Continuing the on from the As ever thread

  • Funny article from Jan Moir

https://archive.ph/UfTPx

  • Turns out Chrissy wasn’t the only known bully that Meg invited onto the show. David Chang has serious anger issues and has bullied staff

https://www.standard.co.uk/culture/tvfilm/meghan-markle-s-shameless-pr-stunt-with-david-chang-is-disgusting-b1244549.html

  • Megs new show hasn’t appeared in the Top ten on NF in the UK or US, which she had done for the first series. NF aren’t promoting it other that in the ‘new this week’ section. You also have to scroll along to find it.
  • No stock sold out yet

Meghan Markle’s shameless PR stunt with David Chang is disgusting

The first episode of With Love, Meghan season two has a nasty jumpscare

Charles is a Head of State. I doubt he does Zoom calls with anyone. And given Harry and his wife's track record of blabbing about private conversations, communicating with them in a medium so easy to record would be a security risk.

I know! They would not want to risk that !

jeffgoldblum · 10/09/2025 18:18

It will be another brief encounter, he arrived at 5.20 and had another engagement at 6.

To be fair, doesn’t that that long to ask for more cash from Pa 💰

Why wouldn’t he do video calls with anyone/his son? Surely the fact he’s head of state means the security/tech would be available to make it possible.

eta - Harry and Meghan recording the calls. Surely that’s chance they’d all have to take for the sake of some kind of relationship and if it’s been happening already why haven’t we heard about it via the usual friends.

Obviously there's a way of doing secure video calls but it won't be over Zoom.

And as I said above, Harry and his wife have a track record of making private conversations public, and a video chat would be quite easy to secretly record. So it would be a security risk given that Charles is Head of State.

Bloodymigraines · 10/09/2025 18:43

I wonder how Invictus feels about his donation to CIN or Sentebale (he was still involved with them last December)

I said zoom because that’s all I know - which is why I then changed it into a more general ‘video calls’ in my next post.

recording the calls? Maybe the King doesn’t care. Maybe they keep the conversation very neutral and the children are central to it all just to keep them in safe territory when speaking. And maybe there’s the security/tech available to make recording calls difficult. And why is it the King who’s the only one who supposedly has the worry of calls being recorded - it could in fact work both ways.

elessar · 10/09/2025 19:30

I don’t think a ~30-45 minute meeting with KCIII is anything particular for Harry to boast about - it’s not as if they spent the day together or Harry stayed overnight with him which might be a more indicative sign of reconciliation. Less than an hour is very cursory, hardly time for a deep and meaningful conversation. It will be interesting to see if any details are made public by Harry’s camp in the coming days.

That's in what I consider 'brief catch up when you're pushed for time' territory, where meeting my friends or loved ones is concerned.

Weepixie · 10/09/2025 18:27

@JSMill often wonder if they have zoom calls with each other and if Charles will have a set time every week to speak to the children.

I think H and M would let us know if that happened, just to give the impression they are still close to the RF.

Probably because Charles is Head of State of 15 countries, while Harry is the unemployed husband of a small time influencer? I can easily see what Harry and his wife would have to gain from recording an interview with the King, but not the reverse.

There's also the fact that only one 'side' has a track record of divulging private family conversations.

This ⬆️
Charles is also unlikely to sell the information to a tabloid or appear on some chat show spilling the beans.

SuperTrooper1111 · 10/09/2025 20:02

Wow. You haven't seen your dad for 19 months and in that time he's undergone weekly treatment for cancer and you spend just 55 minutes with him? Presumably that included being ushered into Clarence House, taken to the room where the king was waiting, sitting down, making small talk about the traffic while servants poured the tea etc. No time left for a deep and meaningful! No wonder Harry looks a bit shellshocked in the pictures of him being driven away. Serves him right though - he's reaping what he sowed. He publicly trashed his father, his father's beloved wife, his brother, his sister-in-law and the institution of the monarchy. He's lucky the king gave him five minutes.

Absolutely. It's more time than I would have given him.

Butteredtoast55 · 10/09/2025 20:12

Did all the TV channels lead with this as breaking news, or just the one affiliated to the charity to whom Harry just made a huge donation?
I think that, at best, this is an 'in other news' story and Harry shouldn't be given the oxygen of publicity that he so craves.
Hopefully they had a nice cup of tea, KC saw some photos/a recorded message from his grandchildren and they made polite conversation. I hope we don't hear any further details from either side.

jamnpancakes · 10/09/2025 20:41

Harry is reaping what he sowed. A small crowd at a centre yesterday. Interest has waned dramatically.

SuperTrooper1111 · 10/09/2025 20:53

This is going to be Harry's conundrum. From an optics point of view, 55 mins does not look good, like the King barely gave him the time of day. So he must be itching to leak to media that it was still a nice get together despite the brevity. But if he leaks anything he's just confirming that he's still untrustworthy.

jamnpancakes · 10/09/2025 21:05

He didn't look too happy ...

Yeah, without the royal 'mystique' he isn't much, is he?

Also, royal men by themselves are pretty boring. It's the women people want to see.

That’s true actually. Hadn’t thought of that.

I hope, for the King's sake, that there was some benefit to him from the meeting.

I hope we don't hear any details, either directly or from 'sources'.

It’s good that William recognises this and doesn’t seem to have an issue with it. It would have been better for Charles if he had realised it was a positive for the RF rather than being jealous.

Yeah, royal women are the ones who pull a crowd, if only to see the fashions and the hair styles. A man in a suit just isn't that interesting!

Yet you still talk about him the most. Not even a thread on this board regarding the engagements W&K have been on. Interesting since there are always plenty of people saying how popular they are but noone feels the need to discuss what they do.

Weepixie · 11/09/2025 03:26

I prefer to think that a 15-minute video call, once a week—to perhaps have a laugh about what you’ve been up to, Pa; Harry’s latest surfing pictures; a birthday party the kids went to; or the next chapter of the book the King is reading to the children—wouldn’t have anything in it to raise eyebrows, even if it were recorded and sold to the press.

Or do people really think the Head of State of 15 countries, whose life is about small talk and diplomacy—being careful what he says—wouldn’t have it in him to keep such a video call on track.

Why are people assuming the video calls would be like walking in a minefield when the reality is there are so many ways to do estrangement, especially when young children are caught in the middle of it.

Weepixie · 11/09/2025 03:33

I just saw your post with the above. I agree with your thoughts on how it probably went and it’s in line with what I think any video calls between them are like.
