It's not good news for Meghan. The podcast by Meghan is out of the Spotify 100 in the US and the UK. With Apple it's not even in the top 200 chart.

I do get your point, and they do look like idiots using HRH in the US. It's the betrayal of and contempt for Harry's grandmother's wishes that gets to me, as well as Meghan "72 engagements" Markle using a title reserved for those who actually serve the UK and its interests.

I do understand that view point. But I believe that removing them will produce more negative press than letting them keep using them when everyone knows it's against the late Queen's wishes

I agree. I don’t think them just using them on stationery or gift cards is really doing any harm and is rather making them just look a bit desperate and petty. I’m sure there is lots of eye rolling going on at the Palace, but nothing more 🤷‍♀️

Not2identifying · 01/05/2025 19:02

Beatrice and Eugenie are both HRH despite never officially working for the RF.

Not2identifying · 01/05/2025 19:02

Beatrice and Eugenie are both HRH despite never officially working for the RF.

And it doesn't seem to cause any problems. I suspect that HRH was removed from the Sussexes for the same reason Diana and Sarah lost it, to make clear they are no longer working royals.

Profhilodisaster · 01/05/2025 19:04

I agree that the RF should do nothing. If you look at all the negative press M&H are getting about the titles , they're digging their own grave. They have actually said that they don't use the titles at all so it will be interesting to see if any more photos of her compliment slips show up.

RandyRedHumpback · 01/05/2025 19:06

I don't think the RF will do anything about it. However, I think whatever public opprobrium is happening now will bounce off H&M. They simply don't have the moral compass to feel shame.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 01/05/2025 19:34

RandyRedHumpback · 01/05/2025 18:22

Spare me. "Wearing a hat and looking like a school Ma'am". Words meant to belittle a highly trained professional.

I'm happy to be a card carrying member of the William and Catherine fan club. Because they are not arseholes.

Me too.

BasiliskStare · 01/05/2025 19:47

I do agree @RandyRedHumpback that the opprobrium will bounce off them.

I do think they are sailing very very close to wind in using the titles for commercial gain.

But I also think 7 years is a speck in the eye to the Monarchy. They are nothing if not good at playing the long game. & if you look at M&H's popularity ratings , it would seem the " ignore , ignore , ignore " is somewhat working. They are both pretty unpopular in the UK ( according to polls I have seen.) It would seem their popularity in the US is somewhat waning. They will never go away but I know I say it again and again - the titles are pretty meaningless if you aren't doing a job for the RF. So Ruritanian , irrelevant , whatever. I think they are almost in "curiosity" territory. But what do I know .

I once did a pilates class with an Austrian Princess - did she ever use it - no - her family have castles and lots of things - but she used to say - It's nothing - just my father had these things but I live in a terraced house - who cares. (It was quite a big terraced house compared to mine but she knew European titles are legion. & I think that is the way Harry is going )

Lunde · 01/05/2025 19:47

Mylovelygreendress · 01/05/2025 15:39

Why does she lie so much ? She MUST know that she will be found out ?

It's like Judge Judy used to say - "if you tell the truth - you don't need a good memory"

Problem is that Meghan can no longer keep track of the lies

interesting !
and if true very shocking!

I bloody knew it. They’re not just utterly shameless, they’re the most pretentious and self important pair of arseholes I’ve ever come across.

As if she’s telling people they can address her as Princess Meghan !

And it doesn't seem to cause any problems. I suspect that HRH was removed from the Sussexes for the same reason Diana and Sarah lost it, to make clear they are no longer working royals.

The massive difference between Diana and Meghan’s situations is that by the time the HRH was removed, Diana was a global icon and had no need of a title to give her status or command respect. Diana could simply sign a card ‘Diana x’ and it was enough. M clings onto the title it is all she has. However, their behaviour has meant their titles aren’t respected. M could call herself Princess Meghan but few people would buy it. I also think the titles will be meaningless for their children too as everyone knows they weren’t brought up in royal circles and have no connection to their royal relatives.

CodandChipz · 01/05/2025 21:08

I agree the HRH thing and calling them sir/ma’am (if true) is just increasingly naff and embarrassing. I do worry about the long term damage on their children.
I wonder if Harry will look at his basically non-royal children, with meaningless titles, who might end up as nepo celebs, and wonder if it was worth it. There’s years of embarrassment ahead. And if they inherit personality traits from their parents it’s going to be a rough ride ahead.

If they inherit the common sense of Great Aunt Anne they’ll likely rebel & get out of the bubble.

Yes i agree with their different statuses post royal life. Diana had also been a working royal for far longer than Meghan. I was speculating that the reason behind removing HRH was to make it clear that the individual was no longer a working royal. It's not an issue with the York sisters because it has always been clear they aren't working royals.

I could be completely wrong though.

CathyorClaire · 01/05/2025 21:19

I can't keep up with their doings.😅🙃😐

Am I to surmise 'This one' has been supplanted by 'That man'?

Perhaps 'H' stands for 'im indoors.

Shineyorange · 01/05/2025 21:25

I think William will issue Letters Patent when he becomes King, limiting HRH and Prince /Princess titles to children of the monarch and children of the Heir.

And he’ll apply it retrospectively so it will remove Royal titles from Beatrice and Eugenie, and Louise and James (who technically are Prince and Princess but don’t use the titles as they have sensible parents ) along with Archie and Lili.

And I actually think B and E will handle it graciously, which will contrast to the inevitable meltdown from Montecito

CathyorClaire · 01/05/2025 21:38

The massive difference between Diana and Meghan’s situations is that by the time the HRH was removed, Diana was a global icon and had no need of a title to give her status or command respect.

Diana very quickly went on to trash her rep though not least in partying with dubious playboy Dodi. British public were pretty fed up with the Eurotrash style gallivanting at the time she died.

Can't see the vacillating C pulling titles from his darling boy. He doesn't have the (sometimes misguided) resolution of his mother.

BasiliskStare · 01/05/2025 21:51

@CathyorClaire I do agree with you But Oh perhaps the kindly & guiding hand of Camilla. I know she will Never Be Diana - and good for her I say. Perhaps she could persuade Fred to sort out the petulant child so that W does not need to .

That’s true. We can only speculate what would have happened to her image if events had turned out differently. However that is a distraction from the point I was making: Diana didn’t need a title, Meghan has to cling onto hers.

ScarlettOYara · 01/05/2025 22:27

What are Meghan and Harry without royal titles, though? Nothing.
They desperately need to keep them, and for the children as well.

Yes, I agree. It wouldn't matter what action anyone took. They would carry on using them and will certainly carry on using them for their children.

Edited

These are my thoughts also, that’s how the RF should be moving forward hopefully William will be brave and sort this out once and for all, it is utterly ridiculous that we have a Prince and Princess of the United Kingdom who have practically never set foot in this country and probably never will, at least until they are adults when it wouldn’t surprise me one iota that those two children will be desperate to discover their Royal British heritage that their parents have denied them, wonder how Harry and Meghan are going to explain that to them, maybe in an e mail??

She needs a spreadsheet to keep track of what she says . These are the 2 videos where she lies about meeting Yasmeen Bleeth . Tbh , I don't believe either of them.
