Thomas Markle very ill

I've just read Thomas Markle is in hospital intensive care. He has been treated poorly by Meghan. I doubt if the pair will have anything to say about this. Though they've always plenty to say about a lot of things. Doubt they'll be rushing to his bedside.

I completely respect Meghan Markle’s decision not to have TM in her life, or to let him see her children just because he demands it. Her reasons are her business and nobody else’s. I think their relationship is more complicated than has ever been made public and she may have been desperate to break away when she was trawling London for a rich husband.

This is where I have a problem though. Even though TM is probably a money pit and she would be forever being tapped for cash, the fact is, she now has a lot of it and he has little. His life expectancy is short, this situation will come to an end before long. She could make his final years comfortable at the drop of a hat.

If there’s a volte-face you can be sure the motive will be self interest, because it always is.

It just does not sit well.

There is a Daily Mail journalist sitting at his bedside, being given permission to speak to his doctors and report on his condition, and to check with hospital staff if Meghan has tried to contact her father or not. He rang the journalist before he rang his own son, who is living in the Phillipines as a ‘carer’ for his dad, to tell her of the amputation. The journalist has know Markle snr for years, at one point she moved to live next door to him. The journalist considers Thomas her father figure.

Apparently it’s not only Meghan who owes him, or Harry owes him, but the Royal Family also owes him.

They owe me," Markle said in the documentary. "The royals owe me, Harry owes me, Meghan owes me. What I've been through, I should be rewarded for.”

He also said his wedding preparation pictures still bring him money, as they will sell forever.

Markle, who did not attend his daughter's wedding in 2018, also opened up about the staged paparazzi photos that got him in hot water with Meghan and contributed to his absence at the wedding. He was asked if he is still making money off the photos.
"Absolutely,'' he said. "Those pictures will sell forever."

Indeed. Does anyone truly believe M would have her Dad in a Moss Bros type non bespoke suit all at the last minute? She’d not want him showing her up!

Her father would also have been in a UK health spa & had a make over & fittings for a suit. Guidance too, for the big day.

Agreed. The way people behave about him pictured being measured for a suit is akin to killing someone! It’s incredibly OTT when his daughter has done so much worse but that’s all conveniently ignored.

He wasn’t being measured up for a suit though was he? He had collaborated with a paparazzi photographer to create seemingly candid shots where he was posing looking at articles on the royal wedding in an internet cafe and being fitted for a wedding suit!

It was all fake and he did this for money.

If he was a good father, he would not be trying to make a fast buck out of his daughter’s wedding.

Also, when the shots were discovered to be set ups, it attracted the wrong sort of attention when MM was already struggling with an onslaught of tabloid stories.

And it made a mockery of the whole thing. So it was both disrespectful and selfish.

He was being measured for a suit he wasn’t walking down the street with a gun. That’s it. So what he got paid. His daughter also got paid for doing the EXACT same thing

How many times! He wasn’t being fitted for a suit. It was all fake!

Why so super supporters always resort to lies? Especially when their idol is on record requesting them to tell the truth?

And how many more times are you completely going to over react to him trying on a suit-is that better phrasing for you? Also the fact STILL remains his daughter has done the same thing tenfold.

You could argue she was disrespectful, dishonest & selfish too. She clearly had no intention he ever came to the wedding & as he’s not the smartest or most sophisticated he fell into traps she set - e.g. letter leaking. He was never part of her plan from the moment she met Harry.

Oh come on, the bumbling, frail, not-too-bright persona was created by Piers Morgan.

TM worked as a lighting director for years in LA. He wasn’t remotely naieve or incompetent. He knew what he was doing.

He even blatantly said “she owes me” at the end of that documentary. He is not a nice person.

I am not necessarily saying Meghan is exactly a pushover either. But she may have had very good reason to give him a swerve.

It’s not actually. You believe what you want to believe. The media only started to question their version of the truth when their claims were easily refuted. Do you really expect the media or the public not to question lies being peddled to them or should they everyone keep quiet because it suits your version of the truth? Again everything that Thomas Markle had done his daughter has also done on a worldwide scale (with Harry’s help) yet I don’t hear a whit of criticism towards her or Harry.

He’s clearly savvy & technically minded but M is intellectually way smarter, cunning & more cultured. Her days on set & feeling an outsider at private school fostered early steely ambition IMO. He doesn’t feel terribly pleasant I agree & he made the mistake of worshipping M & loving her above & beyond his other children.

I agree also she had every reason to give him a swerve! BUT she’s pretended otherwise for a very long time, there’s the deceit. There’s no way she had any intention of him hobnobbing with PC & Camilla & walking her down the aisle.

It is quite revealing that the super supporters avoid the reality that throughout his courtship of M, H never met TM. They always start the clock from the pap photos.

The thing is that’s not what she claimed & she has then pretended travel schedules conspired against etc.

He - TM - clearly thought something was up & became upset. I think he thought he’d be there at wedding & meet H prior. He’s not Michael Middleton & was clearly an accident waiting to happen & one redneck gaffe/embarrassing step away from messing up her plans. As she saw it, anyway, IMO.

Not just saying this but I honestly didn’t get the sense she wanted to exclude TM from the wedding at the outset. I think that’s a narrative posters are imposing on the situation in retrospect, for their own reasons.

If anything, I think it was far more embarrassing and upsetting for her that she had no father to walk her down the aisle and the whole thing went pear shape in such a public way.

BTW, for the record, I am not a particular admirer of MM, I am not a member of the Sussex Supporters or whoever they are, I am just someone who dislikes on-line pile-ons and people attributing thoughts and motivations to people they don’t know as if they were fact.

Yes. He’s a lighting director who won an Emmy and other awards. He’s perfectly capable of acquiring a well tailored suit.
