publicity for the DC, via his pal’s elephant charity in Botswana. It’s only a few grand but H has diverted it from Sentebale to the pal’s elephant tagging project.

Classic Sussex PR WhatsApp stuff. Note the use of ‘was sued’ instead of ‘is being sued’ by Sentebale from Victoria Ward.

Could someone please archive this? I’m on my phone and it’s a pain (literally).

Back then (2020), they were potentially powerful, though they didn't realise their limits (collaborate with the Queen, anyone?).

There had been a lot of goodwill towards Harry, with many people being pleased he had found someone to settle down with as William had.

Lots of people were prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt, and of course it was the height of the BLM crusade.

Then came Oprah, and Spare, and the steady decline.

SisterTeatime · 15/08/2026 15:59

I felt something was off in the engagement interview - l heard it on the radio and the bit about roasting chicken struck me as condescending and frankly a stupid thing to say - I also thought the statement asking the press to leave Meghan alone was odd as id never heard of her. Then I thought let’s give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but her incredibly virginal white veil rang alarm bells for me as I felt the Queen probably wouldn’t have liked it and (my personal opinion) thought it was in slightly bad taste. From there it was the South Africa interview that confirmed things.

The Fab Four interview I thought was ill-mannered and pushy but no more. Looking back I can see that Catherine must have felt horribly uncomfortable.

Oh yes, “collaborate with” the Queen. Sharp intake of breath when I read that. Same as when they announced “Lilbet” for their second born.

I'll try to archive the Telegraph article later on my laptop. Maybe archive/ph will have worked its way round the paywall by tonight.

I suspect the late Queen was at one stage looking at the embroidery on the edge of MM’s veil and thinking Wth - you’ve copied that idea from my wedding dress you absolute and utter horror.

For me the look the Queen was giving her/the dress at one stage was one of the standout moments of the wedding.

I have seen quite a few interviews when she was Suits and that’s exactly how she behaves - it’s so inauthentic, cringe and jarring - there’s one where she’s hardly wearing any clothes and her body is twisting, collapsing and gyrating in the chair - just bizarre

Are you tinking of the one with Craig Ferguson, @Claregalway, featuring her squirming around in what was called the "gynaecology dress"? Embarrassing in the extreme ...

It’s like the most god awful flirting I have ever seen. I had to stop with three minutes to go.
I notice she didn’t mention the reason why her hair is curly.
Not exactly shouting her African heritage from the rooftops then was she!

It’s hardly mega bucks. Just over £5k

Strangely enough she was super slim again a few days later in Australia !
I think she was only 6/8 weeks pregnant.

Yes, it's peanuts - it's the stuff further down after this 'shoehorning' that's interesting.

Edited to make sense. Prob still doesn't. It's too humid.

Justdancevance · 15/08/2026 16:52

I went to a family wedding while 3 months pregnant, it’s quite easy to disguise ffs. But we’ve all seen how she can’t handle not being the centre of attention

I wasn't in the UK for the early years, but the drama over her father raised an eyebrow when I realised that H and her father had never met. I didnt have the most straitforward relationship with my father, but I couldn't imagine planning to get married without my fiance and father meeting. Just so my (putative) fiancé was forwarned that some of my family are a bit odd... but still my family

And they still haven’t met.

reading between the lines ….it’s giving “children in need” donation questions…

It's an prominently article that calls for plenty of Wineand speculation.

I don't think Victoria Ward found this info out on her own. Yes, the charity accounts are publicly available once they've been submitted and appear on the website of the Charity Commission, but the rest reads like a piece of spin handed to her.

i. What's with the reference to 'Harry was sued' by Sentebale? This is a current court case. Present tense, please, Victoria.
ii. What's with all the crap about Harry passing stuff on to A using his pal's charity in Botswana? More 'birthright' spin?
iii. What convenient publicity about A&L. Oh well, at least one parent will be pleased.
iv. Harry 'whisked Meghan off to Botswana'. I hope this is Victoria taking the piss, even if she's doing it by leaving in some words verbatim from the spin-sheet she received. No-one talks like that, except Sussex PR and Glenda Slagg.

wordler · 15/08/2026 17:36

I downplayed all the red flags for ages because I was onboard for the Fab Four. I thought it was going to be fun for Kate to have another outsider there to exchange eye rolls with during some of the weirder family traditions etc.

So I put the weird angagement poses, and over the top interview down to nerves and being used to trying to get column inches as an unknown actress.

Even things like the coat flicking to get the best shots of the baby bump which seemed odd.

I assumed all the early tabloid stories about Duchess Difficult and the Kate crying story was just the usual tabloid trick of trying to create some drama.

It was the Ulvade trip that finally convinced me that she’s some sort of sociopath/narcissist. It was absolutely disgusting to fly thousands of miles to use dead children for a photo shoot. She was posing at the tribute area before the actual parents had even been there. And she had no connection to the town.

The Royal Foundation accounts were out a week or so ago - hence the stories of the Wales' charity making more money in America than Archewell.

I suspect that someone noticed the donation in the RF accounts and asked the Sussexes for a comment, so ended up with the elephant story.

Agree re the accuracy of the Sentebale comment.

For me the interesting thing was that American Friends of the RF is also registered in Delaware. It hasn't yet been rated by CharityWatch.
I haven't looked at this year's accounts yet. They've been clear in previous years with the vast majority of the money raised donated to charity.
