Continuing the on from the As ever thread

  • Funny article from Jan Moir

https://archive.ph/UfTPx

  • Turns out Chrissy wasn’t the only known bully that Meg invited onto the show. David Chang has serious anger issues and has bullied staff

https://www.standard.co.uk/culture/tvfilm/meghan-markle-s-shameless-pr-stunt-with-david-chang-is-disgusting-b1244549.html

  • Megs new show hasn’t appeared in the Top ten on NF in the UK or US, which she had done for the first series. NF aren’t promoting it other that in the ‘new this week’ section. You also have to scroll along to find it.
  • No stock sold out yet

Meghan Markle’s shameless PR stunt with David Chang is disgusting

The first episode of With Love, Meghan season two has a nasty jumpscare

I feel like all these endless stories about rejoining the RF, visiting blah blah are just to keep reminding everyone that they are royal. They have nothing else, they keep having to force that connection.
When they went to the US they thought they would be celebs, A listers in their own right, not happened, so now doubling down on the royal thing.

Not2identifying · 07/09/2025 11:46

I think it might be Harry attempting to manage his image. I think the loss of his popularity (something he apparently took for granted) has hit him harder than he would have thought.

Ohpleeeease · 07/09/2025 11:49

Invictus seems like a charity which has done excellent work but now needs to evolve into something more relevant. The same happened to Sentebale. Harry deserves credit for the work he did getting these charities going and keeping the funding coming in but charities do have a natural life span and they will die if they aren’t nurtured.

Maybe there's a link for you to buy it?

NotMeghanMarkle · 07/09/2025 12:36

I didn’t see it on her IG page.

Claiming you are afraid for your family, when your family lives in the US where guns are rife. Claiming you are afraid for your family, but quite happy to advertise where your child plays football. Claiming you are afraid for your family, but happy to put more and not photos of your family in the media.

Harry is either suffering from trauma which affects his ability to weigh risk, or security is how he measures status. Either way I'm not about to support anything above his existing arrangements.

Great post @MyAutumnalCrow.

Thank you.

I feel so angry about the costs that will fall on Birmingham. And they will. Long and hard.

JSMill · 07/09/2025 13:43

I don’t get why the city of Birmingham needs to shoulder the costs. It’s a great charity but that’s what it is, a charity, not a public body. When you have massive events like football finals or tournaments, don’t the organisers have to pay something towards the policing etc that is necessary for a big event. I don’t think any British city should be out of pocket as a result of hosting a charity event but it’s particularly infuriating when it’s Birmingham, given the crap the residents have been dealing with.

Mylovelygreendress · 07/09/2025 10:40

What would she do here ? The Wales family will not have anything to do with her and I cannot imagine the Tindalls or Edinburghs either . Who can forget the frosty looks Sophie shot at Meghan at the Queen’s funeral ?!
I cannot see any charities falling over themselves to be seen with her .
However I would pay good money to see Anne in action if they appear …..

Exactly the kind of things she does with invictus and what she did with Sentebale. Try to outshine Harry as he goes about his pathetic ‘uk charity tours’

Claiming you need security above that which experts have assessed, but being happy to order takeaway to a friend's address.

Claiming you need additional security, but recorded ringing strangers' doorbells.

Well Harry is on a drive with the media about wanting to bring his family here, about missing the UK, several reports in yesterdays newspapers from sources close to Harry.

He has gone from as recently as a few months ago telling the BBC he can’t see himself bringing his family back, and a few years ago about hating the UK and needing to take a ‘freedom flight’ for him and his family, to now pushing stories about how much he wants to visit with his family. I think Meghan knows she killed her golden goose, and Harry boy might just be realizing his hated British Royal family are in fact their ticket to some sort of recovery in the circles they need for credibility.

interesting comment in the times yesterday about Harry’s upcoming UK PR trip.

“ Harry’s itinerary, which will be covered by select media considered friendly towards the prince.

He is such a weak coward, how any charity can align themselves to him I just don’t know, Invictus should be ashamed of having some yellow belly like him as a Patron for truly brave vets, here is Harry scared of a bit of perceived criticism and manipulating freedom of the press constantly.

Edited

amen!

I like this jumper.

Looks like a bog standard crew neck jumper in a nondescript colour to me, unless I'm missing something? I'm sure you could get very similar on any High Street.

Weepixie · 07/09/2025 14:25

My view on the little twerp is that rather than take defeat on the chin and admit he was defeated in his security case, he prefers to have people thinking he’ll sneak around using his (imaginary) influence with people to keep his case going behind the scenes.

Someone needs to tell him it’s not a good look in the slightest.

From a previous career I know a fair bit about local government finance and I’m astonished that Birmingham ever considered hosting this, even before it became technically bankrupt (i.e. issued a section 114 notice).

There are statutory obligations around stadium safety, planning and licensing that all fall to the local authority (‘the Council’). Private funding to cover all these costs will be essential - but there are no guarantees at all. Just a hope and a boast. So the Council will be forced to pay by default.

The government’s ’delivery envelope’ grant of £23m that Johnny Mercer was so proud of is just a dribble in the wind. He’s not even an MP any more.

And if there are protests requiring policing - again, who’s actually got the budget for that? I think we should be told …

KatherineParr · 07/09/2025 14:43

Could Birmingham back out of hosting Invictus or has it gone too far for that? Really not sure how they can finance it.

Just Google burgundy jumper. I've no idea where she gets hers from.

I think the Section 114 Commissioners can demand a final financial report fairly soon from Invictus within (say) 28 days and make a decision as to the credibility of the supposed financial commitments of the private sector, along with realistic projected 2027 outgoings.

If any part of the resulting assessment is suggestive of a new financial commitment from Birmingham Council - no matter how small - then I believe that legally the Section 114 Commissioners would be required to pull the plug.

I wonder if that’s why it’s all gone quite quiet on the Invictus front.

Harry will blame his father’s government like he always does.

Princess Anne has managed just fine.
I think you've got to have intelligence, though, to understand your role and how to make it a positive one.

She carved an identity for herself out side of the RF. She’s a name and a huge success in her own right. Future spares could learn a lot from her.

Indeed. She has supported the monarchy effectively and represented the UK.
She's also had a career as a world class equestrian. When her mother became Queen, she was 2nd in line. She's gradually gone down the line of succession.
No moaning, no complaints, no victimhood. Just gets on with it.

JSMill · 07/09/2025 15:35

My df is a raging republican and can be quite rude about the RF. Through his work in local government, he met Charles, Phillip and Anne. He had no time for C or P (said they didn’t have a f&”king clue) but Anne completely won him over. It was at a charity for deaf-blind children and he said she was absolutely brilliant with them. He still has the framed photo of him meeting her on the fireplace. She must have some charm to win over my grumpy father!

Not2identifying · 07/09/2025 16:02

Anne is the only royal I've seen in person. She was very efficient, meeting all sorts of groups of people, some of whom were nervous about meeting her. It was just a bog standard engagement for her but it was what turned me into a 'royal watcher' - there really was something different about meeting the Queen's daughter and have her acknowledge this local milestone achievement.

It’s Sezane.

And if you're worried about security you make sure people don't give out your itinerary in advance ...
