Netflix deal is over

  • Both decided a statement won’t be released “Publicly, there will not be a statement and of course, if things change dramatically, they’d be open to a one-off project down the line.”
  • Talk about Paramount plus

It’s been pretty obvious for a while. No talk about the Archewell productions arm, the film they were making etc.

How long can As ever last when they won’t have NF to back it up with WLM infomercials.

I remember when C left BP the day after her wedding, she wore a Zara dress. Meanwhile when M was offered the role in Suits, she apparently had a ‘goodbye to Zara’ party where she gave away her high street clothes. (I don’t know what the equivalent of high street label is in the US!)

Her first year was amazingly expensive, even allowing for price rises. When Catherine first started as a working royal a lot of her outfits were from the high street, albeit tailored to fit.

I remember reading that eyebrows were raised in the Duchy offices when the bills started arriving for Meghan’s wardrobe. Not just the astronomical cost but the fact that she was shunning British designers Wonder how much Charles paid out in total ?

We'll never know, mylovelygreendress, but I do sometimes wonder what she's done with it all, remembering that hardly any of it's been seen since

Perhaps it's all in storage against the day she might want to do a Diana-style auction (whch would also explain the choice of ultra expensive couture from the highest profile designers)?

The cost was eye-watering, even for royals, and I think Charles had words with H once he realised that the p. was being taken.

Mind you, I don’t think anyone will ever buy that green goblin outfit- it was truly vile, especially when she’d been asked to wear red, white or blue.

BasiliskStare · 01/08/2025 20:04

Thanks for that article @AtIusvue - and isn't it what @GiveMeSpanakopita (a PR person) said she would advise a client.

I know they have their supporters and fans. But M and increasingly H just don't come across as likeable or credible with a great many. (My opinion - but look at their popularity in UK according to polls - just above PA - & I have never been polled so I admit I don't know the credibility of those polls) Now I suspect M won't give a hoot about her popularity in the UK - she's aiming for the US market. H probably cares more but hasn't quite cottoned on to how his popularity has plummeted ( cf BBC interview after RAVEC case. )

But it must be hard to try to trade off your name and indeed your title / status etc (which her case she married into in his he stepped away and both of them egregiously criticised the RF) if you just aren't thought warmly of by the general public. & they don't seem to be. Or indeed as @My2cents1975 has explained ( which did not previously realise ) in the US they are just struggling for airtime and no-one really notices them in the grand scheme of things.

There’s a new book out about Andrew- basically he is even worse than we all thought he was and the bar was pretty low. Honestly, he is so vile.

There’s excerpts of the book in the DM.

There’s this little titbit about Andrew telling Harry the truth about Megs - saying their marriage wouldn’t last a month, she’s too old and has a suspect past! Yikes!

I mean Andrew is the absolute worst….but even he could see Harry was getting played.

‘In January 2021 the Royal Family held a summit about Andrew at which it was agreed there was no way back for him because of the reputational damage he was causing the monarchy and his ‘ungracious and ungrateful’ attitude. Andrew’s relationship with his nephews was also a problem.
At a family gathering in 2013, Harry and Andrew had got into a heated argument, and punches were thrown over something Andrew said behind Harry’s back. According to a source close to both men, Harry told him he was a coward not to say it to his face.
Harry got the better of Andrew by all accounts, leaving him with a bloody nose before the fight was broken up.

Later Andrew told Harry his marriage to Meghan Markle would not last more than a month and accused his nephew of going ‘bonkers’ and not doing any due diligence into her past. He openly accused Meghan of being an opportunist and thought she was too old for Harry, adding that his nephew was making the biggest mistake ever.

The source said: ‘Harry later told William he hated Andrew.’
According to the same source, the duke’s relationship with William is not much better. There have been tensions between the two men for years, partly occasioned by Andrew being rude about Kate. William refers to Andy as a ‘tr’, perhaps not as bad as the vile names his brother Harry uses. Harry has referred to Andy as a ‘pooftah’, an ‘a-h’ and a ‘twit'.
William has long worked behind the scenes to evict his uncle from Royal Lodge, the home he occupies in Windsor Great Park. He thinks Andrew is abusing the property and his privilege there, the source says. ‘He also loathes Sarah, Andrew’s ex-wife, and can’t wait for the day when his father throws them both out. If Charles doesn’t, I guarantee you the first thing William does when he eventually becomes king is to get them evicted.’

Andrew - his royal oafishness: Exposed in book Royals tried to ban

Jeffrey Epstein , the most notorious fornicator of our era, said of Prince Andrew - younger brother of the King and at one point second in line to the throne - 'We are both serial sex addicts'

I mean if Andrew said it to Harry’s face- that she was an opportunist, too old etc …then obviously the whole family must have had her number.

We knew William did what he could to get Harry to the light, but looks like others told him too.

Not that anyone would listen to Andrew suppose. The man is a cretin.

Andrew tried to get the book banned seemingly, which makes it all the more an enjoyable read 😂

It's odd that Eugenie stayed so close to Harry if he hated her father so much?

So much tension in that family!!

Anyone seen that Jessica Mulroney is saying she regrets her friendship with M?
Such a terrible thing to not stand by a close friend who was being destroyed publicly in the way Jessica was. I can imagine she's pretty traumatised by the way her life was undone and the unexpected betrayal of people she thought would stand by her. Must have been devastating.

DelectableMe · 02/08/2025 06:38

Yes, @StrawberryWasp , there's a complicated relationship there. Harry was always close to the York family, and Meghan said that she knew Eugenie before she knew Harry. I think the Sussexes and the Yorks have always been good friends. Something in that book doesn't ring true.

Amidst all the Andrew horror I feel sorry for his daughters. Their mother has also been a huge embarrassment in the past - it must be hard for them to have such unpopular parents. I’m not saying Fergie has committed any hanging offences but she’s been such an obvious exploiter of her royal connection and a cheeky freeloader.

I think she's ghastly! Such a freeloader and such an embarrassment. Eugenie in particular has always been very friendly with Harry and Meghan. Yet both York sisters are very friendly with Piers Morgan.
I think they run with the hares and hunt with the hounds, as the expression goes.

MummyJ12 · 02/08/2025 07:55

Andrew is an insufferable arse. Shocker! I don’t need to pay my hard earned money for a book that is about someone who I would prefer didn’t exist. 😂 But I’m all for Andrew being exposed for the horrible person he is so I hope the book sells well.
It also doesn’t show Harry in a good light, the homophonic slur (his mum would be so disappointed) and the violence, which is obviously ok as long as it’s Harry dishing it out (typical) giving people busted noses and just not ok when Harry ends up in a dog bowl!
There have been rumours about Andrew knowing Meghan before she met Harry when they both were hanging out in the same places in the same social circle. Of course, it suits them both perfectly to pretend they hadn’t met before!

DelectableMe · 02/08/2025 07:59

@MummyJ12 excellent points. Andrew is an oaf, (and probably worse!).and I doubt very much whether anyone reasonable would defend him. Harry's response is interesting. The York family were front and centre at H&M's wedding. Fergie taught Meghan how to curtsey, she and Harry were on their way to Royal Lodge. So there's a close friendship there, and I'm confused by the timeline. All very odd.

Lushvegetation · 02/08/2025 08:10

It’s always been pretty clear that Andrew doesn’t get on with his nephews. I don’t think Beatrice is particularly close to W and H but Eugenie certainly seemed to be close to Harry before she was photographed with Piers Morgan . I don’t think they really speak now.

Fergie denied she taught M to curtsy so looks like M was being ‘creative’ with the truth again.

But didn’t Harry tear a strip off Eugenie after she was spotted with Piers Morgan a few months ago ? PM himself said as much on X and there were stories elsewhere.
Wondering about Portugal ? I had doubts about H and M buying a place there but have read nothing further . Think it’s too near the U.K. for Megsy !

Harry must have known that Piers Morgan is a long term friend of the Yorks. Eugenie embracing Piers outside the restaurant couldn't have come as a surprise. I don't know what's going on here, but it's clearly not straightforward.

Possibly, or is she like the most lovely Christopher Foyle , Michael Kitchen , in Foyle's War , when his driver Sam says to him , "Gosh sir I didn't think you could drive" and he replies - "I know how to drive , I just choose not to" .

Very interesting! , but makes the absence of criticism about Andrew by Harry all the more bizarre!!!
