Andrew lownie on BBC saying he thinks that a deal was done to keep Beatrice and Eugenie in the royal family. Also that he thinks Andrew will now be thrown under the bus to protect the RF

I don’t think you can really say Andrew’s been thrown under the bus here given his own past conduct, including lying about his contact with Epstein, is the reason why he’s facing consequences. Jes Staley, ex-CEO of Barclays lost his job and has been banned from working the City for the same reason. They are reaping the consequences of their own choices.

Good to see KC acting. I never I thought I'd see the day an english prince was stripped of his royal title.

Does anyone know the last time this happened?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/10/2025 19:29

I wonder if something else is about to come out about him!

Very possibly, @Thedom, but right now I'm interested to see if Andrew will retaliate

Also, what happened to the lengthy lease which so many insisted Charles could do nothing about? Confused

I rather like Harry - he's doing it his own way, even if making mistakes with his book etc. The way he took on the press, brave. His uncle is just a useless, horrible sex abuser.

Yes he is doing it his way. Publicly trashing and embarrassing his brother and family and the sister in law who had been so good to him.

Full statement

"His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew.

His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.

Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse."

Excellent 👍.
Fantastic last point about the victims. Absolutely spot on.

PiccadillyPurple · 30/10/2025 19:30

Well done, Charles.

CrimsonStoat · 30/10/2025 19:30

Bumblebee72 · 30/10/2025 19:26

That statement heavily implies that the King considers him to be guilty.

I think it's fairly obvious when they talk about victims of abuse that they believe him to be a perpetrator of abuse.

Nah, in the old days they just chopped off their heads! 😆

Yes. Good.
It couldn't be clearer.

I’m on an interminably long train journey and this news has fair cheered me up. 🍻

Wood Farm is the speculation.

Noooooo I really hope not. We don’t want him here. I would actually protest at this

TheLivelyRose · 30/10/2025 19:31

Imaginethatifyoucan · 30/10/2025 19:11

Let’s hope Harry is next

The late Queen didn't have the heart to do it to her own son.

Charles probably won't have the heart to do it to harry his son. Once charles is dead and William's on the throne. All bets are off.

Viviennemary · 30/10/2025 19:31

I just read this. At first I thought it was fake news. But it appears its not. Well its a surprise to me. But right thing to do. Enough is enough.

I expect William put pressure on his dad.

I wonder if certain other non working royals are getting a wee bit worried about how far William might swing the axe when he himself is King.

SwirlyShirly · 30/10/2025 19:31

The ‘notwithstanding’ bit says a lot about what they think of him I think. That’s quite strongly worded for a BP statement.

The statement says “formal notice has been served to surrender the lease”. It’s the tenant who surrenders a lease, not the landlord, so Andrew has obviously been prevailed upon to quit the lease himself.

mumofsixfluffs · 30/10/2025 19:31

They should house him amongst commoners in a council house just so he really feels his fall. I’ve nothing against council houses and I don’t mean commoners as a slur but that is how he must view the general public thinking we are all stupid. Happy Christmas Andrew!!!

OFFS shut up about Harry. This thread is about a PEDOPHILE and you are still moaning on about Harry and Meghan. I'm not a fan of either of them but their poor behaviour absolutely is insignificant compared to Andrew's crimes.

I think it's been in the hands of a legal firm? They must have found a way to break it.

Flixon · 30/10/2025 19:32

He is guilty of being a liar, we know that. I think 99% of people believe he’s guilty of sexual relations with a trafficked young woman. He is without remorse , humility or any shred of compassion for Epstein’s victims. He deserves to be tried in a Court of Law. This is a good start.

Good decision. Now KC needs to go through parliament and remove Andrew and Harry as Counsellors of State.

During the First World War iirc. Some royal Dukes who were pro German lost their titles.

I'd feel sorry for the decent council house tenants having him for a neighbour!

Yes, I said he has made mistakes with book etc. Was that not clear in my post? Didn't think needed reiterating.
