Thomas Markle very ill

I've just read Thomas Markle is in hospital intensive care. He has been treated poorly by Meghan. I doubt if the pair will have anything to say about this. Though they've always plenty to say about a lot of things. Doubt they'll be rushing to his bedside.

Clearly you haven’t read my posts on the matter and just want to argue.

I answered saying what I think I’d do. Because I’m not a patsy and will do what I like regardless of what anyone tells me to do and in those shoes I’d want to know.

But I’ve also said plenty of times that I do not judge Meghan for whatever it is she chose to do nor hold her responsible for her family’s behavior.

If you want to talk about what would be best for the victims then my course of action would make a hell of a lot more sense than what she has claimed to have done. So don’t criticise me for it.

No, I don't want to argue.

This is an immensely distressing subject to me, and to many, for obvious reasons.

You told me to call it out. I did try and was attacked. I don't have the stomach to engage with such people.

But I refuse to be silent on this matter.

I don't care what you say, you are a part of those long threads, and that says enough for me about whether or not you "judge Meghan".

clarissadavenport · 25/10/2026 21:36

You really are confused. First, you said:

Meghan seems to have received information only one other person had, and not bothered to pass it on to the authorities

I'm not going to go and source out other more official statements which make it clear what she was advised to do, after reading this letter alleging her father travelled to various countries to abuse children.

The letter was addressed to her and shown to her because the author who wrote it was concerned for MM's children, which MM then ensured never encountered this person. She was led to believe the matter was being investigated and the appropriate authorities in the countries concerned notified.

then make an announcement about it 8 years later

The trove of thousands of CSA material and images was only recently made public - and includes film negative evidence of Thomas Markle Sr having sex with a child - and is an entirely different though related matter.

Obviously, as it has been made public (though sections of the press were aware of the original letter and still cosied up to Markle to slam MM) she is able to comment.

Meghan didn’t have any children at this point.

You’re way ahead of me with the news because I’ve not seen any of what you shared above.

Something new might change my opinion, but so far, not really.

Fuck me sideways, she was pregnant at the time she was notified of this letter. The letter was sent in concern for the child she was going to give birth to. She then - from that point - ensured her children never met her father.

eh? You were unaware that Meghan's half brother ( the one who has spent years engaging in public conspiracy theories about her) has handed boxes of CSA materials over to the police? What do you think people are talking about?

I’m in and out of the long threads. Not exactly a prolific poster. I do judge the daylights out of her behaviour. Harry’s too. But I am consistent with my values, and I am not going to bash her over her father’s actions or her reaction to learning about it.

I absolutely will point out the lunacy of going on Oprah and blaming her MH crisis on Harry’s family while this situation with her father was going on behind the scenes. It was profoundly unfair.

I’ve read nothing about why the letter was sent and why it was sent to the Met rather than to her directly. Only learned it was from his ex wife a few hours ago. Nothing about what she was advised to do, either.

Of course I’m aware of Thomas Jr’s Sun article.

clarissadavenport · 25/10/2026 22:06

Here's an article on it, by one of TM's biggest supporters, which explains how it went down.

Duchess of Sussex ‘deeply distressed’ over child sexual abuse image claims against father | Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex | The Guardian

Apart from being so confused and ill-informed on it, why are you banging on about the letter you know so little about, and mentioning Oprah, if you are aware of Thomas Markle's vast trove of CSA material - which you downplay by calling it 'Thomas Jr's Sun article" as if it is just some scuttlebutt.

TheHatTrick · 25/10/2026 22:15

No, you don’t get to do that, act like I don’t know about what was reported because I didn’t write out the details.

Why are you here talking about Meghan as if she was the victim, exactly? You know none of this is actually about her, don’t you?

I mean, we know she doesn’t but would expect others to recognise it.

Excuse me? You yourself have made it abundantly clear you don't know about the letter from January 2019.

If you know about the details of what has been uncovered and is being forensically examined currently, why do you breeze over it in all your responses?

Why are you here talking about Meghan as if she was the victim, exactly? You know none of this is actually about her, don’t you?

Hahahahaha. Go tell that to your buddies on the 1000 post threads.

This is an article about Meghan. Poor Poor Meghan. Did you hear what happened to her?

I think I’ve changed my mind here and find her complete inaction quite a bit harder to defend. Thanks for the education.

TheHatTrick · 25/10/2026 22:32

Give over.

I read about the letter two days ago when Meghan made her announcement about it. It wasn’t explained who sent it until later, and more info is coming out about hourly, courtesy of The Markle Show.

Hope someone will console Meghan for the sad, sad thing that happened to her. The rest of us can worry about the actual victims.

clarissadavenport · 25/10/2026 22:44

Yes, you seem very worried about the victims.

Dailyfailare · 25/10/2026 22:44

Have some compassion people. He may or may not have outright abused MM but there will be interactions from her childhood she’s now rethinking and her stomach is probably churning .

Additionally she now needs to deal with the scores of people indirectly blaming her for not doing x y or z or for doing a,b,c. Furthermore, it’s emotionally and mentally damaging to find out your father is guilty of CSA. She may feel some tremendous guilt and shame. It’s something akin to secondary trauma at least.

I was very distressed finding out years later when we were all adults that my childhood family friend was an abuser of his siblings and other children in our neighbourhood.

Of course it was about them and not me and I did support the real victims as adults and while they were going through the legal system etc and didn’t let on how I feel .

I am not saying I know how they feel, but I had my own heartache to process at being so close to an abuser and the shock I felt when I realised who he was. I viewed him like an old brother and was always fond of him. It did make me question all our interactions.

I can’t even imagine how it would feel to find out your actual mum or dad did something like that

Dailyfailare · 25/10/2026 22:49

Ellaelle · 25/10/2026 11:34

Yes very unhinged posts. As long as it's about Meghan anything goes! Its terrifying that these people still sympathise with her dad absolutely terrifying and would like to blame Meghan for everything. Worst of it all is that this site allows her to be bullied relentlessly. Quite disgusting if you ask me!

Scary stuff! Misogyny meets racism meets RF worship.

They don’t even see her as human.

This type of witless reply belies a poster’s ability to engage in anything beyond pointless name calling and ad hominem attacks.

Next!

It's not an ad hominem attack, more like a general sarcastic observation about royalists' reasoning. There was nothing personal to you in my statement...unlike the tons of nasty personal comments I see about Meghan here all the time. If anything your comment to me was far more pointed and insulting, but 🤷‍♀️

Anyway as you said - Next!

This is all getting so distasteful. I can't believe we're on here debating the minuatie of the exact date she received the letter or who the Met sent it to when there were little girls being abused by that odious man. The whole thing is sickening - from what happened to what we're focusing on now that the truth is coming out.

More name calling.

I’d like to respond to the rest of your post, but I don’t see any reason to bother because you’re obsession with “royalists” and decision to describe me as one means there is no point.

You are here so that means you part of this place. Maybe focus inward a bit.

What name calling? I'm giving a description of what I said in my previous comment. I mean you called my reply 'witless' 😂 That seems pretty personal too but I'm not going to fixate on it. Again, nothing I said was personal to you.

We're clearly not going to see eye to eye on this all I'll say to you is this. I barely visit this side of Mumsnet. I don't care for either side of this debate. I'm not a fan of the conventional Royals and I'm not a particular fan of the Sussexes. What I am is disturbed to see people focusing on all sorts of things except the alleged pedophile in the midst of a pedophile scandal. And to be clear, this is a general comment, NOT directed at you.

I am also disturbed to see a woman obsessively and relentlessly attacked and disparaged by other women. She doesn't impact any of our lives, she's not that important, she doesn't shape public policy, she's not starting wars or cutting public budgets. I simply don't understand it.

TheHatTrick · Yesterday 00:09

“The mental gymnastics the Sussex Supporters use should be studied.”

See how I did that? Diminished you and everything you said with one sentence. Using your own words.

If you want to pretend that’s not ad hominem, sell it to someone else.

No point! , poor Meghan is the victim here …these poor children don’t apparently count at all , as long as poor Meghan is defended and coddled!

simpsonthecat · Yesterday 00:37

It's all about the victims, the children, the innocents whose lives will have been changed forever.

However, whilst we think of them, we can also feel dreadfully sorry for a daughter, Meghan, who has found out her father has committed unspeakable acts against defenceless children. She is thinking of them. I am too. And I can extend a lot of sympathy to Meghan. She will be rewriting her childhood.
You call that coddling if you wish. 😮

I call it empathy woman to woman.

No ! ..I don’t give a damn about Meghan ! , I have children! I would kill for them and other defenceless children, priorities should be clear here!!! , the victims are the children not vapid , attention seeking celebrities! …I don’t care what anyone says , if you can’t see that then I will judge you accordingly.

simpsonthecat · Yesterday 00:55

I know you don't give a damn about Meghan. There's no need whatsoever to spell it out to me.
My post sums up what I feel about this. That is enough for me

You judge me 😮, that is unimportant and irrelevant to me so there's no further point in engaging.
Good night.

I do have a great deal of empathy for her. I did while the drama with her father unfolded during the wedding, also.

It just does not excuse nor erase the way Harry and Meghan have treated his family. That’s always been the problem for me.

The message she put out about this really dragged up the past due to the timeline. It will have reminded many of the stories they told and hate they fomented against Catherine, William, Charles and Camilla. That’s the part that will not be rewritten.
