Perhaps he thinks this is the way to get his security reconsidered? Personally I'd say the opposite.
If he still had UK security I'd expect them to do a risk assessment and say "NO".

You have conveniently left out that large parts of Colombia are safe to travel to and have a thriving tourist industry - Bogotá, Medellin, Cartagena etc and there is no Foreign Office advice to not travel there....

Actually, no I'm wrong, it's not for Megs benefit, it's because the people of Columbia need her; it will be so uplifting, so magical for them to be blessed by her presence.

Colombia is a wonderful place with some of the most welcoming people I have ever met. One of their huge concerns is how inaccurately the rest of the world view their country. Threads like this don't help.

Yes, there are parts of the country that the FO advised against travel to, but there are huge parts that are safe to go to. Cartagena is full of cruise ships bursting with Americans, Germans and Brits. But why let the truth get in the way of having a pop at Harry and Megan??!

Colombians are wonderful and lovely people, Cartagena is relatively safe compared to the rest. People should follow advice to travel and from the US is very clear and specific. I really do not understand why he would go there if he has security concerns but none of my business.
