Prince Harry and Meghan’s huge Aussie plans revealed. Visit to Sydney and Melbourne in Mid-April.

EXCLUSIVE

More than seven years after then-newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan embarked on their hugely successful Aussie tour, the couple is reportedly heading back Down Under.

A source confirmed exclusively to news.com.au that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to visit Sydney and Melbourne in mid-April.

While their last trip to our shores was in an official capacity as working members of the royal family, this time around they’re travelling as private citizens – and it’s understood they’ll be focusing on activities related to their businesses and philanthropic work.

Details of their specific plans remain unclear, but it’s been rumoured that Meghan will appear as a guest on the Her Best Life podcast, which was initially launched and co-hosted by Jackie “O” Henderson and Gemma O’Neill through their “Besties” company. Earlier this year, just a couple of weeks before her high-profile and abrupt recent exit from her KIIS breakfast show, Henderson revealed that she had decided to “step away” from the venture.

It’s rumoured that Meghan will also appear as a special guest at an upcoming “Besties” event, following in the footsteps of previous VIP speaker Gwyneth Paltrow.

The actress took part in a wide-ranging Q&A with Henderson back in 2023 which attracted around 3,000 ticketholders to the ICC in Sydney’s Darling Harbour – so Meghan’s appearance could be in a similar capacity.
Despite Henderson’s recent departure from the Besties company, she hinted last month that she may return in some capacity in the future - and perhaps Meghan’s involvement could be one such occasion.

Gwyneth Paltrow was the special guest at a Besties event, run by Henderson (left) and Gemma O'Neill, back in 2023 – and Meghan is now rumoured to follow in her footsteps. Picture: Supplied
While details of the couple’s itinerary are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, it’s likely that Harry’s plans will involve Australia’s armed forces or veterans’ community, given his strong connections to both.

It’s understood he also has a number of friends locally, fostered across multiple previous visits, including during his month-long stay with the ADF at an army barracks in Darwin back in 2015.
And in his 2023 memoir, Harry gushed over his time living in Australia as a 19-year-old in 2003.
He wrote in Spare that working as a jackaroo on a farm in rural Queensland had helped him find inner peace during what were “some of the best” weeks of his life.

It’s not yet known whether the Sussexes’ children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, will join them on the trip next month or stay back at the family’s home in Montecito, California.

News.com.au understands that the royal couple’s Aussie visit has been in the works for almost a year.

It's only with hindsight that we know they could not get there in time

Yes that's perfectly true, @Treylime
Horrible though it would have been at the time, I suppose I was just hoping it would have been some comfort to the others to realise they'd never have made it, but who knows?

And I strongly suspect, @Rhaidimiddim, that the possibility of Harry "spoiling for Round Two" may have informed C&W's decision to leave before he got there.
You'd hope even he would have had the sensitivity to put a sock in it for once, but a lot of things have been hoped for him and unfortunately he's trashed the lot

Even in his own book , his treatment and tone was very clear and his disgusting behaviour and comments to his father while his mother was passing, paint quite the picture!
I imagine if his own version is damning then the actual conversation was much , much worse.

I’ve barely noticed them this last year. They’re not exactly BTS level, so why are they making big announcements to the world about their future holiday plans?

Sorry if this is an inappropriate question puzzled but I can’t help but notice that you have not been on any of the ( thinking of wording here🤔 ) republicanesqe threads !
are you ok? Or is it just too depressing for you?
( sorry I know that’s nosey of me!)

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/04/2026 19:26

Not inappropriate at all, @jeffgoldblum, and "thank you for asking, not many have" Wink Grin

I'm absolutely fine, but which threads did you have in mind? I wasn't aware there was anything specifically "republican", at least on the RF board, but maybe I've missed some?

I suppose I mean all the other ones! 🤣 , I noticed Cathy is scarse too! , personally they all seem to be about blaming William for everything the others do ! But recollections may vary! 🤣 , it’s just without you and Cathy , the only measured voices are gone! 😢

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/04/2026 19:43

Ah yes, I noticed something about William "not addressing the elephant in the room*, @jeffgoldblum, and there's another about Beatrice and Eugenie supposedly not being invited to Ascot, but I couldn't care less about the second and anyway I figured people would have had enough of my musings just on the ones I'm on!!

I’ve barely noticed them this last year. They’re not exactly BTS level, so why are they making big announcements to the world about their future holiday plans?

Because they have already asked and been rejected I would imagine - so refusing to take ‘No’ for an answer the have now gone public to try to shame KC3 into it - but as the ‘palace source’ has said ‘there is too much bitterness and not enough trust’ in the relationship to accommodate PH. Also think PH has IG board pressurising him to secure KC3 appearance at the games next year - which they need to confirm now in order to boost ticket sales and gain sponsorship - otherwise the whole IG could go under as the council tax payers of Birmingham can’t absorb the mounting costs of H&Ms shenanigans in this increasingly difficult economic climate.

PullTheBricksDown · 01/04/2026 20:28

CanISeeYourLicence · 01/04/2026 11:09

And as I recall, this is why PH arrived so late in the end. He was apparently arguing with Charles about wanting MM there and the plane taking him could not take off. If i recall correctly that's one reason why William, Edward and Sophie left without him. He was holding them up.

Another person I feel for is when Sophie was tasked with riding in the funeral carriage alone with MM and I assume that none of the other Royals whose reputation she had besmirched wanted to be near her. Sophie really drew the short straw there. I imagine there was not a great deal of conversation.

Sophie got the measure of Meghan quite a way back. Remember her stare that made the bizarrely grinning Meghan drop her eyes at the Commonwealth Day service just before they left? It's at the end of this clip

Chainlinkferry · 01/04/2026 20:43

Rhaidimiddim · 01/04/2026 18:17

Harfy would have been fuming about missing the plane. M would havs been fuming about not being invited ans being left alobe in a hostile location ( and you can bet she was calling for updates and a moan).

H himself tells us he gave his dad a row earlier in the day. He would hzvd been spoiling for Round Two at Balmoral.

C and W would have been perfectly in the right, IMHO, to remove themselves from his obnoxious presence thst evening. I would have.

I agree by the evening the damage was already done.

Lunde · 01/04/2026 23:01

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/04/2026 17:10

There must have been a lot of bad feeling that PH's tantrum about MM delayed the Queen's children from reaching Balmoral

I'm sure there was, @Lunde. Nobody needs angst like that at such a time, but I doubt Harry's ugly behaviour was a surprise to many

However if memory serves, the aircraft hung around for about an hour before leaving and with the drive from Aberdeen to Balmoral they arrived just before 5pm, so regardless of whether the delay was actually about Harry they'd have missed her death anyway

I understand that they probably would not have made it in time - but I can't imagine the tension of hanging around on the tarmac for over an hour on the day of your mother's death because a spoilt grandson is throwing a tantrum to get better content for his Netflix show.

I think it did cause a rift as it was noticeable at the funeral when they left the chapel at Windsor - nobody spoke to them... not even the York sisters who usually chatted with them. Meghan was clearly furious and glared at Harry when they got in the car.

MrsLeonFarrell · 02/04/2026 06:43

At the time I'm pretty sure the line was that Charles and William had a lot to discuss about their new roles, hence why they ate together and no with everyone else. That seemed pretty sensible to me, they had to step into new positions immediately whilst grieving.

Harry's behaviour throughout, as demonstrated in his own words, just does how emotionally immature he is and unable to consider anyone but himself.

@Puzzledandpissedoff I agree with others that you are a valued voice here.

MrsLeonFarrell · 02/04/2026 06:45

On the subject of Sophie getting the short straw driving when Meghan, I think that was just protocol. It was fortunate it was Sophie but there wasn't another royal woman anyway. Camilla and Catherine took the first car, Anne was riding which meant Sophie and Meghan got the next car.

Those comments from the 'spokesperson' is petulant and the existence of the petition clearly got under the skin.

Who do we know who responds to anything other than adoration with petulance and footstamping immaturity. I can think of 2 people.

Trump and..?

StrawberryWasp · 02/04/2026 10:00

I thought at the time it was weird that even Harry got to Balmoral when the queen died. Why him but not the other grandchildren?

I can see why William because of the line of succession being represented but on a personal basis why would Harry be there but not Zara or Eugenie?

Also of course Catherine wasn't going to go. She has children and her husband doesn't need her to hold his hand.

In most families one adult goes to their loved ones bedside while the other keeps things running for the kids. Perfectly normal.

Different for Sophie as her kids are older and she was personally very close.

Why does Harry think he's more special than the other grandkids? Just the accident of his birth...does he not see the irony in then whining about being the Spare?

No of course he doesn't.

Harry was still a counsellor of state.

Recklessismymiddlename · 02/04/2026 10:51

Sophie was also a daughter in law, not a grandchild. When FIL was dying, none of the grandchildren were there, at the time although all were older. Some were adults. But all of us spouses were there with FIL DCs. If that makes sense.

JSMill · 02/04/2026 10:59

Does he not see the irony at then whining about the spare?
Absolutely. He’s a complete idiot.

I understand that Sophie had a close personal relationship with the Queen, so her presence was more to do with that than being a spouse of a son.

If they'd wanted to, they cold have bundled her in with some Yorks.

I think Sophie was a deliberate choice, as someone with the Headmistress vibe who would spot, and head off, any trouble.

Maybe he was invited as the King's son to be a supportive presence? Charles might have still Ben under the illusion Harry was helpful in those days?
