Let’s hope Harry is next

I no fan of any royal, but what in God's earth has Harry done can be remotely likened to Andrews carry on?

Haven’t read the whole thread, but I read over the weekend that he’ll always be a prince because he’s the child of a monarch. So no longer Duke of York but still Prince Andrew.

He isn't a Prince any more. King Charles has just stripped him of that title.

Fascinating rise of momentum from the Lownie book, the Giuffre book, the laughing at the funeral and the release of the emails showing he had lied in the Maitlis interview.
It is heartening to see that pressure and evidence and public opinion can bring about change.

Yes, this step hasn't happened as a result of only one thing. It's been many things, coming together within a short space of time.

As one of life's general rules, I think that everything happens for lots of contributory reasons, never for just one or two.

I assume Fergie will go to live with one of her daughters if Sandringham isn’t for her.

That said, before the scandal broke, I’d assumed Andrew and Fergie would quietly remarry once Queen Elizabeth II died. They’ve lived like they are back together for 20+ years. I remember reading that the late Queen was very upset about the divorce and angry at Fergie, so they wouldn’t remarry in her lifetime.

Imagine having your mother come live with you and your husband and kids at that stage of life... and your mother being Fergie!

Much as I dislike Andrew and Sarah, they do seem to love each other in their weird way, despite all the affairs and scandal and divorce. They can't seem to really give each other up.

Catwalking · 31/10/2025 07:06

You’re suggesting children are responsible for the actions of their parents?

I think most people if they found out their parent had been using prostitutes essentially and lying about it on a grand scale, and associating with someone who acted as a pimp and trafficked women, whilst calling these people friends would not want anything to do with their parent again.

Tubestrike · 31/10/2025 07:39

I really hope not. Epstein is dead, so what exactly do his victims want from all this? Do people really want all this raked over

Justice , just because someone is dead doesn't erase their crimes. And yes, people do want this to be 'raked over' .

kingtamponthefurred · 31/10/2025 07:39

Imagine having your mother come live with you and your husband and kids at that stage of life... and your mother being Fergie!

Now that could be the premise for a really cracking soap opera.

Flixon · 31/10/2025 07:41

I am no fan of H & M and I would like to see the titles of Prince /Princess restricted to immediate family of the heir- so Charlotte is Princess, but any children she may have are not. However, nothing H&M have done can compare with the immoral, shameless behaviour of Andrew MB. Guilty of a ‘crime’ or not (and I believe he is 100% guilty) he has lied, and shown no remorse . He has been unable to resist trying to be front and centre of any opportunity to be seen. He has created his own downfall.

Charles now needs to go one step further and demand that everyone who associated with Epstein and flew on that jet multiple times (for likely one reason and one reason only) is exposed and investigated. Otherwise this is, as others have said, Royal Family just protecting itself. I don't think they could give a shit about the victims, they're only bothered about contagion.

Charles cannot demand any such thing.
This is about due process of law.

hairbearbunches · 31/10/2025 07:41

MrsLeonFarrell · 31/10/2025 07:29

This is a scandal. Only Peter Mandelson and Andrew have had any consequences for contact with Epstein, both English, as is Maxwell. Where is the accountability in other countries?

The odious Mandelson has faced very little consequence yet and nothing like on the scale of Andrew Windsor. The wanker is still very much a valued member of the House of Lords.

Very good point. How come he's not being held to account?

2010Aussie · 30/10/2025 22:08

Well Andrew's belief that he hasn't done anything wrong for a start.

A witch hunt is basically when a group or an individual are hounded for what they have allegedly done or said. I have seen at first hand a situation where people have been falsely accused of child abuse where the alleged victim has had no proof of their involvement. It ruins people's lives.

Andrew doesn't think that he has done anything wrong as he is a thoroughly deluded, unpleasant and entitled man who thought that his position as a son of a reigning Queen meant that he had an absolute 'droit de seigneur' and could have sex with sex trafficked women with no consequences, legal or otherwise.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 31/10/2025 07:45

@ThatCyanCat- if he hadn’t been exposed as abusive and possibly also a spy, I reckon we’d be currently sold their great love story, remarrying in later life, always were the one for each other - there would be think pieces about couples who dated when young then got together later in life, lots of about were some couples too quick to divorce etc.

If he wasn’t so vile, this would be lovely PR for the Royal family, and would quietly show Charles as more forgiving and modern than his mother.

myrtleWilson · 31/10/2025 07:45

@FluentOP i think she just referred to an ex PM but didn’t specify nationality.

JakBaraksCodpiece · 31/10/2025 07:49

Whilst I do hope more people are held to account with links to Epstein, personally I hope the pressure is kept up and the press/public aren't distracted by the offering up of Andrew as a sacrificial lamb. Hopefully this triggers a more in-depth look at royal finances and property also. It is ridiculous they are in receipt of multiple millions of pounds a year by the Government yet we know so little about their finances. Why TF does Beatrice and Eugene have grace and favour apartments at Kensington Palace? What do either of them do for the UK taxpayer? If KC and William really want to modernise they could start with cutting off the grifters and hangers on.

I can't understand how B and E stay princesses? I thought they were only princesses because their father insisted and had a case because he was a prince himself. Nothing against them, none of this is their fault, but if their being princesses was contingent on their father's title, how do they keep their titles if he loses his?

They are princesses because they are grandchildren of the (then) monarch on the male line (Andrew). Same as Archie and Lilli.

sashh · 31/10/2025 07:55

Kahar · 30/10/2025 20:54

But is not giving up the title and the lodge not conceding that these claims are true? I just mean from the Royal Family’s perspective why do this? It just basically confirms Andy’s guilt. Why would the firm do this?

Im not an Andy defender. Weirdo gives me the creeps. Just curious

There is a lot more that isn't talked about but is in the Andrew Lownie book. dodgy deals in various places. That might, sadly, be the actual reason for this rather than VG's accusations.

If you start looking at AMW's finances you might be interested in the rest of the family's finances.

I like the idea though of AMW being sent to the same house Prince John was sent to when he was withdrawn from public view.

I thought he'd been removed from the Lords. I'm getting him mixed up with someone else.

He has a few million probably but not multi. He has no funding from the sovereign grant just a pension from the navy. I don’t believe either the Queen or queen mother left lots to all 4. Most would go to Charles as king

he certainly didn’t have the millions to pay off Virginia the Queen had to do that

and look at the chalet he and Fergie bought, they didn’t have the money to pay for that either

he relays on ‘gifts’ from dodgy businessman and that’s s going to stop now as he is banished so no use to them

so he’s in for a tightening of the belts, and serve him right

The chalet was £18 mil - in typical style he didn’t pay in full at time but how was he even in the market for this? That’s some gift from a dodgy businessman!

I agree with your post, apart from calling Virginia a prostitute. I don't have the stomach to read her book, but I believe that one of the points that puts Andy MB outside civilised society is that these were not women trading sex for money, but children being put in situations where they couldn't say no.

@FluentOP
It was an ex Israeli prime minister.

TheBoolahBus · 31/10/2025 08:01

As much as I have some sympathy for B&E, I reserve my greater sympathy for the children of VG. A worldwide published book detailing the grotesque abuse their mother suffered. I hope they have good people around them.

FluentOP · 31/10/2025 08:01

ThatCalmFinch · 30/10/2025 23:28

Well both E&B London homes are grace and favour apartments at St James's Palace and Kensington Palace so she might not want to go to either of those. One of them owns a home in the Cotswolds as well though so maybe she will go there.

Why do Beatrice and Eugene have grace and favour apartments at St James Palace ? They are not working royals. The royal family are a load of freeloading scroungers.
