"But the UK and US governments have both issued security alerts over travelling to Colombia amid fears over crime, terrorism, civil unrest and kidnapping - and Harry's decision to visit comes amid his ongoing battle for his security when in Britain.
The UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office 'advises against all but essential travel to parts of Colombia'. And the US Department of State issued a travel advisory for Colombia stating: 'Reconsider travel due to crime and terrorism. Exercise increased caution due to civil unrest and kidnapping. Some areas have increased risk.'"

Perhaps he thinks this is the way to get his security reconsidered? Personally I'd say the opposite.
If he still had UK security I'd expect them to do a risk assessment and say "NO".
Why should security personnel be put at risk by being required to travel to these dangerous destinations.

Colombia is clearly much safer than the UK for H&M as obviously shown in this thread so many people have such hatred for them. Suggesting a kidnapping would be funny is sick and has clearly never happened to any of you or it wouldn't be funny at all. I hope they help to promote tourism to the beautiful country that it is and none of the ignorant posters on here ever have the audacity to call themselves cultured or "well travelled" as clearly most of you are idiots.

They have been invited by the VicePresident and something good may come out of it. I am sure they will be safe in Columbia as guests of the government.

To suggest Columbia is safer for Harry and Meghan than the UK beggars belief. If the UK is so unsafe for them, they should just stay away. They don't want to go to the UK anyway, so there's no issue, surely.

Hey folks, why don't you pop on down to our local family shelter here in NYC and tell the residents that it's safe for them to return to Colombia, a country with a Level 3 travel advisory in the US. Because we know that all that matters is the safety of the tourists in their gated resorts and guided tours.

This will create more space for the Venezuelan and Ecuadorian asylum seekers.

I’m sure they will be safe too just as they would in the UK if they give the required notice so that their security can be arranged, which seems eminently reasonable to
me. What I don’t understand is why they are being invited as leaders in digital and online safety? What have they actually done to tackle cyber bullying or online exploitation?

Say what? So what has all the fuss, not to mention the cost, of Harry's case regarding security been about then? If the daft pair don't want to go to the UK, why kick up such a stink about security (which he would probably get when /if he visited the UK anyway?
