Prince Harry and Meghan’s huge Aussie plans revealed. Visit to Sydney and Melbourne in Mid-April.

EXCLUSIVE

More than seven years after then-newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan embarked on their hugely successful Aussie tour, the couple is reportedly heading back Down Under.

A source confirmed exclusively to news.com.au that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to visit Sydney and Melbourne in mid-April.

While their last trip to our shores was in an official capacity as working members of the royal family, this time around they’re travelling as private citizens – and it’s understood they’ll be focusing on activities related to their businesses and philanthropic work.

Details of their specific plans remain unclear, but it’s been rumoured that Meghan will appear as a guest on the Her Best Life podcast, which was initially launched and co-hosted by Jackie “O” Henderson and Gemma O’Neill through their “Besties” company. Earlier this year, just a couple of weeks before her high-profile and abrupt recent exit from her KIIS breakfast show, Henderson revealed that she had decided to “step away” from the venture.

It’s rumoured that Meghan will also appear as a special guest at an upcoming “Besties” event, following in the footsteps of previous VIP speaker Gwyneth Paltrow.

The actress took part in a wide-ranging Q&A with Henderson back in 2023 which attracted around 3,000 ticketholders to the ICC in Sydney’s Darling Harbour – so Meghan’s appearance could be in a similar capacity.
Despite Henderson’s recent departure from the Besties company, she hinted last month that she may return in some capacity in the future - and perhaps Meghan’s involvement could be one such occasion.

Gwyneth Paltrow was the special guest at a Besties event, run by Henderson (left) and Gemma O'Neill, back in 2023 – and Meghan is now rumoured to follow in her footsteps. Picture: Supplied
While details of the couple’s itinerary are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, it’s likely that Harry’s plans will involve Australia’s armed forces or veterans’ community, given his strong connections to both.

It’s understood he also has a number of friends locally, fostered across multiple previous visits, including during his month-long stay with the ADF at an army barracks in Darwin back in 2015.
And in his 2023 memoir, Harry gushed over his time living in Australia as a 19-year-old in 2003.
He wrote in Spare that working as a jackaroo on a farm in rural Queensland had helped him find inner peace during what were “some of the best” weeks of his life.

It’s not yet known whether the Sussexes’ children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, will join them on the trip next month or stay back at the family’s home in Montecito, California.

News.com.au understands that the royal couple’s Aussie visit has been in the works for almost a year.

If they'd wanted to, they cold have bundled her in with some Yorks.

I think Sophie was a deliberate choice, as someone with the Headmistress vibe who would spot, and head off, any trouble.

They could but then Harry would have complained, the Yorks aren't exactly tactful and yes I agree Sophie was a safe pair of hands.

I thought at the time it was weird that even Harry got to Balmoral when the queen died. Why him but not the other grandchildren?

I can see why William because of the line of succession being represented but on a personal basis why would Harry be there but not Zara or Eugenie?

Also of course Catherine wasn't going to go. She has children and her husband doesn't need her to hold his hand.

In most families one adult goes to their loved ones bedside while the other keeps things running for the kids. Perfectly normal.

Different for Sophie as her kids are older and she was personally very close.

Why does Harry think he's more special than the other grandkids? Just the accident of his birth...does he not see the irony in then whining about being the Spare?

No of course he doesn't.

I agree, and instead of recognising he was getting an extra privilege that no other grandchild (other than the heir) was afforded, all Harry does is kick off about his wife (who has slandered the RF on the world stage) not being invited.

I know it’s old news but it really is astounding how ignorant and obnoxious his behaviour has been on so so many occasions - and those are just the ones we know about publicly, often from his own words! I dread to think what sort of behaviour has been covered up because even Harry isn’t proud of it.

The men in grey suits must excel in their roles. They are both loose cannons. However, they are perfect for each other. It's like watching a car crash in slow motion. How will this all end?

StrawberryWasp · 02/04/2026 13:42

But why would Charles require the emotional support of his children more than Anne, Edward or Andrew would?
They'd all lost their mother.

The personal loss was the same.

William and Harry rank higher than the other grandchild because their father is king.

The point is Harry is fine ranking more highly than his cousins and taking the advantages of that. But he can't tolerate his brother outranking him.

Also I'm pretty certain Charles was asking Harry to come as he'd be emotionally supportive!

I tend to agree . Someone is writing on X that she applied for a ticket as a joke. She was put on a list and since has been bombarded with emails asking if she still wants to go or her ticket will have to be offered to another lovely lady ! Oh and would she like to take a friend ?

I wonder if that was C G-String? Maybe she could bring Jessica Mulroney as a friend - and also have a whip round for Thomas Markle and MM new step Mom to come along for a little R&R?

I think H’s behaviour on the day of QEII’s death was possibly the worst thing he’s done to his family. His tantrum caused two people— Edward and Andrew- the chance to be with their dm at the end. He also deprived QEII of having all her dcs at her side.

Unlike Anne, Edward and Andrew, Charles became King as soon as his mother died. He was not able to stay at Balmoral for a few days and grieve like they did - he immediately had to start an intensive series of Royal duties.

In terms of being the only other Grandchild there in addition to William - unlike any of the other Grandchildren, Harry and William alongside Andrew and Charles (immediately prior of the Queens death) were Counsellors of State and responsible for carrying out the Queens duties whilst she was incapacitated.

wordler · 02/04/2026 15:10

I imagine the long term plan had always been for Charles to have a quiet private moment with both his sons ahead of the big change, and that intense week of new monarch activity.

Unfortunately, Harry’s behaviour on the phone showed them that Harry was going to be no help or support so Charles and William ended up having dinner alone together and left Harry to Anne.

Mylovelygreendress · 02/04/2026 16:07

I still don’t fully understand why Harry wanted Meghan there ? She had shown absolutely no interest in visiting Balmoral !

She wanted to be there for the bragging rights and the content opportunities to line her pockets. The world was watching she wanted to be in the spotlight in the inner circle.

Do you really think that someone as narcissistic as Meghan was prepared to not be part of the biggest story of the year? Come on!

Of course she wanted to be there, to be photographed looking oh so photogenic with her one tear sliding down her face, dressed in black and looking devastated. This is a woman who briefed Omid Scobie that she was on her way to the Queen's deathbed before she had even been given permission to go and who did so much to devastate the Queen in her final months, while Philip was dying, when she was mourning his death and when she was living out her final days suffering from cancer. After all that, they STILL thought that they would both be welcome at her deathbed.

That is how thoughtless, deluded and cruel they are.

Well she still managed to position herself right behind KC as they awaited QE’s coffin arriving at BP

This is the same Duchess who released an exclusive to Vanity Fair on the day of Prince Phillip’s funeral about the thoughtfully-designed wreath that she had ordered and had sent, with a handwritten note in her calligraphy, to St George’s chapel.

I'd forgotten that one Serenster Hmm

As an example of vulgarity and "making it all about me" it was better than many, but hardly a surprise by that stage

Mylovelygreendress · 02/04/2026 18:27

I seem to recall it was Omid Scobie who first released the photo .
Of course it could have been a coincidence.

This is so gross. They had caused PP and QEII when he was on end of life care so much distress by trashing his family and leaving the stench of racism hang over them all just to earn $$$ on the OW interview - and then they proactively send out a media release to gain some sort of kudos and muscle their way into centre stage on the day of his funeral. Who would actually do something so crass?

CanISeeYourLicence · 02/04/2026 19:35

'Who would do something so crass?'

Someone who names their kid Lilibet Diana in order to anvil drop references to the connections and monetise '6th in line to the throne you know'

I thought that was unbelievably crass tbh.

Agree - totally shameful. They also lied that QEII had agreed in advance and threatened to sue …. but then didn’t.

Poor Doria - didn’t get a mention. By the way anyone know why she has retreated from public life and why MM never mentions her? It’s been about 3 years now I think?

Doria was in the TV series but didn't seem that happy or very impressed with the food. Not sure why they bothered. Agree that she was treated badly in the naming the kids stakes.
