I think the £12m isn't proven - either the amount or where it came from
All we know is that VG was "paid off".
However, you'd think they'd look at all the other evidence and his behaviour and come to the same conclusion as the rest of us.
However, I have heard they're as entitled as he is.

Yes the £12 million gets bandied around as fact but it was only ever speculation and at the time it was seen as an inflated figure.

I do believe that Andrew was pressured to settle to protect the Jubilee rather than as a matter of guilt or innocence. Even now I'm not sure he would have been found guilty in court (which doesn't mean I think he is innocent). I'm going by the low rate of convictions in sex crimes in general. These consequences, whilst not legal, are probably the most hurtful to him personally that we can expect at this point.

Yes, I agree. I think that yesterday's events will be a significant punishment for him for the moment.
As you say, it's not been proven in court, although I think we all know what the story is .

"I honestly don't understand why his daughters haven't disowned him".
That is a very good point.

You’re suggesting children are responsible for the actions of their parents?

No?

I really hope not. Epstein is dead, so what exactly do his victims want from all this? Do people really want all this raked over?

You really hope that the Epstein files aren't released and that other rich and powerful men who raped sex trafficked women provided by Jeffrey Epstein can still keep avoiding the consequences of their disgusting actions?

You are an apologist for sex offenders who preyed upon vulnerable women and girls.

Decent people with a moral compass want to see justice done.

The key word there is ALLEGED. Virginia Giuffre was paid a lot of money to keep quiet and didn't. What happened to the cash I wonder?

Andrew paid the money to keep out of court. That is why his crimes are ALLEGED. Thanks to mummy, he was in a position to be able to pay £12 million to avoid the legal consequences of his actions.

Yes. Shame TLQ wasnt more upset about her son using women for sex, borrowing money from sex offenders and spies and using Trade envoy and Royal visits to enrich himself at the taxpayers expense as she allegedly was about her grandson using her nickname as a name for his daughter.

I am incredibly frustrated that TLQ didn’t do this in her reign.

So he will be Andrew Windsor? Will he get a council property!

He’s been in social housing for most of his life.

FluentOP · 31/10/2025 07:18

Yiayoula · 30/10/2025 19:08

I didn’t think Charles would do it .
Well played, Sir ! 👏

He didn’t really have a choice after so much public pressure . The RF has cut off its arm to save the rest of its body. They had been gradually bringing him back. There should be a full Inquiry into the whole Epstein saga on both sides of the pond. There should also be an investigation into the funding of the royal family.

JoeMarlerseyes · 30/10/2025 19:11

I wonder where he will end up living.

Rumour has it he's eyeing up another, smaller, property to lease on the Windsor estate, which is fair enough if Charles is happy to do that, but apparently Fergie is considering one too. WTF? She's divorced, why are the Royals even considering helping her find a house? I bet Princess Anne would tell her to naff off!!!

NewAgeNewMe · 31/10/2025 07:23

have said before and will say again. All those men and only a British woman & a dead American behind bars. And no one other man than Andrew Mountbatten Windsor rightly vilified. Why? I want justice for all those poor girls.

FluentOP · 31/10/2025 07:23

Yiayoula · 30/10/2025 19:14

@ShenandoahRiver - Are you saying Charles had to be forced ?
By whom ? ( genuine question).

Public opinion.

They won't live on the Windsor estate. Andrew will live on the Sandringham estate Ferguson will have to make her own living arrangements

hairbearbunches · 31/10/2025 07:26

Charles now needs to go one step further and demand that everyone who associated with Epstein and flew on that jet multiple times (for likely one reason and one reason only) is exposed and investigated. Otherwise this is, as others have said, Royal Family just protecting itself. I don't think they could give a shit about the victims, they're only bothered about contagion.

I don't think she's done that since before they married. Does she even have any money? I can't keep track of the fortunes she's made and lost.

jumpingthehighjump · 31/10/2025 07:27

Sarah's got two daughters with rich husbands, I'm sure they'll see her alright

Exactly. There have been too many cover ups.

This is a scandal. Only Peter Mandelson and Andrew have had any consequences for contact with Epstein, both English, as is Maxwell. Where is the accountability in other countries?

ThatCyanCat · 31/10/2025 07:30

I can't understand how B and E stay princesses? I thought they were only princesses because their father insisted and had a case because he was a prince himself. Nothing against them, none of this is their fault, but if their being princesses was contingent on their father's title, how do they keep their titles if he loses his?

I’d forgotten to add Mandelson. Thank you

efit: and why no outcry anywhere else. Maybe there is and we don’t know it.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 31/10/2025 07:31

I assume Fergie will go to live with one of her daughters if Sandringham isn’t for her.

That said, before the scandal broke, I’d assumed Andrew and Fergie would quietly remarry once Queen Elizabeth II died. They’ve lived like they are back together for 20+ years. I remember reading that the late Queen was very upset about the divorce and angry at Fergie, so they wouldn’t remarry in her lifetime.

There should be a full Inquiry on both sides of the Atlantic . Virginia also said that an ex British Prime Minister abused and strangled her !!!

Surely not Windsor. I doubt Catherine would want Andrew anywhere near her dc. And rightly so.
