It's a pragmatic move by KC. He knew the Andrew problem was only going to cause increasing harm to the royal family, in terms of public opinion and support. The cross-party, cross-country consensus of disgust was getting hard to ignore.

I'm glad for the message of support for victims of abuse, but I have a lingering sense of about bloody time.

MrsKateColumbo · 30/10/2025 21:18

Great news!

I hope it doesnt stop here and focus is now switched the current and former US presidents, that one will be harder though....

CalliopeFosterBeauchamp · 30/10/2025 21:18

Haven’t read the whole thread, but I read over the weekend that he’ll always be a prince because he’s the child of a monarch. So no longer Duke of York but still Prince Andrew.

bluegreygreen · 30/10/2025 21:19

MrsFinkelstein · 30/10/2025 20:05

Absolutely. Andrew is a vile, obnoxious man, but he's been a high profile scapegoat for a lot of wealthier, richer, more powerful, entitled men. Mainly Americans. Let's hear all about them now.

Yes, this, please

TacCat49 · 30/10/2025 21:19

Yippee. Yahoo. Finally. I am reading this news from New Zealand. I'm glad that this sleezy, bad mannered twirp is on his way out.
Disclaimer.
I deny that I posted this statement. Lol.

But it’s not been proven. Has it? I believe he’s guilty btw. But my understanding is that there’s been no conclusive evidence shared.

Is it that hard to believe that the royal family have enough reasonable doubt to believe that he did do it? And then there are still the emails him and Sarah sent Epstein after they told the press that they were no longer in contact with him. It builds a pretty poor picture and not someone that want to carry on defending.

Well that's now changed. He is losing the title Prince. Announcement earlier tonight from Buckingham Palace.

NConthe · 30/10/2025 20:46

It was the Queen and Prince Phillips favourite retreat and he lived there in the end. Private and away from prying eyes, beautiful countryside, roaring fires and all the shooting a man could want. And yes, on the Sandringham estate. Close to William and Kate and the kids awwww. Cosy

They must be laughing their heads off that the plebs believe they can’t stand uncle knobhead even though he’s being kept very close and in absolute luxury.

They're moving to Windsor though, aren't they? So will be well away from him.

Not any more. The palace announcement says he's losing his styles, titles and honours and is now Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

Ashersmom · 30/10/2025 21:22

Off you fuck. No one will miss him or his ex-wife.

You couldn’t help yourself, could you

Well the Queen kept Andy in the fold despite many nasty allegations and ridiculous interviews. Charles has done his best to ignore the whole thing. I’m just curious why now. Nothing new has been proven. Yes there is bad publicity because of the biography but the RF have tried their absolute best to sweep this all under the rug. What was the straw that broke the camel’s back? Why basically admit they think Andy the freak is guilty?

SarahJane03 · 30/10/2025 21:27

I wonder when he will pay back the £10m he 'borrowed off mum' to pay off Guffrie...

AInightingale · 30/10/2025 21:28

mumofsixfluffs · 30/10/2025 19:31

They should house him amongst commoners in a council house just so he really feels his fall. I’ve nothing against council houses and I don’t mean commoners as a slur but that is how he must view the general public thinking we are all stupid. Happy Christmas Andrew!!!

Where I live he'd never get peace, there would be a mob outside the door. The working classes have a low tolerance threshold for noncey men. Charles is basically kenneling him in an isolated house on a royal estate, there's little else he can do short of strapping him to a rocket and firing him off into deepspace.

BeeWitchy · 30/10/2025 21:29

AliceMaforethought · 30/10/2025 21:18

What children did Harry abuse? FFS.

At this point I’d be very surprised if they took Harry’s titles. Andrew’s scandals have been called the biggest threat to the monarchy since the abdication. They are once again in a very precarious position.

I doubt they’ll want to take Harry’s titles. Harry told a few tales on his family members in his book. It’s been done by other royals before him. It doesn’t equate to the Andrew situation.

Sky News reported that Sarah and Beatrice and Eugenie would not lose their titles. I wonder if sky mistakenly included Sarah? I thought they must have.

They're not going to do what they've done tonight - which I find truly shocking, but good - unless they know some damning shit which we don't yet know

No, they spend the holidays at Anmer Hall on Sandringham. They’ve never been very far from Andrew and seemingly that will continue.

Can’t be that pissed off with him.

Maybe KC is quite ill and preparing things for William amd Kate

He was born a prince. It's not a title that was handed to him like being Duke of York. Andrew's not very bright, he was the cosseted favourite son of Queen Elizabeth and he was allowed to get away with behaving badly by both the Queen and Prince Philip. But he's still a Prince. King Charles is probably responding to the baying crowds brandishing their pitchforks and winding themselves up for a witch hunt.

he was allowed to get away with behaving badly by both the Queen and Prince Philip.

you speak as if you have knowledge of Andrew's upbringing. How do you know how he behaved?

Indigovelvet · 30/10/2025 21:32

Good news! Where's he moving to though - another Royal property?

Which bit are you missing? Surely the recent emails are proof that he lied in his TV interview after he said he cut contact with Epstein and in the emails it showed he was supporting him after that. The emails have only recently come out after the Queens death. Maybe writing to a convicted sex offender in prison isn't illegal so why lie on national TV?

Janie143 · 30/10/2025 21:36

I hope prison is a possibility next.

cupfinalchaos · 30/10/2025 21:36

Isn’t Camilla patron of a charity for abused women? I can’t imagine she didn’t encourage this development.
