Netflix deal is over

  • Both decided a statement won’t be released “Publicly, there will not be a statement and of course, if things change dramatically, they’d be open to a one-off project down the line.”
  • Talk about Paramount plus

It’s been pretty obvious for a while. No talk about the Archewell productions arm, the film they were making etc.

How long can As ever last when they won’t have NF to back it up with WLM infomercials.

Big Ted is still on good terms with Meghan seemingly.

So there won’t be a season 2?

AtIusvue · 22/07/2025 22:58

Think season 2 will still be released as it’s already been filmed, but nothing after that.

No season 2. Meghan is very infuriating, I imagine. She persists in posting on IG shots of As Ever products that have sold out. She's bonkers.

Catpolitics · 22/07/2025 23:00

Agree she’s bonkers! Not sure why but I tight she was making a second series but unsure where that info was from! So now it would be of another production company take it over?

AtIusvue · 22/07/2025 23:01

Also makes sense with the huge cull of staff they’ve had recently. NF money will be hard to lose.

Season 2 has already been made and is really just episodes of season 1 that haven't yet been released. Late Summer has been mentioned but not confirmed.

Viviennemary · 22/07/2025 23:46

A lot of you tubers have made videos mocking this totally cringey idiotic series. How it ever got passed as any kind of serious lifestyle programme is a mystery.

pilates · 23/07/2025 05:47

No surprise there

Thedom · 23/07/2025 08:19

I guess that explains the 'reconciliation' meeting and what was really behind it.

I don't believe for a second, its because Netflix didn't want to play 2nd fiddle to her brand, which by all accounts, already looks dead in the water, Aren't Netflix supposed to be her partner in that business, the ones sourcing and distributing the products, her 'brand' is built on the back of the Netflix show.

If you look at the Asever instagram page, the followers are abysmal, around 800k for a brand attached to a Netflix show (even if it was a poorly received show) and the amount of coverage that business generated was insane and yet it has gone nowhere.

Galdownunder · 23/07/2025 08:36

God what a monumental flop. I do think this is on Netflix for giving money away to untested talent.

AtIusvue · 23/07/2025 08:50

I mean, it’s pretty clever by NF. They don’t have to renew the deal but it’s obvious that any tv work etc- Meg n Harrywould turn to NF first.

She revealed herself to be very naive when on Emma Gredes podcast- that she said she’s formed friendships with NF and that’s how As ever came about.

Her partnership is with NF for As ever…:they are effectively running things. She can hardly run to Apple TV for a deal when in business with NF.

She also can’t see, NF partnering with her fandom business was a ‘look squirrel’ technique to get past the production deal coming to an end.

I can’t see As ever lasting more than 18 months.
NF and Meg have been honest that this is a new thing for NF etc and they are flying the plane while building. I think this is NF experimenting and getting the data. It’s not a long term thing.

I think over the next 18months there will be various drops but like everything else…will just stop and nothing more will be said.

Just like 40x40, the NF deal and her shopmy page. Never to be spoke of again.

Neither of them have talent, ability, or self awareness.
All they had to sell was the fact that they're royal, and they were prepared to trade on that, yet trash the connection.
That's not a long term plan.
The series was terrible, it wasn't a long time earner.

Thedom · 23/07/2025 08:59

It was very telling that Netflix wanted her to have a different name for the brand and the show, which I suspect was so they could cut ties without sinking her business should either of them not work out, as it turns out neither of them worked out.

Will be interesting to see what her clapback will be to this disclosure.

StrawberryWasp · 23/07/2025 09:07

Making a podcast series about being a female founder now looks more embarrassing than ever.

Maybe she should have focused on establishing a successful business before trying to make being a Business Women her brand?

I see on other thread that she's investing in start ups. This seems like a good idea, I hope it's successful for her so they can live quietly and be rich.
But I suspect that's not what she wants...

User9784754 · 23/07/2025 09:13

What jumped out most is that Harry's Polo documentary was only watched by 500K people over 6 months. That's utterly abysmal. There are Youtubers making videos from their bedrooms on zero budget that get far more views than whatever millions were sunk into H&M. As Ever only had 5.3million views which isn't much considering the marketing that went into it.

The moral of the story seems to be that H&M manage to grift opportunities solely because of their status, leading to a monumental waste of money and resources for projects that nobody gives a fuck about. Considering all the things going on in the world right now, nobody wants to watch documentaries about playing polo or luxury dinner parties. Harry was essentially gifted millions to make a documentary on his personal hobby that no average Netflix viewer is remotely interested in.

Meanwhile there are genuinely talented creatives and filmmakers who have the potential to create documentaries that are important and fascinating but will never get the funding to do so.

Absolutely, and it just confirmed the level of her arrogance and how conceited she is, ultimately most of the episodes were about the woes of the poor working billionaire moms and a faux love fest between host and guest.

I'm genuinely surprised As Ever didn’t even crack the top 100—let alone the top 300—given how heavily Netflix promoted it. It dominated my homepage for weeks.

As for Harry, the low numbers don’t shock me, but still... 500,000 viewers in six months? That’s just embarrassing

CathyorClaire · 23/07/2025 10:32

I think they were lucky initially in scoring a deal just as Covid hit and NF were riding the lockdown wave but apart from the documentary their proposed projects were pretty much turkeys in the making from the start.

Pearl sounded like an cure for insomnia and the Leadership thing had already been made and shelved when they dusted it off (wasn't there some controversy too with figures in it distancing themselves from it?) The Invictus documentary was another worthy but dull offering.

Their problem was that earnest sermonising was never going to sell.

From what I understand, Season 2 is really just Part 2 of Season 1—similar to how Twilight, Harry Potter, and Squid Game split their final installments into two parts for some reason.

Part 2 is expected to drop late summer, possibly to line up with a new seasonal range launch? But it was all filmed at the same time as the first installment.

So many opportunities squandered. What next, I wonder..

workshy46 · 23/07/2025 10:41

People are still interested in her .. she creates column inches .. him not so much anymore. He’s really become the spare now poor chap. I can’t see her staying beyond another five years .. she will move onto a tech bro or movie mogul as he won’t be able to provide the lifestyle she wants. They simply have no more secrets to sell and really the brand is last chance saloon but that’s all her.. she’s the one earning now and the only one with potential to earn

tramtracks · 23/07/2025 10:42

JSMill · 23/07/2025 10:44

I don’t think anyone should really be surprised. NF only gave them a deal so they could get them to dish some dirt on the RF but they didn’t even really deliver on that, did they?! The series was just a whine fest. Surely this is the end of the road for them in producing anything. Despite huge publicity, M’s series flopped. She has no talent and people don’t like her.
