Did Princess Anne and Prince Edward decide that their children would not be known as Prince or Princess or is it because Anne is female and Edward was the youngest? Because surely if Beatrice and Eugenie are 'Princesses, why are the other 'children'?

Anne's children were not entitled to Prince/ess as they're through the female line, Edward and Sophie chose not to give the titles to their children but at 18 they could apply to have them as a right.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 30/10/2025 21:02

It will be kind of funny if he ever attends a family event that's also televised (wedding or funeral) to hear the commentators saying "here comes Princess Anne, The Duke of Edinburgh, Andrew and Prince Michael of Kent". It makes him sound like the butler or something!

AntiqueBooks · 30/10/2025 21:03

He's not been accused of being a PAEDOPHILE to my knowledge. That's someone who has sex with pre-pubescent children.

He's been accused of being a sex offender/rapist.

The Daily Mail is bad for that too - they always refer to "paedophile footballer Adam Johnson" (who had sex with a 15yr old girl). (Not excusing it, just pointing out that the terminology is incorrect).

I do find it surprising that the settlement with Virginia didn't include a long term gagging order.

Oh god no, don’t send him to Sandringham, I live a stone’s throw away, and have lovely neighbours. Often see William and Kate with their kids on the nearby beach, when I’m dog walking. They are always treated with privacy and respect. Don’t muddy our lovely waters with him…he’s an appalling person.

How often you really see Kate and the kids??

RitaIncognita · 30/10/2025 21:04

RhododendronFlowers · 30/10/2025 20:27

Yes, she did
.Plus, as pp have said, Edward was pretty much the same, but their kids have the courtesy titles of children of a Duke.

Anne did not refuse royal titles for her children. She and her husband effectively refused noble titles by Mark Philips refusing an earldom. The late Queen offered to do for Anne what she did for her sister Margaret. Margaret accepted (well technically her husband did) but Anne and Mark refused.

He was born a prince. It's not a title that was handed to him like being Duke of York. Andrew's not very bright, he was the cosseted favourite son of Queen Elizabeth and he was allowed to get away with behaving badly by both the Queen and Prince Philip. But he's still a Prince. King Charles is probably responding to the baying crowds brandishing their pitchforks and winding themselves up for a witch hunt.

"Titles deprivation act 1917"
So yes, he can and he is having his birth title removed

And let's be absolutely clear....no one is going to push this as far as its been pushed this evening, unless they know some appalling shit. We have no idea as yet. But it will come out, I expect

There isn't a witch hunt. Andrew Windsor is simply being made to pay for his lies, abuse and deceit

Spectre8 · 30/10/2025 21:05

There must be something worse to come out for this to have been done...time will tell

Kidsgotothatschool · 30/10/2025 21:05

@2010Aussie Your definition clearly says ‘holding views that are considered unorthodox or a threat to society’ what VIEWS does Andrew hold that are a threat to society?

Come on, just admit your definition does not work! And your use of the term ‘witch hunt’ is wrong!

Because he’s guilty?

Yes because they believe he is guilty.

Kahar · 30/10/2025 21:06

CurlewKate · 30/10/2025 20:56

Because he’s guilty?

But it’s not been proven. Has it? I believe he’s guilty btw. But my understanding is that there’s been no conclusive evidence shared.

Let’s hope Harry is next

What’s Harry’s crime? Marrying a black woman?

TheHouseonHauntedHill · 30/10/2025 21:07

I'm confused someone has sued VG estate ?

Probably because she didn’t do it for the money.

2010Aussie · 30/10/2025 20:51

Of course I know what the original witch hunts were all about but the phrase is now used generally

"A campaign directed against a person or group holding views considered unorthodox or a threat to society."

**

So having sex with non consenting trafficked teenage girl is "unorthodox".

AntiqueBooks · 30/10/2025 21:10

@nomas why did she settle at all then? I think if it were me I would have insisted on my day in court.

AntiqueBooks · 30/10/2025 21:10

BTW I'm not saying I don't believe her.

I really hope not. Epstein is dead, so what exactly do his victims want from all this? Do people really want all this raked over?

Yes. Yes, we do.

Thedom · 30/10/2025 21:13

This is from Wikipedia, I had never heard of this before but saw her being interviewed, she said she was awarded $7.5m just before VG died.

Trigger warning

“Rina Oh v. Virginia Giuffre (2021)
Rina Oh sued Giuffre for defamation in October 2021 in Manhattan federal court, for $20 million in damages.[103] The lawsuit referenced a series of tweets Giuffre made which accused Oh of helping traffic girls for Epstein, while Oh maintained she was a victim who had never helped traffickers.[103] Oh acknowledged that she introduced three young women to Epstein including Marijke Chartouni,[104] and that she had taken Giuffre shopping for a schoolgirl outfit on Epstein's orders.[105] In 2022 in court documents, Oh accused Giuffre of touching her sexually without consent while Epstein watched, but Giuffre denied the claim.[106] Giuffre filed a counterclaim in May 2022 alleging that Oh had cut her during sadomasochistic games done for Epstein.[107]”

I thought that Virginia might have refused being legally ‘gagged’ for more than the year. She’d just filed her case in civil court after a judge said she had grounds to bring her case. It was very soon after - next day maybe - that the settlement was reached. Virginia had bargaining power.

I wish Virginia Guiffre was a live to see this day. At least her brother and sister and her kids will know. Also the other Epstein victims.

Last week, the news was saying that a source claimed they agreed to leave if they were given a smaller private residence each.

I wonder what their idea of small is? A two-bedroomed terrace in Sidcup?

AntiqueBooks · 30/10/2025 21:16

I wonder then why they paid millions to avoid a court case if she was just going to write a book? Surely in some ways a court case would be better as she would be cross-examined by Andrew's lawyers?

AliceMaforethought · 30/10/2025 21:18

SoReadyFor · 30/10/2025 20:20

And yes let's do this for Harry too.

What children did Harry abuse? FFS.
