Maybe some lovestruck couple will come along and see the intertwined palm trees and gasp, "Look, my love, it's you and me 4Ever2gether!" 😉

They certainly seem to have settled on "My love" as their endearment.
Maybe H was a big Bruce Forsyth fan in his youth.
I can imagine him screwing up his face a la Brucie - "Awright, my love?"

AtIusvue · 28/07/2026 10:08

‘A shocking one star review came from The Telegraph, who referenced Meghan's Netflix show With Love, Meghan.

She writes: 'Holly Willoughby’s dire YouTube show makes Meghan look good... Not even Stanley Tucci can redeem this 50-minute borefest of awkward small talk, forced swearing and pie tin ….’

When you make Meghan look good!!!!

It was on the market for a long time before they bought it

Yes it was on the market for years listed initially at $25m - then various price drops purchased for just over $14m

I wonder what the implications of the retirement of Sir Clive Alderton will be. If Tom Sykes is to be believed (?), Alderton was detested by Harry and has been instrumental in keeping him (Harry) out. If it's true that Charles wants Harry back in, then Alderton leaving might clear a major obstacle in the Charles/Sussexes way.

Tom Sykes predicted there would be senior resignations because of the debacle of Harry’s visit, as senior aides were extremely unhappy. Is this the first one we are seeing?

I think Charles may be underestimating how much damage Harry has done to the UK, and the majority of the British public are not behind him at all. Charles has been enjoying a lot of popularity since he became King, but I think any public welcome is going to impact that popularity enormously.

The buried foetus would put me off. ( But if I were a journalist hunting for DNA...)

There's zero evidence KC3 wants Harry back in. I'd say the opposite. Being dragged kicking and screaming to meet them for tea, for example.

Why do people act as though KC3 is an idiot?

And no invite to Balmoral.

BasiliskStare · 28/07/2026 10:19

I also think these reports of SCA's retirement meaning the door will be open to H as part of the WRF completely overestimate the influence one aide has. I think if ever there were a time W could throw his weight around , if he doesn't want H back in any WRF role , he could just refuse to be anywhere H is. Sounds childish , but I for one would support him. I think the OW , Netflix and Spare shennigans , coupled with H having twice accused the judiciary publicly of "an establishment stitch up" & "a whitewash" means he is entirely unsuited to any public role within the RF. Private rapprochement with his father , I'm all in favour of.

Apropos of not very much, I saw an article about the forthcoming retirement in May of Harry’s ‘Wasp’ Sir Clive Alderton who is Charles’s Principal Private Secretary.

H also had nicknames for Sir Edward Young (Bee) and Simon Case (Fly).

It reminded me that there was also a nickname for Mark Bolland, the PR man supposedly assigned to ‘rehabilitate’ Camilla and Charles, and that his nickname was ‘Lipgloss’.

That is interesting autumn! 🤔

If Charles genuinely wanted Harry back in, I'd have expected to see their meeting held at Buckingham Palace, Clarence House or another official royal residence, rather than Highgrove the 'private' family home. As far as I can see, Charles is doing the minimum to maintain personal relations but nothing at all to rebuild their official royal status.

I agree. An hour with a meeting with Harry alone first . He's managing it very very carefully.

That’s not true - many property industry reports suggest that it’s at least doubled in value from $14m to $29m.

It’s only worth what people will pay for it and no one previously paid the 28 million it had been valued at then.

Agree 100% - that’s why it stuck on the market back then - owner had it up at some silly price. Since then property values in Monteshitshow have rocketed and numerous, credible, property industry spokespeople have been quoted consistently giving this current valuation.

I agree with this. Every single detail was on KC3 terms and H&M had to concede. H&M are being ‘managed’ - they want KC3 more so have to dance to his tune.

IMHO they will be kept to a very tight ‘family’ agenda which probably won’t extend beyond annual tea and scones catch up because they are too much risk. I think there was also something significant for KC3 own public PR to burst a bubble that he hasn’t seen his grandchildren. So for KC3 it’s win, win, win.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 28/07/2026 11:17

If that’s the case at he can’t plead poverty to KC when the court costs bill lands on their doormat, if they have massive equity in the plastic palace they can sell up or do an equity release to go towards their debt to ANL.

Do you know why land values in Montecito have allegedly rocketed, out of interest?

I’d have thought the risk of wild fires followed by flash flooding had increased so much, along with rises in insurance costs and potential increases in property taxes, that prices might be quite unstable. And El Niño is definitely here.

Edited to make it vaguely make sense Grin

I think the issue is more likely to be the meeting, wherever it was held and no matter for how long, was a really bad image for the RF after Harry’s statement attacking the British courts and the personal slurs he made against the judge, coupled with the manipulation of him announcing he had accepted an offer to stay at Buckingham Palace, when he absolutely knew he was not staying there, so manipulative in an effort to make Charles look bad.

He is incredibly toxic.

Yes he did probably why Holywood shut there doors to them he is a scientologist isn't he?

That was disgusting. H is so hateful. I just wish JT had clapped back at him.

Picking on Travolta was a spiteful act, the sort that H specialises in.

I hope the rumours are true and Tom Cruise is giving Travolta’s career a bit of a ‘comeback’ boost in the next year or two.

Ironically, H would probably make a good Scientologist and enjoy a nice bit of ‘exteriorization’.

Aprilfountain · 28/07/2026 12:03

Does anyone else remember the horrible way Harold described the courtiers in his tawdry book? Comparing decent, hardworking, loyal staff members to 'insects'? Absolutely disgusting and imo revealed what a pathetic, immature, man child Hazbeen truly is?

My2cents1975 · 28/07/2026 12:07

I will respectfully disagree with several posters.

KC3 is King. Any closed meeting with a counterparty with a track record of going to the media and proclaiming falsehoods is a non-starter for a Head of State.

IMHO it is not possible to divide KC3 the King from KC3 the father / grandfather / brother / Uncle etc. Anyone coming out of a closed meeting can claim that KC3 said XYZ in the capacity of King...how do you counteract that? If KC3 wishes to drag BP into a he said / HaM said...well it is his reign and his choice.

IMHO, H's lack of discretion will come back to bite KC3 now and after he has passed on. I will have zero sympathy for KC3 the enabler.

An hour with a meeting with Harry alone first

Has anyone yet worked out where the story of Harry having time alone with the King first came from?
As far as I can see, the only information that has come from the palace has been the initial announcement confirming that the King and Queen hosted the Sussexes.
There has been no leaking from palace sources of information (confirmed by Rebecca English on Palace Confidential, who has said she obviously has asked for any information, and isn't being told anything at all).
There have been gradual small amounts of information clearly drip-fed from the Sussex side (e.g about it being an emotional meeting, about the children being very excited, overwhelmed, about the Queen getting into her car to drive from Ray Mill etc).

Has anyone seen this in print other than in internet rumours? And what was the source?

BasiliskStare · 28/07/2026 12:12

Like @Kirys I've read the faux chateau has increased in price dramatically . It does appear to have been a good investment (given the caveat it's only worth what someone will pay for it.) They did get it cheaply apparently because the previous owner had to dramatically reduce the price because he was going through a divorce , so in that sense it was a good buy ( no matter what the starting price). If they did want to sell it they might not get the headline number but I suspect they'd still make a tidy sum on it. I personally suspect ( & I don't know ) it might be one of the last things to go if H&M ever need money that much. It feels like it was a symbol to M of having "made it" . But I don't know them so that is pure speculation from me. If the plot and the location is good I am sure someone would buy it even if to rebuild ( it that's allowed. ) But speculation. I have also read prices have risen there because of scarcity of land / houses , so supply and demand. Land for new building isn't readily available.

Cars4Gov · 28/07/2026 12:20

means he is entirely unsuited to any public role within the RF

This is the issue..Solo, Harry is a PR disaster, he needs a RF "handler" but I suspect this is what he moved away from and he is not bright enough to know that he can't manage his image without someone managing him.

Of course if it’s true they took multiple mortgages out against the house ! , it makes no difference how much it’s skyrocketed in value does it! 🤷‍♀️

I couldn't agree more, My2cents1975

Obviously I get the principle about the role/family being separate, but when image is all to the institution I'd have thought this meeting to be a risk which in the long run wasn't worth taking

Unfortunately Charles the enabler - and he's enabled far worse than Harry - will very likely continue the pattern of doing exactly as he wants, and any adverse fallout will be someone else's fault and something else to whine about
