There have been rumours about a 30th anniversary documentary for some time but it is now looking more likely according to this report.
Seriously , what else is there to say about the woman ?
It seems so distasteful that H is - again- using his late mother to make money .
Any reconciliation with the RF will be stopped in its tracks if this goes ahead .

Harry and Meghan 'line up Princess Diana doc' in new Netflix deal

The streaming giant is understood to be in discussions with the couple about the programme which would mark 30 years since Diana's death in a car crash in 1997.

The must be in deep shit financially. But really, what other cards do they hold?

PW will be spitting chips about his mum being used this way.

MrsLeonFarrell · 23/08/2025 08:21

What else can they do as this point? The public have shown the they are only watch in large numbers if Harry and Meghan talk about the Royal family. Diana is the next logical step.

Unless he is being consulted, I can't see this helping Harry's relationship with William. I fully expect Harry to continue being publically baffled as to why his family won't talk to him though. He has the emotional intelligence of furniture.

Indeed but what else is there to say ? Diana’s tragically short ) life has been discussed over and over , films and books have been published . There have been conspiracy theories debunked in court.
Harry was only 13 when she died so I am struggling to think of anything new that he could say .

Just when you think the ginger whinger can sink no lower.

I truly detest this manchild after his comment about his father’s health.

I have stage 4 cancer.

If anyone I knew let alone a son publicly speculated on how much time I have left like that I would be devastated.

Stupid, self obsessed nasty little twerp.

I very much hope Prince William never speaks to him again and does all in his power to give his brother the consequences he so richly deserves.

It doesn't have to be be information for people to watch. The novelty will be Harry's involvement. Isn't he on record as saying he has few memories of his mother? Bet that fact doesn't get a look in.

OccasionalHope · 23/08/2025 08:35

It’s going to be a hagiography obviously.

Distasteful to do a documentary about his own mother?? Your comments however are incredibly distasteful, along the lines of 'this has been done to death, what else could he could possibly have to say seeing as he was 13 when she died'.

Unbelievable!

FairKoala · 23/08/2025 09:03

Surely it won’t take 2 years to make

3peassuit · 23/08/2025 09:26

I don’t think there’s anything else left to say about Diana. There have been endless articles, documentaries and books about her. Harry has said himself that he has little memory of his mother. Time to let her go.

StMarie4me · 23/08/2025 09:29

Daily Mail. Says it all.

Briantheguitargod · 23/08/2025 09:35

you don't have to watch it you know.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 23/08/2025 10:00

He has no shame. For someone who harps on about privacy, he's happy to make money from invading everyone else's, including that of his late mother, assuming the whole USP will be Harry revealing stuff about her that isn't in the public domain. What a horrible, horrible individual he is.

LastKnownSurvivor · 23/08/2025 10:04

I honestly don't see how it could tell us anything new. I expect, though, that this will be far from the only 30th anniversary TV 'event' come August 2027!

LastKnownSurvivor · 23/08/2025 10:05

Meghan looks like she's seen Diana's ghost in that picture!😆

SpottyCheeseEater · 23/08/2025 10:07

So bored of hearing about her, let the woman rest in peace already. Harry is such a cheap, low class prince.

Ladedahlia · 23/08/2025 10:08

I have utter contempt for Harry now. . He really can’t sink any lower.

I’m very sorry to hear that and wish you well. I completely agree with every word of your comment, he’s a nasty little twerp.

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 23/08/2025 10:11

Harry pimping out his dead mum’s memory to keep himself relevant and the £ rolling in is distasteful to say the least.

Harry has been feeding stuff to the DM for quite a while .

i won’t but the idea that H would even think about doing this for $$$ is awful but not surprising.

I'm no defender of the wretched Mail, but believe it came from the Sun originally and they're just repeating it

It's true that it's hard to see what else H&M have got to make money out of, but I'm not about to get excited over what rags like this may or may not have made up for clickbait

And while a no-holds-barred expose would be inappropriate for this anniversary, a trot through the usual clips and a soppy hagiography will be tedious and anodyne.

Diana was much-criticised in the press before her tragic death, then almost canonised as a result of it and since then we’ve learned that she was (like most people) a complex, troubled and often not very nice person. I don’t want to see a cruel expose of her character- we don’t need it - but I really don’t want to waste time on a sentimental, soft focus documentary either.

And the idea of doing this without William’s input is ridiculous. I guess William, who was older and whom Diana involved in her various love affairs, may have a different perspective and probably just wants his mother, with her faults and strengths, to be allowed to rest in peace.

CathyorClaire · 23/08/2025 11:04

I wonder what audience he's aiming for?

Oldies have seen it all rehashed over and over for decades and I can't see a younger demographic being on the edge of their seats while any previously unknown snippet will be pored over endlessly in the press.

Who does he think is going to sit through it?

This is the problem with deep, unhealed grief. The person grieving can't understand how or why other people move on. I worry that you are correct in your assessment of how this would be received and if you are correct this will make Harry even more angry and disregulated than he is.
