I guess so - and presumably the state pension too?

will he have paid any national insurance contributions towards it?

I wonder how much of Charles' reluctance was because the late Queen clearly had an Andrew shaped blind spot. I think we can all agree that the palace should have acted decisively much earlier but they have finally got there.

She did, but towards the end of her life she had acted decisively. She removed Andrew's patronages and military affiliations, and before her death he wasn't attending the family Christmas walk at Sandringham.

I've been uncomfortable with the recent spin that so much was because the Queen had a soft spot for Andrew, especially as he has been seen more prominently in public with the family since KC3 came to the throne.

Great news!

I hope it doesnt stop here and focus is now switched the current and former US presidents, that one will be harder though....

Agree. Absolutely the correct course of action has been taken here. Am now waiting to see which other friends of Epstein will be receiving their just desserts

Let’s hope Harry is next

Don’t be ridiculous

Hope all you witch hunters are happy now, then? Bully for you all.

Yes thanks .

Imaginethatifyoucan · 30/10/2025 19:29

Yes he is doing it his way. Publicly trashing and embarrassing his brother and family and the sister in law who had been so good to him.

Neither have been involved or associated with a convicted sex offender though!

Anyone who compares H&M to him are (to coin a well loved MN phrase) batshit!

No, they spend the holidays at Anmer Hall on Sandringham. They’ve never been very far from Andrew and seemingly that will continue.

Can’t be that pissed off with him.

Anmer and Wood farm are 4 miles apart.
Do you REALLY think they will be popping round to see each other?? Get real.
I don’t think William will see anything of Andrew again.

Personally I think moving Andrew to Wood farm is a good idea. Sandringham is a large estate with plenty for Andrew to do if he gets sick of watching Netflix. The estate has security so there’s no extra cost for the king, plus it could mean we never need see him again.
Wether or not he will be allowed to stay there when William becomes king is another matter - he will own Sandringham and may not want Andrew there.

I believe the King is very very unwell and that William will be king sooner rather than later. Somone on here called him workshy - a very nasty comment considering he is going to start doing a job that he will never be able to retire from, unlike the rest of us. I think he’s keeping a low profile ATM so his father can be ‘seen’ ( William & Catherine get more column inches than the King & Queen) and leave some sort of legacy for what will be (l expect) a short reign. I also think William is having a crash course in learning about being King - his father had decades to learn, William has been Prince of Wales for only 3 years.

I think stripping Andrew of all titles and moving him out of a crown estate property is the right move - although it should have been done well before now. I bet Andrew is wishing he had taken the offer to move into Frogmore Cottage when it was offered.
He has been an utter fool, desperate to live a profligate lifestyle he could not afford, when he could have had a life full of purpose and left a legacy as a war hero - instead he has destroyed himself, his daughters and has ruined his brothers reign. Entitled and a sex abuser - what an utter pig of a man.
I'm delighted no one will ever bow to him again.

Indigovelvet · 30/10/2025 21:32

Good news! Where's he moving to though - another Royal property?

I reckon they should be made to live a mould infested social housing flat and have to use the local food bank while passers by shout "shame"

JacknDiane · 30/10/2025 21:52

Indigovelvet · 30/10/2025 21:32

Yes. On the Sandringham estate, funded by Charlie boy.

Zippedydodah · 30/10/2025 21:52

These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him
This pretty much states he’s a blatant liar, couldn’t be clearer as to what Charles thinks.
And the fact that Ferguson has been told to find her own place? She’ll be furious that she can’t have Adelaide Cottage which she’s been eyeing up, what a pity!
No more photos of Andrew smirking as he rides in Windsor Great Park or swans around in his car 👏, no more photos of the ex-Yorks pushing themselves to the front.
I also imagine that there won’t be businesses or billionaires lining up to pay out money to them either. It will be interesting to see just how much we hear about them in the future ( I bet there’s a lot more scandal to emerge)

Laserwho · 30/10/2025 21:52

I hope this also means he will lose his servants so he has to fend for himself. He will have to sort his own teddies.

wordler · 30/10/2025 21:53

It’s odd that between Andrew’s own statement a week ago and now something has changed. One report is saying that Charles was angry that Andrew wasn’t contrite about any of it behind the scenes - maybe they could see that he would be pushing the boundaries without a more decisive line in the sand.

ConcordeSkyHigh · 30/10/2025 21:54

I think there will still be questions about how much was known in the Royal family.

NautilusLionfish · 30/10/2025 21:55

CrimsonStoat · 30/10/2025 19:13

Wow, at last. Mention of the abuse and the survivors of abuse.

exactly. And the statement "notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him".
No fluff

McSteamyorMcdreamy · 30/10/2025 21:55

When does it get mentioned in parliament?!!

lifeonmars100 · 30/10/2025 21:57

2010Aussie · 30/10/2025 21:15

It's certainly unusual.

well that is one way of expressing what all decent people know is a serious crime

Trust me Andrew didnt write that statement. I believe he was forced to sign and release it as a compromise. He did not give them up but they were yanked from him and he to save face, he was forced to write them. Left to his devices he would have been writing to Ghislaine in prison about fun times and what a friend she was. He man is vile and idiotic. Those are his only achievements in his adult life

Makingadecision · 30/10/2025 21:58

rurbane · 30/10/2025 19:11

Does this suggest he's guilty of worse behaviour than we're already aware of? I agree it should have happened long ago but am curious as to what's finally pushed Charles to do this.

I think this is a distinct possibility
Why now and quite quickly?

lifeonmars100 · 30/10/2025 21:57

I’ve come to realise that some people are so enamoured with the royal family they will defend anything and everything they do.

2010Aussie · 30/10/2025 21:59

daisychain01 · 30/10/2025 21:31

he was allowed to get away with behaving badly by both the Queen and Prince Philip.

you speak as if you have knowledge of Andrew's upbringing. How do you know how he behaved?

I know what he was like as a young man. He got away with a lot more than most of his contemporaries.

McSteamyorMcdreamy · 30/10/2025 21:59

BBC news 24 showing the Newsnight interview....I've only ever watched the reenactment programme with Billie Piper

I literally can't listen to it!!! Every muscle in my body is clenching in the most uncomfortable way possible!!!

NautilusLionfish · 30/10/2025 22:01

JacknDiane · 30/10/2025 21:52

Yes. On the Sandringham estate, funded by Charlie boy.

his is the problem with the structure and rules around royal family. Not much choice. The best outcome would have been a police investigation and new accommodations at HMP (not his Majesty's Palaces but one of the other Ps). The Monarch needs to be abolished or rules seriously reformed to allow for due process when these numbgnats abuse their positions

AInightingale · 30/10/2025 22:02

What exactly is wrong with the King? He really doesn't look well but then again he's a 76 yo man undergoing cancer treatment, flying round the world and dealing with umpteen family crises.

Bananaandmangosmoothie · 30/10/2025 22:02

RessicaJabbit · 30/10/2025 19:21

Will B and E lose theirs?

This is what I was wondering.

LBFseBrom · 30/10/2025 22:03

Imaginethatifyoucan · 30/10/2025 19:11

Let’s hope Harry is next

Why?

He has done nothing wrong, he's certainly no sex offender and voluntarily gave up being HRH.

Honestly, how can you compare the two, that is awful.
