Continuing the on from the As ever thread

  • Funny article from Jan Moir

https://archive.ph/UfTPx

  • Turns out Chrissy wasn’t the only known bully that Meg invited onto the show. David Chang has serious anger issues and has bullied staff

https://www.standard.co.uk/culture/tvfilm/meghan-markle-s-shameless-pr-stunt-with-david-chang-is-disgusting-b1244549.html

  • Megs new show hasn’t appeared in the Top ten on NF in the UK or US, which she had done for the first series. NF aren’t promoting it other that in the ‘new this week’ section. You also have to scroll along to find it.
  • No stock sold out yet

Meghan Markle’s shameless PR stunt with David Chang is disgusting

The first episode of With Love, Meghan season two has a nasty jumpscare

She is a super famous in demand celebrity in her own head

AtIusvue · 31/08/2025 15:11

Not sure but she hasn’t placed in the Top Ten in any country since the launch.

Last time she very briefly made number 5 in the US top tv shows before falling out the charts.

NF also seem to be making no effort to promote the show, unlike with Part One. I think they know they've got a dud on their hands and are just offloading it with minimum fuss.

I also don't believe that NF really care about 'As Ever'. I suspect their involvement is very minor.

Phase42 · 31/08/2025 17:31

Re her and "H" and friends eating out all the time without it being an issue and her not being able to go grocery shopping - I wonder if this is because she eats in expensive places but thinks the 'great unwashed' are in the supermarket?

Every time I get off the tube at High Street Kensington and walk past that Wholefoods, I have a little chuckle to myself. Last time I was there, I shared a carriage with Angela Rippon. I did the exact thing Emily Blunt describes - the quick double take. She was very smart and looked fabulous for a woman in her 80s.

Isn’t that when she chose to wear Hunter wellington boots - as she assumed this was standard British Astro attire - on Kensington High St !!!

Weepixie · 31/08/2025 17:48

I still laugh at the Wellie boots.

Then there’s this to add to the fun.

*aristo!!

Also the story earlier that she had a meltdown about the Arm & Hammer baking powder because it was triggering of her traumatic childhood where they never had ‘brands’ - makes no sense. She was an only child of an award winning Hollywood Lighting Director who worked on the same shows for decades AND he won the lottery.

It was a no-cost schedule filler for NF as they had filmed series 2 at the same time as series 1.

Allegedly there is a Christmas special as well - will the next drop be high UPF-gingerbread mix?

I can understand it for some things. I am picky about toothpaste since my mother damaged my teeth growing up - buying unbranded crap from market stalls (she loved a bargain) some of which contained sugar! Although come to think of it my current favourite is from Lidl.

However baking powder? Not like you can taste the difference. I think it must be a status thing that she dreams to be Nigella-like with all of those tiny, traditional tins on her shelves. Part of her need to control and live in an Instagram-perfect bubble.

FleurDeFleur · 31/08/2025 18:18

Come on, now. Meghan did not grow up in poverty, or even moderate hardship.
That's just such a silly lie.

Has Doria been seen in series 2 (not prepared to add to viewing figures) - wonder if she will turn up in the ‘Holiday Special’ later in the year. Odd if she doesn’t. This was all filmed 18 months ago and we haven’t seen hide nor hair since 👀

ExitPursuedByABare · 31/08/2025 18:47

Catherine also shopped in Tesco in Holyhead. To be fair that was probably before Waitrose opened.

A horse and carriage?!

ExitPursuedByBearGrylls · 31/08/2025 20:00

I remember Daniel Craig saying he went out and about no problem, at the peak of his time as Bond. And at the same time would be recognised in some remote country with barely any access to media, that’s how much Bond was known about worldwide.

Meghan: I can’t go out because of the paparazzi
Also Meghan: I’ve hired a paparazzi to photograph me out and about

Butteredtoast55 · 31/08/2025 20:07

I suspect she can eat out with H on date night because they're at a swanky celebrity restaurant whereas grocery shopping means contact with the plebs.

Mylovelygreendress · 31/08/2025 20:14

The Queen was wandering around Ballater a couple of weeks ago with minimum security and I have seen Lady Louise in St Andrews with friends . Lord Linley used to cycle to work in London .,
if you are in need of a laugh can I suggest you follow MissBouche on X - brilliant Meghan sketches .

A tube carriage - I'm not that posh!

Angela Rippon was using her over 60s free travel pass.

Date Night ??? She is too busy for such frivolities !
I am currently in a Spanish pub watching tennis - does that count as a date night ?

Butteredtoast55 · 31/08/2025 20:28

@Mylovelygreendress the phrase 'date night' actually makes me cringe!! But in the Bloomberg interview, Meghan talks about how it's so important to have those dates nights with H.

Mylovelygreendress · 31/08/2025 20:47

Me too @Butteredtoast55. DH and I have never had a “ date night “ and have somehow survived 35+ years !

FleurDeFleur · 31/08/2025 21:02

You don't need to date when you're married.

There was definitely a bit of an atmosphere between Meghan and Doria in season 1 and I was surprised she wasn't edited out - firstly Doria didn't really like a recipe that Meghan had "created" and struggled to say something nice about it. Then she was barely acknowledged at the season finale party.

You don't need to date when you're married.

Date night is a bit teenage Jackie magazine ca 1978.

Or the sort of thing you see on US relationship shows (Oprah, Dr Phil etc) when your marriage is in trouble because your work schedules mean you never see each other but not really a thing for a couple with flexible careers, nannies and domestic staff.

I think it's another example of Meghan attempting to perform "normality" and "relatability" on her show whereas really it reveals that she's out of touch.

I don’t know, I’m always hearing it . I find it very very irritating and agree with you. If you’re married you don’t need ‘date nights’. You aren’t dating.

She’s moved out now too, so things seem to have become strained. Also I don’t think Doria does performative.
