Your choice for Head of State?

If you could have anyone in the world as the UK Head of State who would you choose?

I would choose Michelle Obama. Incredibly bright, passionate and well connected woman who is used to talking to world leaders.

You want an American as head of the UK? how would that work? unless there is something about her I have not realised, was she born here?

I'd have JK Rowling because of her tenacity.

Fine Job Brand as our Head of State. Extremely intelligent, capable and could handle President Trump.

If we're being lighthearted then I agree that Michelle would be great, and JK as well. Both highly intelligent, cultured, poised and strong women. I'm a constitutional monarchist (Scandinavian style preferred) so am happy for the monarchy to continue, though.

Many people have said over the years that Princess Anne would have made a better heir to the throne and I know what they mean. I have a lot of respect for KC and I think he is a decent man, but Princess Anne is tougher (she's her father's daughter) and more able to take the flak and the pressure which I think affects the more sensitive Charles.

I like Kathy Burke and Jo Brand, but I really don't think they'd manage the gravitas that's needed for the role. Having a slanging match with Trump, fun though it might be, wouldn't really be the right approach for a HoS!

@JoyousGreyOrca sorry but that makes no sense at all. And I love Michelle Obama. Head of a country should be someone that understands said country and the only way to do that is being living in that country.

Jo Brand would not have a slanging match with Trump. She is highly intelligent and used to manage a London mental health A and E. She was used to handling patients who were emotionally volatile and who had delusions. She would be brilliant at handling Trump.

Michelle Obama though could fulfil the role well whilst wearing amazingly stylish clothes and looking elegant and aspirational. Would also be lovely to have a black Head of State.

Boris Johnson.

Yes, I’m actually serious. President Boris. He would be brilliant at all the glad-handing & bonhomie & making entertaining speeches & boosterism stuff. He would throw good parties, too…
